Before starting, I still like the theory that Sonic was created by Gerald, and I've my own headcanon regarding the sequence of events. 1: The Biolizard was created. Due to the unstable growth and reliance on a life support system, it was deemed a failure. 2: The first "ultimate hedgehog" was created. As Project Shadow was initially started to cure NIDS, the Blue hedgehog was deemed a failure after catching a cold. He was put in suspended animation and dropped down to Earth to harmlessly disintigrate in the atmosphere. Spoiler: He lived, bitch(meme) 3: Gerald made contact with Black Doom and Shadow was created. Whether or not Shadow the Hedgehog was immune to all diseases and thus the Ultimate Lifeform... The Ark Raid happened before they could have a chance to find out. 4: a little less than 50 years later, someone found Sonic in suspended animation and revived him. Sonic was raised by this sophont and they eventually parted ways on good terms(let's say Sonic's parent was a Wanderer like him), leading into Sonic Origins.
