WIZARDRY 8 should come to consoles ! Thanks bringing Wizardry 1 Remake to consoles though Wizardry 8 is one of the ultimate RPGs of all time!! Deserves to come to consoles too ! Doesnt require remade graphics, just QoL and console adaptation would be great! Wizardry 1 remake woulda been better with option to upload images from HDD to make into character portraits, kinda like PS4 has custom wallpapers, though Wizardry 1 remake still looks better than ever! This series deserves a comeback multiplatform! This and classic Might & Magic series from 1-8 at least. These are true RPGs that let players create their own character and party! That should be an RPG standard!
And it has native controller support! Sweet!

I've been addicted to this game like crack since it dropped... we had an Apple II at my school when I was a little fella, but never heard of this game. We mostly had Oregon Trail and some typing tutorials. Thanks to you gentlemen for making this classic available with not only a beautiful facelift and quality of life improvements, but yes, what a killer soundtrack!

I hope this does as well as possible, preferably extremely well. I know you guys don’t have infinite time to do 1-8. I wish wizards of the coast would beg you guys to do something with the SSI Gold/Silver/Black box games…!
Sounds like you changed the music from the beta version. I kind of liked the remixes of the NES OST. Maybe it's because I originally played this game on the NES and still have my cartridge, I'm kind of sad about it.

Another thing that would be cool for this is Wizardry 2, 3, and original campaign dlc where we can get totally new story& dungeons built on top of this. It's been hard to recommend early Wizardry games to youngsters until now. This made it modern enough for anyone while keeping the challenge
40:45 I can't believe the fighters still don't wear plate armor...that's literally the first I buy for my fighters and samurais as soon as I can afford it. And it looks like one doesn't even wear a helmet.

Downloading the game as I watch this, couldn’t even finish the vid before buying. Love old dungeon crawlers and improving ux is great, my attention span isn’t what it used to be. Cool stuff
Just picked up the game and it’s awesome! Know you approached it with the original game and faithfulness to that in mind but honestly I would love dlc classes or additional mazes. Here’s hoping the games successful enough to consider making the sequels in the same style!!
Does the gold key have any function in this version?
I kind of like having the character tips on; not because I need them, but because them acting like condescending brats is actually pretty immersive. 😅Have you ever played D&D?
Games like this don't respect the player's time because they were designed with the same ethos as quarter suckers.
If your building up squads, grinding levels on everyone, equiping them, not looking up maps/guides, and avoid taking chances. The first time you step out and take a risk you get party wiped. You lose hours of work, and may not know any better how to deal with it next time.
That is a bit over the top. Then, having to develop a stratgy involving save scumming, because the time lost isn't worth it in the slightest.
EDIT:
The concept of this game brutality was given a scene in the movie "Big" staring Tom Hanks. Its indirectly referenced to avoid copyrights. A computer game where the players has to make it past a wizard. He fails, and later in the movie achieves success. It doesn't even real fit into the movie.
You know what happened when I took my level 1 party out? They leveled up to level 3 - if you want I'll share the save file, but I'm not sure if I can post links here. Anyway, the game is plenty easy enough if you know what you're doing and don't mind putting in a little effort; it just isn't shy about teaching you to figure things out for yourself. If you don't know what you're doing or are otherwise incompetent, they have added in many ease of access settings for the systemically placated and pandered. Cheers.
