"Non Profit organisations" tend to have remarkably generous salaries.
Also, I think one aspect we overlook is, that the charging network isn't going to be sustainable at any reasonable level.
Even according to the EV shills, you have to charge at home to avoid the high costs from charging networks.
However, if everyone that's able to do so avoids the charging network, then who's going to pay for it to be maintained?
So unless governments subsidize the infrastructure of private businesses with tax money, it'll be scaled down to have consistent demand.
Pair that with a potential large scale traffic jam due to extreme weather and people will que up on the motorway for a charger once the mandates are trough.
Doesn't take a genius to expect people to be at each other's throats on the chargers in such situations either IMO.

If you look at this EV fiasco with any logic it fails at multiple levels. There are overgrown fields of them in China ,4 years old but brand new rusting away unsold. My council is installing a charger on each council house revamp it does. On a house with no drive ! FFS. Unfortunately the current government has no clue about reality which is coming to bite it’s arse in a big way at this rate.

The government that governed in a certain European country in the first half of the twentieth century mandated their private industry to do what they wanted them to do.
They were socialists and they led the world into the 2nd world war.
Socialists always like to point the finger at others and smear them as far r….. They have created a lie over 80 years to hide the real truth about their past .
They are using a fake crisis to take control of people’s lives again .
Mandating industry by governments never ends well.

If dealers refused to accept EV's as trade-ins due to the potential losses, and did not bid too high on leasing company returns (as seems to be happening) - the used ev market would devalue faster.... Time for the trade as a whole to wake up, as they cannot suffer these losses. And time to get the SMMT to tell the truth!

      The parts are available.
The true cost per mile is easy to work out, just add up everything you pay in and divide by the miles you have done.
Then if you need to know how much a trip is actually costing just multiply it.
Eg: a 200 mile trip actually cost £375.
Don't take my word for it.

can you imagine the mess if in 5 years time the majority of the cars on the road are EV's!? I just did a route plan for a trip i'm due to take. Essex to Hollyhead I chose an Audi Etron 50. with a claimed range of 270miles. It would take 6.5hours and 2 hours of that is just charging. I'd have to charge 3 times. I dont know where all these extra chargers are coming from but even if a service station had one for every parking space, the average time spent at a service station for petrol and something to eat is about 20mins or less. sometimes I just want to stop for fuel and go. so around 10mins on a bad day. and I'd probably only have to fill up once. on an EV I'm spending a 3rd of my journey waiting for it to charge (and that's if there isn't a queue for the chargers!) it doesn't work!

Thanks for your work on this video, those reductions by the dealers are crazy, one thing that you mentioned but did not give figures for is the new price for some of those cars, that Audi Etron that was reduced bt £51,000 to £72,000 has a new list price of £150,695!!!, it is lesss than half price with 8,000 miles and one year old. Soon it will be a throw away item.

Buying a car is a consumable, you know whatever you buy you are going to lose a lot of money! It's never been an investment. The Ora cat you mentioned sells for £13000 in China. They came over to Europe with a retail of around £31000. They haven't sold very well so now you can pick them up for around £13000 with less than 8000 miles. This is for the 48kw battery. They brought out the upgrade with 61kw which they are still asking £35000 for. As a customer you pay your money you choose as an adult having done your homework. If you buy a new car outright and keep it for 10 years. Best to buy nearly new on a pcp and know you will hand it back to the dealer in three or four years. You know at the outset what is costing if your happy with that great!

How will they be taxed in the future? How much will it cost to charge in a Yr or 2 or 5? As the answers are unknown (except more is the right answer) we all need to say enough is enough. Say it loud and say it again write letters use platforms etc to express the utter folly. Let those that can .fine . but this forcing the masses to effectively make themselves poorer, their friends loose their jobs, their country go to the dogs. * very nearly too late on that one. I'd agree the last 14yrs have been a disaster but repeating and making the same mistakes can not and should be accepted. With no answers to the questions the time is not right . This is serious very serious. For there to be a future the people need to be part of it by choice not force, we need a life not a battery with wheels sat on the drive with no jobs to go to. Ask the question who wanted this ? Who is pressing this who stands to gain from this. .

Private new owners of all £100k+ cars get rinsed after 3 years, regardless of the fuel powering them and this has been happening for decades !
Look up BMW 8 Series, Audi A8, Merc S Class, BMW 7 Series.... (you know this already).
You mentioned 'cherry picking', but you yourself are cherry picking EV's for this high deprecation video.
The Taycan and E-tron new models were launched earlier this year, with much longer range, better efficiency, more performance and more spec. So the older gen cars on 24 and 74 plates need to be reduced more, else they won't sell.
Also, the people buying these £100k+ EV's are doing so with significant tax savings. The used cars need drop a lot of value, else it's cheaper to buy new.
No one is going to buy a £100k Taycan, or E-tron, which has dropped to £70k after 2-3 years, because it's cheaper to get a new £100k+ car.
Finally, deprecation only hits you when you sell the car, someone buying a used £51k e-tron and keeping it, is saving £2,600 (driving high mileage) compared to an equivalent ICE car.

    • @ComeJesusChrist
      @ComeJesusChrist 9 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

That’s not really true. In fact, Autotrader did a list in February this year and the BMW 840i came tenth. There were a couple of Maserati saloons on the list, the rest being all electric, including the DS3 (1st), Vauxhall Corsa Electric (3rd), Nissan Leaf (4th), Vauxhall Mokka Electric (5th), Renault Zoe (7th), DS9 (8th) and the Peugeot e-2008 (9th).
You are referring to an Autoexpress article from February that put the BMW 850i on first place but for some reason covered the whole 8 series coupe range, followed by seven EVs, the Maserati Ghibli and the Audi A6 40 in eight and ninth place respectively. When you check Autotrader, these EVs have worse depreciation than what they predicted, which was that they would retain around 25-30% of their original list price after three years.
Anyway, both lists included EVs and a few V8 salons/coupes, which are not really the popular and family choices. When the electric Corsa, Fiat 500, Mazda electric Crossover and other popular family cars are predicted to lose £20-30k in three years, that’s quite a concern. No one cares about big V8 saloons’ value, but why are family and small EVs losing so much?! If they’ve done the list now, the Audi e-Teton and the Porsche Taycan may make their ways replacing the Maserati, Audi and BMW saloons and coupe.

I bought a great Zoe but they are old cars, old tech, there are much better EVS out on the market now! So don't pay over the odds there will probably be a cheaper deal on a new EV being offered. It's going to be a blood bath for dealers over the next 10 years, the fittest will survive! Stupid people will have their pants pulled down as always. But on the main the savvy buyers will see this period as the golden decade for bargain buying, the battery revolution has only just started ! What's available now and coming down the pipe is unbelievable! Incidentally if you are in the £15k to £20k segment buy a good used Tesla! With their cheap supercharger stations they are on a different level.

I feel for the workers 🥹 but let me tell any thinking of moving the Wirral is amazing place in my opinion it has everything surrounded by water in 3 sides, a Roman city of Chester close along with Liverpool ( Wirral is not in Liverpool ) nothing wrong with that city !Manchester just a hour away. Two international airports within easy reach. Living by the sea is amazing … get the dog and kids in the car and move 🫵
