Once again, I just have to say the knitting community is a better place with your contributions! Your intellectual largesse, goodness, humor, and wit is a gift, thank you. You are quickly becoming a beloved knitting companion.
Oh gracious!! Thank you so much! I received a chunk of flack about this video - claiming it was a bought ad for the books which... no... it surely wasn't - and this comment makes me feel so much better about it. Thank you, genuinely!
This is it, folks. This is my favorite comment I'm going to receive. As a former Summer Library Kid, this speaks to my soul. When we moved towns this summer, the first thing my partner and I did was go to the library and get new cards hahaha
@@FlannelandPurls if you ever find yourself in Stowe, Vermont, stop by the library and I’ll get you signed up with an extra card here. ☺️ We are starting a knit and chat at the library, so bring a WIP. 🤣
Thank you Christopher, I'm so glad to have you in my knitting circle. I look forward to seeing your notification pop up that you have new content available to view.
Thank you, Christopher, for your well thought out review of Knitovation, and AlterKnit for that matter! You are such an influencer with your enthusiasm and thoroughness. I'm certain Sean and Andrea will very much appreciate your attention to detail and support! I, for one I'm sure, just ordered them both!
As did I!! Great job once again. Love your vlogs/podcast. And you certainly are an influencer! I would never have purchased these books without your influence! ❤ hugs from Canada 🇨🇦
Oh, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!! And thank you. I actually heard from Andrea the day after this was published and she said the whole family watched it - including their mothers hahaha I'm pleased to say everyone was thrilled!
every.single.carefully.chosen.word.and.body movement. you are gifted. you will receive so many more such items for review. deservedly. thank you. (both books are going on my holiday wish list).
Wanted to add that if anyone pre-orders by today, 3 extra motifs are available on her website. 😊 Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this book! I wasn’t sure about it, but you pointed out some really good points so I’ve made the dive to add it to my home library. 😊
@@FlannelandPurls I completely agree! My hands dry out so badly in the winter that there are some yarns that feel like they snag on my skin and it drives me insane.
Christopher, thank you. That was one of the the most in-depth reviews I’ve heard. I’m a great fan of colour-work. This is going to be my Christmas present to myself.
I preordered this book and I just got an email yesterday that said it shipped. I can’t wait to receive it. I love that you touched upon the tactile feelings associated with a well made book. The only thing better than the feeling is that book smell. As much as I embrace digital patterns, nothing will ever compete with my love of a hard copy book. ❤ Thanks for sharing!
I couldn't agree more! We're a big physical book family in this house. I think I've finally convinced my partner to come to the dark side and prioritize hardbound versions of his favorite paperbacks...
I can’t thank you enough for sharing this! As someone who has been knitting for many, many years and has never done colorwork I am off to buy these books!
Isn't it wonderful?? I was accused of being paid to make this video - which... if that's the case, the check must've been lost in the mail hahaha - but no! It's really that good! I just had to gush!
What a great review!! Makes me want to purchase the books and jump in, even thoughI just started a color work project! Thank you for sharing and your enthusiasm is contagous!
Thank you so much for this very informative review!! I had seen ads for this book all over the place and was wondering what it was all about. Like you, I am a colorwork novice but my all time love is modern geometric designs and her first book, which I did not know existed, is probably the first I will buy but both are inevitable! Thanks again and I hope you do not hesitate to share you views on any knitting topic!
😢😢😢….I pre-ordered it on digital and NOW the way you described the texture of the book I want to touch it…..😂. But regardless I can’t wait until tomorrow to get it. Love the first book so I’m sure it will be great. Thanks for another great episode
Fabulous review - when I first saw the book I was curious on how it and alterknit differed, so I appreciate your insight from cover to cover. And in terms of what to call this episode, perhaps "Shelf Stitch"? A play on words using out craft and the whole Tiktok "stitch incoming" trend?
I now need a yellow and white ducky cardigan. As if my queue wasn't long enough :> Immediately ordered both! My mum will love the Alterknits geometric patterns, I can already see a hat/mittens combo to make for her this winter!
They really do work beautifully as a set. I was accused of shilling out to Penguin in this video - as if Big Yarn is a thing? - but no... I really do think one completes the other and while someone could easily enjoy either AlterKnit or KnitOvation, they're clearly written to be used together. I hope you enjoy and you get that cardigan!!
I absolutely love how you described the book. I have very similar feelings about some literature I have been told before that i will talk about describe a book that has really intrigued me as "book porn". Thanks for what you do.
I really did!! I've read it twice more since I made this video! I'm a big nerd when it comes to understanding the WHY of something and this part tickled my brain in just the right way.
I had been meaning to order. thanks for the push! nice review- detailed and enthusiastic!! You need a colorwork cardigan so that you can be our own knitting Mr. Rogers🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶
I'm so happy for you! What a big deal, and what a fantastic recommendation. I have both of these books on my wish list and am moving them up the list. Thank you again for such an entertaining podcast! 💚🧶💚

A+ Book Report.
what a fun review, thank you! ❤
A book's texture is really important. There are some books that I'm sure are phenomenal but when I pick it up, I want to scream.
Ok, yes. This. Same with yarn, right? Could be the loveliest color and then you pick it up and it feels like a wound bundle of hay.

wait, isn't the yarn shop "rule" that you can't buy anything till you have touched every yarn in there? 🙂 thx for this in-depth review
