I love how you're always telling off other driver haha, sounds like on the road lol. Love these cars, i've had a mini hatchback and now i'm ready for one of these.
I think this car is far too big and luxurious to be called a "MINI" no idea what Alec Issigonis would have thought of it, he believed radios were a distraction and the only safety feature you needed was "good handling." No doubt it would make a much safer family car than an original Mini Countryman though!!! If BMW own the rights to the Maxi name that would maybe be more appropriate haha. Great review as always Barrie :)
Kevin Smith yep, the Maxi, my Uncle worked at a garage called Loxhams in St Annes and he called at our house when he was out road testing the first new Maxi that they had gotten into stock
@@BarrieCrampton The motor trade runs in your family then Barrie :) It must have been really exciting seeing brand new models before anyone else!!! I had a ride in a Maxi last year, so airy compared to modern cars and you don't need parking sensors as you can actually see out of the deep windows! Not the best looking car BMC ever made but it deserved to sell better than it did. I liked it :)
yes, it does, I loved going to new model launches and press day at the motor show. Waiting for the first new ones to arrive at the dealership to arrive on the transporter, it's like having lots of birthdays and Christmases
I used to drive this car with one of my instructors. Indicators are shit and the design for switching to reverse gear is awful but other than that it's a very reliable car.

not found any problems with reverse, its possible that the gearbox has had a hard life if its a driving school car, or that the clutch needs replacing
A 4 wheel drive mini, class!!
great to drive, handles brilliantly
@@BarrieCrampton I bet!! An upgrade for Mr.Bean haha
It's NOT a mini, if you have to walk round it instead of stepping over it :)
I have an autographed photo of the footballer Duncan Mckenzie hurdling a mini 😎
