3rd Gen 4Runner Fuel Filter Replacement

A quick and to the point guide on how to replace the fuel filter on your 3rd gen 4Runner.
Service interval is recommended somewhere between 40k-80k miles. To keep it simple I'd do it at 60k, or every other diff fluid/trans fluid change (every 30k)...

Good job young man! You gained a subscriber today. I have a 2001 4runner(Gemma) and I have enjoyed your content immensely. I had no idea about the subculture that is owning a 4runner. I am in the midst of an instrument bezel & AC/heater control led light swap myself. I've already been sent the wrong ones once. You should do a proper video on this conversion. I've seen alot of questions online but not alot of clear cut/definitive answers. I am a You tube mechanic and a video from you would have been a great help. Alas, I will be finished with my conversion before you could get a video completed. However, you will be helping the next guy greatly.

You didn't unplug fuel pump like others did. So, I'm going to do like you and just unhook negative terminal. I like that you primed it by turning key off and on except I think it would have started running sooner had key been left in on position a bit longer. Doing this to a 2001 4-Runner 3400 later on today. Thanks.

Hey I have a 98 4Runner and it’s been throwing p0171 code I replaced everything that could cause that code and it struggles getting up hills and if I floor it it’ll barely move and it’s hard to start it has no vacuum leaks o2 sensors replaced fuel pump replaced injectors replaced no leaks in the injectors maf etc replaced but I don’t think my fuel filter has ever been replaced did your 4Runner throw a code to make you replace the filter?
