Swedish Pagan was an extra track on an Album. He never expected it to take off the way it did.
Well... I am very happy it did :)
The first country they been rally big in was Poland and the song 40:1 that had an big historic meaning which is more what Joakim like.
Also the album Calorus Rex have more historic correct material.
But my personal favorite album is their first Metalizer that actually most songs are from Lord of the Rings
@@fordonmekochgalenskaper5665 Is there any other Song than Shadows on Metalizer that is about LOTR?
@Säker tagning There are other songs i also like yjay mention vikings including a great song called Wolf Time sang at SCA events.
It is a running joke in the band and with the fans how Joakim does not 'like' this song. This was a special night at Wacken, a anniversary show for the band and invited past band members to play on the second stage during 3 performances. Love the fact Tina was kitted out like the band, she really complimented the band with her playing. Great reaction.
I noticed that actually. She looked the part with her camo and Sabaton shirt. Absolutely awesome. And it wasn't until i saw drummer number 2 that I was like...wait!? There's people on guitar that I haven't seen before either...
The "second" drummer you saw, is actually the current drummer Hannes van Dahl, (and Mr. Floor Jansen... ) 😉
I think he said once in an Interview, that the song itself he doesnt mind at all, he just doesnt like to perform it, because they performed it so often xD
@@Lucidonius96 yeah I understand that sentiment, a few band member that I know have that feel as well, dislike to perform a song because they performing it to often for them
@@Lucidonius96 Same reason he has some dislike for "Lifetime of war"
Constantly played, and it's exhausting because it has no low-point, nothing relaxed.
"I wasn't sure about a cello accompanying a metal band..."
Angel's Calling by Sabaton featuring Apocalyptica, either the music video or live from The Great Tour.
Almost ;). A single cello*
I was glad to hear that it works out amazing though! And yes... Angels calling has to happen!
@@VikingReacts It definitely proves your point that classical music goes great with metal.
Amen :)
@@VikingReacts three single cellos :D
@@angussharington2374 *Lol*
It was their 20 years anniversary show, so they played both main stages at Wacken. The current line-up on the "Faster" stage and the former members on "Harder" stage.
Absolutely epic to see this happen the way it did. Solid performance!
Jocke likes it. Its just a fun game at the gigs :). We usually start chanting it from the beginning more or less, until they play it.
Hahaha, pressuring the band into it :P. Love it!
I remember my friend coming home from a Sabaton show in I believe Göteborg in early 2020 I think Feb and every Swedish Sabaton fan just loves the song so on the entire train ride back home the passengers were chanting Swedish Pagans. I thought it was a great story when he told me.
If that is true... I want to be on that ride!
Check out "Ghost division", "Uprising", and "40:1" songs from their live performance's at Woodstock 2012. The crowd is killers!!!
They are on my list. It shall happen :)
Im from Sweden and my favourite songs sabaton has made is definetly: Carolus Rex, Great war, the final solution and Attack of the dead men. Keep in mind alot of savarins songs exist in both english and swedish but you can really tell they where made to be sung in swedish. Be sure to check them out, Love from Sweden.
React to Raubtier en hjältes väg. Its a viking themed song and it translates to a heroes way.
On the list! Thanks for the suggestion. Viking themed is always welcome!
i was there, it was absolut magic. still having the goosebumps. your reactions are spot on!
I wish i could have been there too. But on the other hand...what would I react to...
Was there too and will never forgett it was great seeing the original and the New Band Play side by side
Joe-á-Kim is how you pronounce it! And I haven't seen anyone recommend Sabaton's cover of "twilight of the thunder god" originally made by the Viking-themed band "Amon Amarth". You should check them both out!
I can check the Sabaton cover as the original is by my favourite band and I know it well :P
He do like the song, as it is on the setlist with the screenplay and all. And they play it on 90% of their concerts. Its all a part of the show. Cant belive people havent figured that out yet.
Well... he does give the appearance he doesn't like it as much as others. But on the other hand... we enjoy it. And if he really didn't like it... I guess he wouldn't perform it...
@@VikingReacts He does and dosent like it, he likes it because it IS a good song and its fun to perform. But we keep demanding it EVERYTIME THEY PLAY xD so he's tired of singing it now.
So now they make a big deal out of it, joakim pretending not to know what song were chanting about until one of the band members "betray" him and he's forced to sing along haha
** During the gothemburg concert he tricked us by starting to chant and then switched to sing "I kissed a girl and i liked it" instead xD was hilarious
"40:1" live at Woodstock Festival 2012 for a REAL BIG crowd.
Ah, cool. I know now which one to pick :). Thank you!
I'm not even Scandinavian, but I want to go viking after listening to this! Every time!
You are just being Viking at heart... That is where it matters most!
Don't worry mate, there are Scandinavians out there who barely know the meaning of Viking and paganism. I weep for them! We shall feast in Valhalla and you are welcome!
In my eyes you are a true viking even though you are dutch (well so are Floor) And as you drew blood you are bound for Valhalla. All the best from Sweden:)
And just because it's become obligatory to say this in comments, the current Sabaton drummer, Hannes Van Dahl (the drummer with the long blond hair on the tank behind Tina) is married to Floor Jansen of Nightwish. 😊
Hahaha, I know. I even told my 5 and 8 year old earlier this week as they are now in love with Floor :)
From one viking to another ;) Check out "Brothers Of Metal", another swedish powermetal band all about vikings and norse mythology.
They are indeed on the list :). It shall happen!
Definately check out "Hel" or "To the Skies And Beyond". So awesome.
I tend to prefer Yggdrasil or Njord or Sleipneir myself
Skål!
You probably already have it on the to watch list but "En Livstid I Krig Live in Gothenburg" gotta love the crowd in this one. The crowd sings the whole first part for him
Actually... I've even reacted to it already ;). But always give me your suggestions. They are always appreciated!
@@VikingReacts oh wait you have. I'm stupid 😂 that's the video I found your channel on. I knew you had reacted to a swedish Sabaton song before but I think my brain must have thought it was Carolus Rex or something. You should react to that then, Carolus Rex (swedish version)
Brain farts can happen. I was about to go through all of those comments and would have replied there as well. I think I already saw your comment in there earlier today. But no worries...it shall happen!
They brought the old band members back for that night and played on both stages at once.
Someone called it Megaton! Love that name :P
Feels cool to be from the same country AND town as Sabaton, so this band lies close to my heart! ;D
Some of their old members played on this and some other songs at this gig.The former drummer Daniel Mullback.
When ever you get a chance I highly recommend To hell and back by Sabaton.
I checked real quick... and it is on the list. You can be assured that it will be done ;)
The thing about Swedish Pagans is that it's a great song, but it also has a really simple, easily recognizable chant thing that you can scream at the stage to make them play
Seems legit :P
Great reaction!🤘 Knew you'd like this song!😁 Check out Sabaton's "Lion from the North" (official music video), "Red Baron" (live from Berlin, 2020) and "Angels calling" feat. Apocalyptica (live from Vienna, 2020. More cellos there with Apocalyptica!)
I heard of Apocalyptica. I think my cuisin went to see them a few years ago... Never saw them though. Cool suggestions!
_"Lion from the North"_ ~ *The best there is!
Great reaction m8. If you like live and crowd control you should look out Uprising live on Woodstock Poland 2012. also Ghost division, 40:1 at same festival. all are great. keep up the great reactions om Sabaton.
I'll check it out. These have been highly suggested indeed ;)
Just discovered your channel yesterday and i love it. Hope to see many more reaction of the same music i love. Sabaton, Nightwish, Epica and so on. Definatly a new subscriber.
Welcome aboard! This is the music I like and I have lots of suggestions for exactly those bands. You can be assured that they will pop up a lot ;)
We both said WOW 😍😍 at the same time and it wasn't because of the band😁😁😁👍🏻.
But seriously......talk about getting your blood pumping! What a fantastic song.
And Tina looked gorgeous as always!
Thanks for another great reaction.
Greetings from Midgard🤘🏻👊🏻🐺
I think I know exactly what moment you are referring to ;). Blood went pumping due to many reason :P.
Glad you liked it and greetings from Asgard :P
If you love the crowd you must react to Blind Guardian - The Bard's Song & Valhalla - Live at Wacken Open Air 2016. It's awesome every time I watch it.
Brother, loving your reactions so far, quickest I have subscribed to a channel
Looking forward to more, especially Brothers of Metal, a band very close to my heart!
And as I'm writing on a Tuesday, Happy Tyr's Day
Skål
Welcome aboard! I am glad you like the videos bro! And Brothers of Metal will indeed be reacted to ;)
Skål!
I love this! this is exactly how i react to music, emotionally drags me in just like it does for you :D
The power of music. Just allow yourself to swept away by it :)
As a Dutchman, I am both surprised and disappointed that they have zero songs about our history. Between all the golden age armada fighting France, England and German city states at the same time and the woll stuff like the destruction of Rotterdam, there is a lot of epic material for songs there.
To be honest... I am Dutch and didn't even think of that yet. Who knows what the future may hold ;)
Dutch recognises Dutch😂😂😂
They're not done yet writing songs so have patience.
I mean, i can do with a song about the battle for the grebbeberg or the battle at ypenburg or whatever.
You said his name almost perfectly the first time you tried in this video. 😊
OK, I will watch and listen to myself to find out ;). Thanks!
Im proud to Swedish, one of the strongest people on earth :P Acording to Jordanes, Goths came from Sweden (we still have several places refering to goths, like Gotland) And as we know the Goths made Hispania and conquered Rome. And we conquered England in viking times. And the baltics and we were the varangian guard to the Rome emperor. And of course conquered Finland and Norway.
With that said im glad we are a bit more peaceful now :P Though we need that fightning spirit intact.
I have been a fan of Tina Guo for quite a while. I only recently found out she played with Sabaton on this song at Wacken. Must have been a thrill for her.
I think it is a thrill for all of us now :). I didn't know her yet. But to be fair... I am horrendous with names :P
@@VikingReacts You cannot know everyone. She is a livewire. Featured in countless movie soundtracks and many cover videos and some of her own compositions.

@@Rancid-Jane Just watched that promo video. She is a beast! I love that!
Knew you'd like this song brother! #HeathenHeart #PaganPride
Can't wait to see you react to Brothers of Metal and Amon Amarth!
Also if you wanna see another EPIC CRAZY Wacken crowd, you HAVE to react to Blind Guardian - "The Bard's Song & Valhalla" live at Wacken 2016! You'll feel like you're really there!
Enjoy your reactions as always brother. Blessed be. SKÅL!
Reacting to Amon Amarth would be more like showing people I already know them :P. That can be a series too though... I am thinking of guiding people through my musical history by showing them songs I know well. Who knows.
But brothers of Metal is unknown to me. It shall happen! Same goes for Blind Guardian btw...
SKÅL!
@@VikingReacts Ahhh... well good to know have such awesome taste in music (Amon Amarth fucking rules).
Brothers of Metal took me by surprise tho; it has an epic feel where you wanna go into battle, and yet there's beauty in it. I won't give too much away lol
I'll give you a few starter songs by BoM:
"Yggdrasil"
"Chain Breaker"
"Brothers Unite"
"Son of Odin"
"One"
maybe i'm a bit late with my comment but on this Wacken it was the 20th anniversary for sabaton and the 50th anniversary for Wacken. So they made a giant 2h!! long concert with both stages and some old sabaton member! It was a awesome show. Watched it so often :P
I don't care if you are late ;). You show passion for the band... no better time than now ;)
@@VikingReacts yeah I never heard metal before! Then one time I heard the song "the last stand" as my alexa ring tone and since then I'm a huge fan 🙂 would definitely recommend you to watch the "The Great Tour(The Great Saturday)" Playlist on their TH-cam page. They uploaded nearly every Song they did on their last Tour as a live version in different cities and countries!
I think "Carolus Rex" is more like "We will rock you"... just sayin
I don't know it yet... But that will change ;)
I'm so happy you decide to react to this. Btw I Don't know if you'll react to things other than music but I'm pretty sure there's a anime about Vikings now I haven't seen it but I think I might have heard it's pretty good so I just want to let you know. 😎
I plan to react to all sorts of things actually. The reason I started with music is simply because music has always been a good friend in difficult times. And with burn out, depression and anxiety in my life.... Music is the way to go ;).
Thanks for the tip though... What is the name of that show?
@YO Mama yes that one! 😎
My tag, Fengir.. is my own version of the Fenris wolf, ive had it as long as ive been playing PC games, all characters in EVERY new game is named Fengir! ^^
'T is a good name. Viking Approved!
It was at this Wacken performance that Sabaton brought back former members to play some of their songs. The used dual stages for that purpose. 40:1 is another good song from this set.
Someone called it Megaton. I love that name :P. And your song is on the list ;)
@@VikingReacts Skål! And may your horns be full always!
To VALHALLAAAAAAAA!!!! 🤘 This is my second favorite Sabaton song right behind Bismarck. Thank you for the totally awesome reaction to a truly fantastic song.🤘🤯🤘 Can you please react to Sabaton's Future of Warfare - Soundtrack version (Floor is in the choire of that version of the song.) and also the normal Live version of the song please. 🙏🙏🙏
Oh...Floor in a sabaton choir. I need to see that now! Glad you enjoyed this one. I sure as hell did! And I think it is awesome that I am starting to see people in the comments that come back and we basically have a conversation:)
@@VikingReacts I Love watching your video and interacting with you here and on Discord, you are definitely one of my favorite reactors. I also really enjoy it when reactors actually respond to comments. There are alot who say they read the comments but don't actually participate. That is why I love you channel so much. Viking familie 💜🤘😋🤘
If you like Sabaton, history, vikings, ancient warriors, then check out Hulkoff. Joakim guests on the song Ibor & Aio, so definitely you should check that out, or Varangian to start with. All their songs are worth checking out, but those are a good place to start.
Ok how about "Blind Guardian - Valhalla"?
Maybe their best live song.
blind guardian double video with bard's tale and valhalla. man that is a epic crowd to listen to.
@@NorwegianØ Yes that is super epic! But I love the acustic version of the bards song the best.
@@hnorrstrom True. Then again the original is basically a acoustic song though, even the concert is a acoustic version, just that the crowd is singing for some extra feels. Which makes it very feeling showing how much the fans know the song.
That is indeed on the horizon ;)

Try "sabaton lion from the north" Highly recommended!
And "Brothers of metal prophecy of ragnarök (lyric video)"
On the list :). It shall happen!
@@VikingReacts Plz do both the live and official lyrics video for lion of the north.
They did a collaboration with the band Apocalyptica for the song "Angels Calling", if you want to check out another song with a mix of metal and classical instruments.
Hell yeah I want to see that! It shall be done!
That wasn't Sabaton on Stage ... This was Megaton! They used both stages for a special 20th anniversary show at Wacken. The Current band was on the left stage and most of their ex-members on the right hand stage. This was an epic show start to finish! So yes, there was 2 drummers playing, during the show they played a drum solo across the 2 stages as well .. no idea how that pulled that off.
If thought this crowd was big, check out some video's from the Woodstock 2012 show .. there was only 650K people at that show...
PS: Told you you'll love this song :D
650k... that is indeed a massive amount of people! Damn! And indeed... 2 drummers doing a drum solo (duo?) is pretty difficult or so I can imagine...
i am real big fan of sabaton and of this song and of mythology ,execpially norse mythology . also they are working there next album hope it comes out some time this year.
Even more to react to :). Sabaton hasn't let me down so far. Can't wait!
"OF COURSE YOU FUCKING CHOSE THAT ONE!"

A bit late to point this out but, it is indeed the Midgard serpent (Midgårds ormen Jörmungandr)
I've just discovered your channel today. And I'm going video by video :D Your laughter is so geniue, it's just fun to watch. You would like to se huge crowd? Try anything from Polish Woodstock/Pol'and'rock ;) An definately, you have to check out Majestica (Christmas Carol)
See, told you so after your previous Sabaton reaction that this was the song for you! As for the extra drummer and such, on this Show in Wacken they used both stages so they called in former bandmembers to perform with them on the other stage, you see it better on other live videos from Wacken as this one mainly focus on the Cello. May i also suggest another Swedish band that i believe you will like Amon Amarth, check them out. Cheers from Sweden
Yup, this was the song for me :P. Thanks for suggesting it :). Amon Amarth is well known to me as I listen to them a lot on Spotify. I haven't seen any live performances though...so maybe I can do that!
4:13 is that axe blade dimascus(sp?) steel? Also a very appropriate song for you to react to
Yes it is :). And yes...it was!
As a viking at heart you should check out Brothers of Metal, a swedish band from the same town as Sabaton. They play viking theme metal with a touch of humor.⚔🤘
And I will ;)
You should give Hulkoff - Einherjr aswell as Hulkoff - Ibor & Aio feat. Jocke Brodén a listen my dude! Both Sabaton and Raubtier/Hulkoff are really popular with us swedish soldiers or.. Modern vikings if you will. And don't blame me if you accidentally charge out of your front door and start pillaging the neighbourhood, you have been warned!
If you like some not-everyday-instruments being used in metal, you should check out Eluveitie! Inis mona live @ Rockpalast 2019 for example :D
if you want to know who are the other members yuo should check out three songs by sabataon at wacken open air 2019. It was a specil show for sabaton because they had an aniversary in 2019
Wow, Tina is fantastic, she is a gem. I love her ❤❤❤
With this song there is always part of the audience who sit on the ground and start rowing :DD.
So this is the Metal version of "row row row your boat"?
@@VikingReacts That is a good way of putting it!
For more viking/norse mythology based power metal you should check out Brothers Of Metal. A band also from Falun Sweden. A group of friends that enjoy making norse mythology based music together and in the proces make awesome powermetal. Think you will love it!

And that...has to happen. No worries, they have been suggested a lot! It shall happen!
in this song you see the older and the actual bandmembers on 2 stages
I watched someone else his reaction after I was done editing and he mentioned that as well. Kinda cool if you think about it...
We all love swedish pagans. Everyone but Joakim haha
You should check Out Amon Amarth - Twilight of the Thunder God, Fafner's Gold, guardians of Asgaard, shield Wall,Raven's Flight,Raise Your Horns

I know ;). It shall be done :P
Amon Amarth - Twilight of the thundergod, if you havent seen that you really need to do that asap.
Well... I know it really well. But I have never seen any Amon Amarth video. So who knows...
jOakIm is how we pronounce it in swedish.. Slightly lower intonation on the I than the O.
and it is a hard O so the english word "mOvie" or just what the cow says "moo" comes pretty close.
i cant really write it phonetically so that is the best i can do for you at this time.
but yeah, i just felt like doing this because i frikkin LIKE you as a person, you seem like a nice laidback dude in touch with his manly emotions and that is something i can vibe with real well. :)
and i this is only the second of your videos i have seen.
Now listen to Bathory - one rode to asa bay . 🤟
You are the first to suggest these! I have added it to my list!
hey mokummer they played on 2 stages, on the right stage there were former Sabaton bandmembers, they did this to celebrate 20 ??? yrs. of Sabaton not quite sure with the 20 could be also 10 yrs...
I watched Tanks video after I was done editing my own and heard him mention this as well. Shame i didn't realize this only after i recorded this. I am really trying to not get ANY spoilers before I watch. Investigating any song beforehand is dangerous as I want to try and find out as much as I can by just watching and listening.
Skål from Haithabu. Noch ein Bier! Asa og vana
Noch ein Bier? Warum kein Met? ;)
Watch 40 to 1 from the same show make sure you watch the intro with par to! It'll blow your mind
Sounds like a plan ;)
You need Amon Amarth! And why not start with raise your horns official video :) you might even recognise a few others in the video.. or a lot if you are a metal head :)
Haha, I know them already. Haven't seen a single video of them though. So who knows...
Joakim is the best singer imo my mind cannot be changed
Have you heard "Valhalla Calling" by Miracle of Sound?
Yes, I absolutely love it!
You should do 40:1 at wacken 2019
If you’re looking for stage extremes, just look at live versions of Rammstein, on top of that, Deutschland is one of my favourite music video’s
Trouble is that I know a lot of Rammstein. I haven't seen the newer songs performed but I did see them live in 2005 ;)
hahaha sorry bruh! just commented another video and said.. if you are a viking you should listen to this.. and 5 minutes later i noticed that.... you had hahaha :P i love this song and yes this is not his favorite... but i have seen them live 4-5 times and this song is a given... probably because the shant.. oo oo oooo ooo ooo ... everybode knows it.. and its crowd pleaser... It´s not so much that he doesn´t like the song....
but I seem to remember that at some of their shows the crowd would use the intervalls between songs to start the chant of that song.

no need to watch after you get the right way to say it I hate when people say an "E" at the end
@@blueeyes1110 Haha, I wouldn't have. A verbal E doesn't make sense to me ;)
@@VikingReacts ya my first song I heard from Nightwish Was Amaranth an Anette song because duh Amaranthe is my favorite band along with Disturbed tied fun fact Elize Ryd of Amaranthe auditioned to replace Tarja actually her audition song was Nemo but Anette was picked and funny thing she and & Alissa White cover for a sick Anette Olzon during a concert at the Ogden Theater in Denver, CO, 2012 which lead to them getting Floor soon after
Do you like viking stuff? Waldruna ( they made much of the music too the serie Vikings) - Helvegen ft Aurora
That is indeed on my list of songs to react to :). And yes I do! Viking have always held some interest and as soon as people started calling me Viking because of my beard... my interest went into turbo drive!
Amazing!
And I have just recorded "Helvegen". That was something very special!
