The singer Joakim "hates" this song and always tries to avoid it at gigs 🤣 Both stages at the same time is just awesome! I wish I could have been there!
The guitar player on the left is Tommy Johansson. I highly recommend you check out his covers of The Winner Takes It All and She's Gone. His voice is phenomenal! Hi, from Germany.
I will listen to the original songs first so I can do his rendition of the songs. I love me some covers, especially if Mr Tommy himself is doing them!!
Greek lol.... Valhalla awaits! xD I can't even begin to imagine what it must have been like in those viking ships, sailing across the ocean....... Also... Women during the viking age had quite some big responsibilities and power in society. It wasn't until christianity came that women lost all rights. That says a lot. Something to be remembered, so that we know our roots were at least fighting for equality. Maybe that is why it is more equal here in the nordic countries... Even though the pay is still fucked up between women and male...... Love this song ^^ And you picked the perfect live show, where several of the old band members joined them on the stages. New and old, playing together. Plus the amazing Tina ^^
It's a "thing" that the band and audience have to coax Joakim into singing this song. This is one of the songs that they almost always play at their concerts because the audience is waiting for it and prompting it. I don'y know if Joakin really dislikes this song, but I guess he prefers other songs. Tina had never met the band before this, but the song was chosen before the show so she had time to learn it back home in the US.
If he doesn't like the song then he sure can hide it because his performance says otherwise 😂 Wow, I bet they LOVED the fact that she chose that song! Did she choose it beforehand and learn it? Or was it pre chosen by someone else and she had to learn it before the show? Either way, I'm glad the rock gods chose it to be this way! Cheers!!
@@Clouded_Reactions My guess is that Sabaton wanted her first time with them on stage to be a great one. They know that just playing that initial riff will get the crowd wild so they chose to give that to her to experience. They seem to have gotten along great considering that she collaborated with them years later on the song Steel Commanders, she also did the outro to the song 1916. There are some great compilations online of Joakim "jokingly" having a beef with the band over playing this song. But I have also heard him in an interview that they would "not get out alive" if they refuse to play this song. He has also said that this is the bonus song that he threw togher in 30 min just to have a song on the bonus album and that very little thought went into it. So not a song he's very proud of probably. But IMO if you write a riff like that you have yourself to blame.

I can imagine other people already alerted you, but tommy johansson, one of the former lead guitarists, made a Disney version called Disneyton of Swedish peagons, it's amazing. His work and the man himself are amazing, same as sabaton and sabaton history channel.
@@Clouded_Reactions Be prepared for a lot of emotions with that one, both in the video itself and then the long outro, with Tina's music and the texts that explain what happened in that battle.
I've heard that the Woodstock festival in Poland, which this is recorded at. So is the audience of over a million. Then if you had looked carefully you would have discovered that Sabaton played on 2 stages, the first with the current Band members and the second stage played former band members. As well as noticed how they cut in that they were 2 different drummers, one on each stage and then guitarists. I hadn't noticed this either because a Joakim mentioned this to a TH-camr who interviewed him here on TH-cam.
Wrong this is their 2019 Wacken Show were they got to celebrate their annivary by playing both Main stages at once. I was there it was a really good Show.

Agreed that religion isn't important in today's times. Most stuff, beit laws or regulations, are based in common sense and not the "fear of God" haha Regarding your former statement, I think that education and religion have zero correlation with each other.
Meant to say Norse mythology, not Greek 😂
