Yeah pretty much why Cro said, They break VERY easily. I had a JP15 that had them, and I had to get a replacement one month after getting it. Couldve just been a fluke on that one, but I replaced 2 throughout owning that.
I still think the Jason Richardson 7 string was one of the best guitars I have ever played. There was something magical about holding that guitar and the way it sounded, same with many Ernie Ball Music Mans I have tried
Love the tones of this guitar. The bridge humbucker gas a nice fat tone while still sounding modern at the same time. And I love the fact that the middle position on the switch is that cool split sound.
Good overview. How are the frets? They are medium jumbo, I'd worry they are kinda low for friction-less bending. Admittedly, ebony is a hard, smooth wood, but still, I'd worry about my sweaty fingers getting stuck on the board while bending.
Dude! I've been loving that guitar since I first saw the pic on Jason's instagram... That Rorschach red Is amazing! Will there be a Sterling version? ♥
I have the gorgeous purple labia 6 string. Man the gold hardware pops with this guy!! I wasnt crazy about the pickups at 1st and then I was playing around one day and tried the middle position. OMG!! Quackiest guitar I have, not even split. I know its not intended to be a Strat replacement but it sounds better than any of my other strats in middle!!
@@jeffreycollins7297 The pertrucci's from music man (not sterling) are the same price or more expensive. Jason Richardson is also way cooler as petrucci
I love the look of the guitar...but slim necks give me the cramps..especially around my thumb area...even a 59' neck is the limit for me...58' is what I prefer..to play fast or slow...
Sucks that MM is one of the handful of companies that have hiked prices up by a massive percentage over the last year+. $3300 for this guitar. Hell the $1800 Axis is now $3k. Following suit with Jackson (this year), Gibson, etc. Shit the Jackson PC1 is $4300 now. Whaaat the hell? I get cost of doing business in the US is expensive, but those increase percentages definitely do not add up. :(
When I saw the IG/YT clips and ads I knew that red burl was going to be as visually destroying when I got to see random people demoing it - you're the first! I do wish you'd got the 7 but it's representative for sure...
wood bindings are some of the coolest bindings I've ever seen and I actually had committed to myself long ago that if I every build guitars I'm gonna ditch the plastic and bind with wood.
Years ago i bought a EBMM JP6 used from a music store. I paid $1400.00 CAN ( approx ). Incredible guitar, hands down the neck profile, bridge, knobs, neck wood, electronics are all top notch. I sold it for $1800.00 and used that to finance a custom built guitar. When i originally purchased that guitar used, the cost was $2300.00 CAN for a brand new unit. Today, that same guitar is $3,875.00 CAN, nothing has changed feature wise. I love the EBMM stuff but IMO the quality your getting for a high end USA built guitar these days from EBMM or PRS isn't really worth the cost you know have to pay. Even a brand new Jackson USA Misha Mansoor 7 string is $5,069.99 CAN... lol Wut? I currently have 1 custom built USA made guitar and 2 higher end Korean made guitars. The quality from higher end overseas guitars has gotten substantially better then what is was 10 years ago. i would rather pay less and get a Keith Merrow MK2 Korean import ( example ) for a cheaper cost then the USA built guitar in this video. Just my opinion, for me I'm not sure the quality on a guitar improves too much these days past the $2000 dollar mark. Thoughts? Anybody else feel like maybe the USA built stuff is getting a bit too costly for what your getting? I hope reading this you see that this is a opinion, if your triggered by this then kindly eat a hot dog. Also, painting over that amazing piece of wood with a clear "blood pie" paint should be considered a crime. ( i personally would call that finish, Blood fart ). I love the 7 string model with the Burl top, no paint.
I don't get what's so special about coil splitting. Half of humbucker equipped guitars have it. They may call it tapping, but it's splitting. It's almost impossible to tap a humbucker.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention that he was the first NBA player to have a signature guitar.
HAHAHAHA
Whats NBA
The guitarist has more talent than the athlete.
I'M DEAD
No, he was first mumble rapper
Why is push-push not standard in all guitars that offer tapping/splitting etc. To me it's a no brainer.
They break. Like, alot... liiiiiiiike .. alot alot
Yeah pretty much why Cro said, They break VERY easily. I had a JP15 that had them, and I had to get a replacement one month after getting it. Couldve just been a fluke on that one, but I replaced 2 throughout owning that.
Why not just have a tiny toggle? 🤷🏽♂️
Caparison did that in the early 2000’s.
EBMM releases anything:
Everyone in the comment section: OMG TOO EXPENSIVE
Exactly dude!!!! I’m sick of these people like hell
I’m buying one next week
Sweetwater $70 a month

That guitar should be called a 'Cutlass Supreme.'
Or the Cutlass Sierra lol
Lol dude you are everywhere today.

Just got my 7 string one 2 days ago. Best guitar ever made honestly.
I hope that a Sterling version of this guitar comes out soon.
Just so you know they are releasing a 6 string sterling of the old jrich 7

Jesus, that guitar is beautiful. It sounds versatile too.
I have the buckye burl 7 EBMM and it is one of the most versatile guitars I’ve ever played. Seriously amazing!

The riffs after you called the finish stunning sound halfway in between TOOL and Black Label Society

Purple... Labia?
@@eddyray666 oops, majora? Lol
What does "true" coil splitting mean and how it is different from usual coil splits every other modern guitar has?
True means it fully kills one coil. Most cheap coil taps just turn the volume down on one.
@@Shevchenko_DBR9 Oh. Never seen ones that just turn the volume down. Seems like a waste of a push-pull pot.
@@daleonov It’s a waste. The cheaper guitars like Ibanez iron label have a shitty coil tap
I want one so bad
Horshack red? Damn those welcome back Kotter references never go away.
Rorschach Red
Lovely guitar
How does the neck and higher fret access differ between this and a jp 15?
I love these fine crafted guitars but its kinda like an expensive furniture: you dont want to ding it
Aahh..I like your grunge-y tone with this cutlass 👍👍👍
In coil split mode I thought you were about to bust out Got You Where I Want You. Great demo
Hey fluff you know sterling right? Wouldnt it be cool if they released a fretless? I mean wouldnt that be sick... WOULDNT THAT BE...

it just looks like a rebranded Petrucci model too.

So much better looking than the EB Majesty. Just wish it was a little cheaper than the Majesty being it dont have much options as John Petrucci's
