I have been watching I think every single video on TH-cam on how to do this 😂 I’m getting ready to try this project come this summer! I can’t wait! Yours turned out so great :)
Love how detailed this is, I am wanting to do this well soon. This just made my stress level go down a tone because I kept thinking how am I going to do it and make it look really good.
+Carrie Sobek It really is so easy. I’m not good at building stuff and it turned out great!!!! It really takes no skills to do this. You can definitely do it. Good luck and enjoy the process:)
First of all I just subscribed and hit the like button. We had water damage in our kitchen. We have to replaced cabinet sink. It is cabinet in front of the sink. Plus some cabinets to your left. Our cabinets made lk your parents but lighter. It is hard finding matches for the cabinet. It is only for four cabinet doors. We are not replacing all cabinet doors. I ran across your video. I said what a great video. I think we might do it or get someone do the job. Because my husband have some health issues. I am some proud. You are helping your parents. Thank you. Looking forward to your videos. ps Our cabinets are made of laminate. It want be a problem with putting the wood on cabinet
I'd love to see your moms kitchen w the new counter tops ! We are considering doing this, but my shaker strips will have to be wider to cover the groove design on our cabinets. Thank you for this tutorial!
Hey! It was 1/4 inch plywood from the store. It was the cheapest wood we could find that was thin. You can buy 1/4 inch lumber in strips already but it is about 10x more expensive.
+@therustycow Hey! I don’t know what gauge. But you can just go to the store and buy trim nails and use a small hammer:) I think these were 1/2 inch but I don’t remember the size. My dads nailer didn’t work well so half of them we had to hammer in anyway lol
+@Sean-Aviation Hey! Honestly I cannot remember:( But I feel like it’s in the video. But I think they are 2.5 inches wide but for the drawers we used 1 inch
+@kataysmith9581 Yes. They can be destructive even though they are so cute! They eat ALL the bird feed out of bird feeders, which they don’t need to because they gather food throughout the summer for winter. Birds do not gather and save food. They can also be destructive to gardens and we grow most of our food around here:) It was also squirrel season, so legal:)

Looks great! Don’t forget a black outlet cover for the island.
+Susan Peterson Thanks! You have a good eye. We ordered a black cover on Amazon 😉
@@CollinsCountry You’ve inspired me. What brand was the Weathered Moss? Behr?
+Susan Peterson Thanks! :) Yes it was:) From Home Depot I believe. I would have to go back and watch the video to know for sure…
Hi, this came out great. The shaker wood pieces that your husband cut what are those and do they sell them in those strips prior to cutting?

@CollinsCountry ooh great. Thanks soo much.
Hand tools are still good for everything. ❤
agreed! :)
Looks great!!!
+@sharonlatour6230 thanks!
@@CollinsCountry You're welcome!!
What kind of wood did you use?
+@annettesmith1766 The cabinets are just cheap maple cabinets. And the wood we used was thin plywood:)
Where do you buy thin plywood
Lowes or home depot it's poplar sanded plywood is what I use wish I can share a Pic but I do have a video of the walkthrough of the house
You didn’t show the painting- was that done by hand or a paint sprayer? How exactly was it done?
Did you use a brad nailer or pin nailer? Do you know what gauge?

@@CollinsCountry cool
He really didn't shoot the squirrel did he?

@@CollinsCountry just cruel and unnecessary
Agreed, really spoiled a good video. Get a squirrel baffle for your feeders
Great job but the father shooting squirrels is totally unnecessary
Why? I thought it was funny.
@@hockeydad6211 fgs grow up you are so unfunny
