When there are virtually 0 boats to film you need to diversify . Boats are easy videos compared to news though 😀📸

What an informative and extremely useful round up of the events in the area for the past week. I really enjoyed it. It is extremely helpful for those not in this area to see what has been happening. The staff at Lathams must be working very hard to deal with the water and to keep the shop open. You took me through the village from the comfort of my living room! I had to go through Wroxham on Thursday to take one of the hounds for her booster jab and the queue for the lights was horrendous. Thought I would be a smarty pants and go down The Avenue to save time and at the end it was closed off due to a Police incident round the corner. Everyone was turning around, nobody could get anywhere and we ended up late at the Vets. Luckily they were OK and the Vet I saw lives just down the road from me and she told me she was late in too. I do not think we shall get snow as it always seems to miss us here in Norfolk. It will be cold I expect.

Too close to the sea for it to snow but it’s always bitterly cold.
Poor Lathams, flooded at the back and the constant worry of it flooding at the front too.

I’m a long way from the river, so ok where I am luckily. For those living along the riverside, I can’t imagine how awful it must be for them. Also, those who had booked holidays in those properties and now can’t get to them. Awful, feel so sorry for all of them affected.

I’m not sure it was one of my better ideas 😂, perhaps just a one off. So hard to film boats this time of year though and that’s all people want to watch sadly. I’ll probably reduce the number of videos I put out each week to make it easier to find content.

My step dad works for the Broads Authority so we do hear news but such a treat to actually SEE it all as we moved to NZ 12 years ago. I’ve shared your channel with my parents and in-laws ❤

Thanks again for another update on the state of the Broads just now. I’m back down next weekend for a couple of weeks on the boat so been following your news with bated breath it doesn’t get too much worse and I’m able to get out and about to relax in my Den of Zen I call the Norfolk Broads 😀

Thank you Lisa, ths a real public service putting all this together. I would be interested to see what the saline barrier looks like. It's hard to imagine how they hold back the tife without huge engineering building works
I have filmed it in the past. It will be in my potter Heigham playlist. There isn’t actually much you see as it’s in the water. Just looks like a piece of wood blocking the entrance to the basin. In reality the whole entrance to the basic to blocked off under water. Does that make any sense ?

Thanks I didn't know about that. It seems inadequate to mitigate all the environmental damage the high tides bring, but it's better than nothing. It's a pity the BA doesn't fit some luck gates at the mouth of the Bure in Great Yarmouth. They have them on the Thames and in the Solent, and the French and Dutch have them too with a much higher tidal range.
Perhaps suggest it to them
Very interesting Lisa. Do you know if the moorings at Womack Staithe were flooded? I imagine it must have been a close run thing. My old boatyard at Wroxham, opposite the hotel, used to have pictures of the water coming over the moorings. Definitely a wellies moment. I hope the situation from last week, or was it the week before, is much better now?

@@NewnameSameme Yes Lisa I read about the sunken boat online at Eastern Gazette, sadly someone lives on it and makes it more sadder. Maybe someone will open a go fund me page to get the owner a new boat home especially if no insurance.
