So lucky I found this video and now a subscriber. I always love outdoor, the wet smell of dirt, the cold air, the sound of stream and the whispers of fire, that is why everytime I have a chance, I always go camping or trekking alone. The best way to relieve stress is to reconnect with nature.
It’s like the camera isnt even there. He’s just going about his day and we get to watch, which I don’t know about the rest of you but I’m mesmerized. I want that kind of peace in my life.
Those are such beautiful hides! I especially love watching the close-up shot of you cutting it with your puukko, seeing the beautiful texture of the skin up close and the satisfying sound the knife makes slicing through. It is a great pity that the TV has replaced the campfire for so many of us. At least here with Rune we have a window into that mostly lost world.
I enjoy watching you do this, it might be fun for a few days as a novelty, but realistically I can see this as being a rough way to live. I'm in Canada, and had the first overnight frost last night. Puddles had some ice on them but we're not solid (unless very shallow). Leaves are still turning on some trees, where as others have started dropping. Temperatures are supposed to head back up to the high teens, low twenties (Celcius) the rest of the week, but the change is in the air. Western Canada has been hit with blizzards already. Watching this reminds me very much of the early snowfalls that are soon to come. Rune, you look as comfortable and content as ever. Thank you for the silent lessons and having us along! 🇨🇦❤️🙂👍👍

Bought a reindeer skin off a Swedish guy at the Christmas market in Liverpool England about 10 years ago it was one of the warmest things I've ever purchased .there great against the cold .nothing better .

Just wanted to show the customers in my axe blacksmithing buessnes what I do in my spare time, but the video tuned out to be very popular and I did make it my full time job making more similar videos instead of forging axes. I was wondering... Shouldn't the fur portion of the pelt you're wearing be facing the outside, not the inside? but I found out that the question isn't as simple as that. I guess if you are wearing fur that comes from a cold-weather animal type for say a coat or whatever it may be and moving around, the fur should be fur-side out and skin-side in order to diffuse wind while allowing the skin to breath and not trap moisture which can make you get colder. BUT if you are using a long fur coat as a blanket in a situation where you're sitting or lying down in a place where there is no wind, then turning the fur toward your skin will be the most efficient way to trap your body heat by trapping pockets of air in the fur. Which makes sense, as different animals from different climates have different kind of fur with different properties.

@@earthangel8730 if there is a belief system that makes someone's life more enjoyable for them, and if aspects of it have to do with nature and inadvertently give them another positive view on nature itself, then "god" forbid that they believe the way they do. Do not let your unhappiness and discontent become a personal weapon against those who are happy in whatever way suits them.

I was wondering... Shouldn't the fur portion of the pelt you're wearing be facing the outside, not the inside? but I found out that the question isn't as simple as that. I guess if you are wearing fur that comes from a cold-weather animal type for say a coat or whatever it may be and moving around, the fur should be fur-side out and skin-side in order to diffuse wind while allowing the skin to breath and not trap moisture which can make you get colder. BUT if you are using a long fur coat as a blanket in a situation where you're sitting or lying down in a place where there is no wind, then turning the fur toward your skin will be the most efficient way to trap your body heat by trapping pockets of air in the fur. Which makes sense, as different animals from different climates have different kind of fur with different properties.
