Thanks again Tom and Cornelius for another great video. In our group we mandate all natural fibers for clothing, especially for the fire safety and historical accuracy. One of the advantages I think we have as a Hiberno-Viking group is that we have lots of oats for porridge and dairy products, so mornings are great at camp. wool felt I have used for a cloak; it is vg in the rain and is warm too. I have used it as a blanket in the rain in an emergency.

Of all the variety of ancient/medieval old world winter clothing, I really like the viking combo, wool hood+ wool tunic+ wool trousers+leg wraps and leather boots.👌Although i'm a southeast Asian who never had something colder than 20 deg C. 😁

These sailor knitting we call épissages in French, my dad taught me these when I was a toddler, He used to repair his clothes with pretty much every thread he could find. He wasn't really a sailor yet when he took his leave from the army after WWII, he worked on ships on the St-Lawrence River for the Canada Steamship Lines as a steward. ⛵

Great video as always Tom. Your leg wraps remind me of the puttees we wore in the British Army in the early 80s when we had Boots DMS. They became obsolete when we were issued "Boots Combat High". A thought - if they were waterproof they could be a useful alternative to the gaiters worn by hikers.

For example, home-made wooden clamps for the awning, as well as adjusting the height of the suspended bowler. I also really liked the idea with the wooden sheath for the axe. 🧙♂A little magic to start a fire was awsome to see. Cornelius has the right pitch and he could learn how to howl with the wolves real fast if you played harmonica to him and howled. It looks as if you had as much fun making that video as we are having watching it... 🐺🎯

wool is a great fabric, something i do is use a wool blanket (folded in 3) as a sleeping mat, originally because hound has inch long claws and he wrecked my sleeping pads
... but once i started using it i realized how much more comfy it is.

Love the look, I watched the last video, you find some nice areas to film. I like oatmeal cooked for breakfast. My favorite way is raisins and brown sugar but I also like it with honey or creamy peanut butter.

Bernard Cornwell has a historical fiction series about Viking/Briton history and he points out in one of them that the seagoing Vikings had a great need for cloth for their sails. Women were expected to weave a certain number of inches of cloth every day.
