    How lovely to see you giving such loving care to a lovely little creature. Bet he/she was so relieved to get that nasty blockage out of his nose. Thanks for sharing.

    My mom has a bearded dragon but really does not care for it that much and it breaks mu heart. She loved it when she first got it but now about 8 years later she feeds it and that is about it really. On my last visit I had to take her outside onto the sun as it was 35°C outside and she was in the coldest room in the house, with her heating lamp off. I noticed both her nostrils were plugged up from shedding about a year ago. I managed to dislodge one with eyebrow plucking tweezers but the other one was really lodged in. Mom was surprised that you even have to help them with that, the poor thing had to breathe through mouth pretty much her entire life, cooling herself down as a byproduct. I ordered sharp thin tweezers for modelers and managed to dislodge the other blockage on that last visit while we were out in the sun. I think the nostril was mildly inflamed but she was visibly happy she can breathe free now.
    I am really disappointed with my mom in this regard. She always is so excited for new animal and then after couple years when the reality of responsibility for it settles in she just neglects it, never educates herself on what it takes to take care of said animal or what it needs... I got her some vitamin supplements and mineral powders to dunk veggies or insects in so that the dragon gets the proper nutritional balance in her diet. I'd take it but I'd encourage my mother to keep doing this with other animals and also I live in a really tiny apartment and one pet (a cat) is already enough there.
    Also the poor thing is dehydrated... instructed mom on how to bathe her but doubt she'll do it.

    How would i go about removing nose shed where only the top part of the nose shed came out but there is still that little tube of shed stuck in the nose? With no external shed to assist in the removal

    What was the vet bill? My bearded dragon has a problem like this and I don’t have a lot of money

    • @ReptileWay
      @ReptileWay  ปีที่แล้ว

      I really can't say as depending on the vets, the time it takes, techniques they use and country/location, the price varies. You can call a few local vets and try get some quotes so you definitely know the price range for your circumstances 😊

    Hello. I think my bearded dragon might have some stuck shed on his parietal eye. It's only on that one scale. Only the colour of it makes me think it might be stuck shed. It's kind of a yellowish colour. How should I go about getting it off? I'm a tad concerned about it.

    • @ReptileWay
      @ReptileWay  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can use a spray bottle with luke warm water in it (make sure it's on a light mist spray setting) and spray that area twice a day and see if that loosens it. Or you could use paper towel, clean cloth to create a wet compress and hold it there for a couple of minutes. Then you can gently wipe the area to see if it will dislodge the stuck shed.
      You can also use tweezers to assist to peel it off, however you do want to be very cautious not to cause damage to this area.
      If you feel like you can't do it yourself you can try get assistance from a reputable breeder or take it to a vets that specialises in reptiles or that have reptile experience, in particular with Bearded dragons.
      Goodluck!

    So my beardie has one nostril clear and the other with some shed in it. Is it ok to leave it for the night?

    • @ReptileWay
      @ReptileWay  ปีที่แล้ว

      If it's due to it just starting to shed, they may be able to get it off themselves. If it's a bit after their shed cycle and it's stuck shed, you may have to remove it delicately with tweezers. If you're not confident yourself to do it, take it to a vets or a knowledgeable breeder may be able to give you a helping hand.
      But it won't do any harm to leave it for the night 😊

      No it shouldn't. However anything that partially blocks an airway of a reptile should be dealt with somewhat immediately 😊

      @ReptileWay  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For me it was $60 Australia Dollars, however cost varies dramatically based on location and the vet itself 😊
