I have autism, & everyone I know who is also autistic has a long list of other health issues. It’s not just issues. A lot of us have seizure disorders. Heck, I have cardiac issues, seizures, & just a long list of medical conditions.

@kaleigh glick Check out the gaps diet - book "gut and psychology syndrome" by Dr. Natasha Campbell Mcbride
She cured her son of autism! And the keto diet (which has overlap with the gaps diet) is proven to treat seizures!

Body ecology is better and more feasible for parents. Both are modified ketogenic diets but the difference is with body ecology starters they're specially targeted to pathogens while the gaps diet uses wild ferments which can make histamine and yeast overgrowth worse. HM0 prebiotic by layer origin in conjunction with body ecology is very good as well as using gaps meat stock techniques

@nick Hi Nick. Have you read the GAPS book? I have read the whole thing cover to cover. It's gold and so scientific. She addresses histamine and how people need to start extremely slowly with probiotics, and the main focus should be meat stock/bone broth. (Meat stock is lower histamine). She talks about the science of bacteria, each species, and what different drugs do to out body, and even the epithelial cell barrier and all the scientific details of that. Vitamin deficiencies. All of this in relation to autism, schizophrenia, depression, fatigue, arthritis, ibs and so much more. It was published in 2005 I think. She has since published a new version as well as other books. She talks about the terrible results of vegetarianism, why bone broth is necessary and nothing else can heal the loose tight junctions. There's no talk of blood types or food combining, alkaline and acid. She talks about how hard it is for the body to digest plants and the science of that. Doesn't talk about food expanding or contracting the body.
I just read a description of the body ecology diet and a preview of the book. Certain little bits seem good, like the wisdom of 80% full and 20% for expansion. But otherwise it felt very much lacking it real science in comparison to the gaps book which is highly descriptive in a very scientific, detailed evidence kind of way.
I have histamine issues. I'm so glad I started the gaps diet 9 months ago. This is it. I think it sounds like you haven't read the book. Check it out.
I can't imagine how blood types or food comining would be more important than the science of how the cell wall works and what the enterocytes /epithelial wall need to thrive. It felt like pseudo science to me. And then she still approves if millet and quinoa?? Missing some info there if you ask me.

This has been known for over 20 years. Sydney Feingold and Derek McCabe have been saying this forever. There are diets out there such as the body ecology diet, gaps diet, and wahls protocol. Often asd ppl are full of candida and forms of Clostridium that are present in others. They're missing bacteria involved in body detoxification.

@@M1s1i8 dude it's just information chill out. My point was the fact that this should be more widely known and the fact that it's just hitting mainstream yet microbiologists have been showing this in studies for 20 years is insane.

gonna throw an 'unorthodox' suggestion that i've been diving deep in for a while now:
      meditation, breathwork
when given the chance they can make BIG changes in ones' life, pioneers like Wim Hof and Joe Dispenza are sharing great things coming from these non-medicinal tools
and the best thing is: no damage in trying these things (if doing responsibly of course)
one could only hurt themself with meditation if they do it while driving a car,
and don't try a long breathhold when driving or swimming in a lake and no one looking after you
other than that... breathing and sitting still could hardly hurt,
so why not give those a try?
and the link to autism... well i have this theory that it can be learned and unlearned just like about everything else,
diagnoses are measured by signaling behavior after all
get the connections in your mind & body more in-line, and alot can happen,
i've found surprising stories and experienced some cool unexpected stuff myself!!
