Rimowa's original pilot case was first released in 1994. The production was ceased at somewhere around 2015 (?) and the prices of second hand items skyrocketed up to 2500-3500 EUR at highest.

Any details on the bottom? Is it just the grooves body or does it come with any means of abrasive protection?
Actually inside is the covered all over with a textile or fabric material which seems to be quite heavy duty. But the bottom of the case is not flat. In each corner there is this bump due to wheels.
One issue I have come up with (and this is actually something I was already aware while purchasing this) is the fact that it really does not work quite well in the cockpit of Airbus 320 series or 330. The issue is that it is bit tricky to open the case while positioned in the cockpit and also you can easily damage your Rimowa with plane's electrically adjustable seat.

Is it heavy? Is it loud on black asphalt? Like the black paved parking lot ?
