@@Azathoth4444 kfc India menu is more or less like everywhere else, there's a veg patty burger, chicken burger and fries with colas. And no they don't just chop us stuff and shove em in there if you meant that condescendingly. You're very welcome to visit sometime and try. Imagine paying $40 for 15 meals... There is a KFC right by my house and I'm pretty sure I could get MAYBE a 12 piece chicken and another item or two. In other words it's 5x cheaper. 15 items like that would cost me $200 or more.

it s a different economy .40$ means something different in each country . imagine getting payed 24 dollars per hour ofc a 1 dollar burger is cheap . but if you make less than 1 dollar an hour that flips the table . the ingredients they use is mostly local and they have to follow the market prices in that country .
Average salary is like 150 a month
Portion size in vietnam is much smaller too. And there's also the lax food hygiene laws.

I saw a video explaining that KFC flexibility through different markets is what made it dominate the Asian market over McDonalds
I'm lucky to have a chance to study college in Kentucky and munch on the original KFC for more than 2 years. Comparing that to the Thai KFC version in my home country today, I'd say ours is slightly more bland in taste. Moreover, people here love the crispy version over the original batter version by 9 to 1. Like there's 30 pieces crispy version on the waiting tray for only 3 or 4 pieces of original version. Most of all, the best seller is the crispy spicy (genuinely hot stuff) chicken rice bowl. In fact, this best seller dish sells so well, there are copycat crispy spicy chicken wings selling for a quarter of KFC's price in every local fresh market in most cities and towns. Most of all, KFC is by a huge margin best selling foreign fast food here.

Kfc bought the egg tart recipe from the wife of lord stow(famous bakery in macau) that is why they are amazing. I miss them so much :(

Totally agree with the egg tart rating! I had it in China and was so surprised by how delicious it was that I had to go out of my way and get more.

@@FoxRacingGaming not really. The portuguese invented it centuries ago based on french deserts and it was later introduced to China, arguably through portuguese monks or english merchants stationed in Hong Kong or Macau (which was a portuguese colony)
I had egg tart in Hong Kong. It was kind of boring. Then I had to go back for another one. In the end my wife and me went there every single day :) it's just fantastic food.

I was in Chengdu China a few years ago, they had the best chicken I ever had in KFC. Instead of ketchup they also give you this pepper/peppercorn powder, it is spicy and numbing. There is this special chicken burger that is seasoned with green peppercorn, another lever of delicious 🤤
That desert is an original portuguese desert Called pastel de nata or in English "Egg" Custard tart it was invented in Lisbon the capital of Portugal in 1837. And it ended up in Asia because of the Portuguese (Portugal) the OG Portuguese.

Absolutely love it!- even much more than the Chinese version; which uses a different crust. Would love to try the ‘original’ one day in Portugal. Best I’ve tried was from Macau & Hong Kong.
Btw, the ones sold in KFC that Sonny ate (also sold in many other ASEAN countries), are quite good too. I think they bought the recipe from a famous shop in Macau years back...can’t confirm, though

I'm a very curious person so if I had to choose out of all of the things on the menu I will try the seaweed soup I tried seaweed once by itself and I didn't really like it, but I would like to try it as in a soup. Yeah but us Asians already destroyed it. It is called "egg tart" and the texture and way of cooking is very different compare to the real ones in Portugal

The mashed potato balls with gravy is a brilliant idea. When I go to Popeyes, I always scrape some of the breading from the chicken into my mash for a more interesting texture. Creamy, salty, savory, but with a bit of crunch.
