    I know Pine is a soft wood so not ideal for every project, but the beauty of the striations never grows old. Beautiful piece. I would certainly show it of at my house!

    Very pretty what kind of pine is that I have yellow pine it Don t work well cuz of pine resin to it’s dry then the bark has fell off

    Nice work. I'd love to see a footnote on the tools, like the type and angle grind of that first bowl gouge. (Nice edit, magically went from four screws to six.)

    If you put clear coat on will that keep it from cracking more?

      Hi Chuck unfortunately not, if it wants to crack it will. A gradual drying process may help, I sometimes increase humidity by placing back in damp shavings. This can close cracks prior to finishing. 😃👍

    What kind of finish are you using? I started turning about 14 years ago, took a hiatus for about 4-5 years and have resumed. Was using a friction polish on just about everything but looking for other finishes.

    I'm very impressed at how you controlled the tear out on the end grain. Do you find that using the carbide tools helps manage that?

      Thanks for watching Thomas! I decided to switch to a scraper as I find to easier to use at the moment as I'm waiting for a new gouge to come and It also makes for good cinematography. Both carbide tools and traditional chisels get the work done, it just depends which one you want to use. I haven't put any finish on the bark, I felt it didn't really need it this time. 👍
