    Keith, Your covered just about everything in this video the only point i would add is it‘s good for ( life ) certainly decades thats
    for sure, For classic cars that are off the road for winter or long periods of time there is no settling of the fluid. Cheers Dave

    Good stuff.. I think I wi6be running waterless coolant!.. I will only have engine to flush out & dry out as like I mentioned the rest of heating system will be new!

    I put in mine and mine creates a little pressure but no way as much as when running normal coolant

    This stuff was researched some years back and it was found to be neat glycol and the flush fluid is aquious glycol. I think there are benefits for some older vehicles where the radiator tubes are larger than some modern cars but the fluid is overpriced for what is is, just buy neat glycol which by the way is drinkable.

    It’s strange stuff isn’t it ! Looking forward to seeing how the long term tests go ! I wouldn’t mind running it in mine to be honest ? I think there’s more benefits than water based coolants . From what I remember on Carl’s K-series it actually made it run hotter ? And he was worried about ‘what if something went wrong , how would you know ?’ Apart from the gauge you’ve only got ‘pinking’ to depend on ........ good video mate

    Dude.. I am now within or under 1 month of catching up on all your Sprout and ERA videos.. watched them all minute for minute (no skipping). I also have Evans just waiting to be used although I have to do more research as our typical weather/environment is drastically different which makes me wonder if Evans will be the best choice.. good info..

      Thanks Randy, we should have a chat about Evans, I've done a huge amount of research on it and it may not necessarily be best in your climate

    Keith as you say some tracks have banned it I was just about to order some for my fiesta then realised it's not allowed on many tracks shame really as I really like the benefits of it

      I've yet to see a track in the UK where it is banned?

    Hello man good video
    Would you mind answering some questions if possible.
    Does the miji have a new operating temp?
    Did you remove the thermostat ?
    What ratio are you running with your water pump setup ?
    Thankyou sir

    • @classicminiworkshop
      @classicminiworkshop  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've not really noticed any difference. It may run a few degrees warmer but it's hard top tell. I still run the standard thermostat and the water pump ratio is standard. Not sure what that is.

    Hi Keith. Can I ask how your mini is doing with this now you have had it for a few years. I have a Cooper sport 500 mpi which I am thinking of putting it in after new rad, hoses, thermostat, pipes, hester matrix etc renewing and replacing it all

    • @classicminiworkshop
      @classicminiworkshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm still running both my MPI minis on it. I've not noticed any detrimental effects so far.

      @@classicminiworkshop thanks. I know this stuff really divides but as I am overhauling everything and going to give it all a good flush I think it absolutely makes sense. Can't see a logical argument to not use it

    • @classicminiworkshop
      @classicminiworkshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tommorris9405 I did lots of research on it and there are loads of YT videos on it. I think it makes sense in a classic although I wouldn't use it in a high-performance engine as it will never cool as well as plain water. Aside from that, it's a little pricey for what it is. I would definitely use it again in a classic Mini though

    Is the heater still working efficiently.

    • @classicminiworkshop
      @classicminiworkshop  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, there is no reason it shouldn't, it still flows and transfers heat the same as water does

  • @TornadoCAN99
    @TornadoCAN99 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Some drawbacks I can see: If/When you happen to lose coolant while out on the road (ie. a hose failure etc.), no easy top-up resources ready to use. With standard fluid, any local shop/filling station or even a lake can get you by. There's a reason why no auto manufacturer in the world uses this stuff as OEM. Seems like a solution to a non-existent problem.

    • @classicminiworkshop
      @classicminiworkshop  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree with the drawbacks regarding hose failure but consider with lower pressure in the system the chance of hose failure is greatly reduced. Obviously you still need to account for deterioration of the rubber / plastics from age / oxidisation. From what I can see Evans is used by a few OEM's including Honda but only in racing. As I say in the video, it's not better than water for heat transfer and that is no doubt why you wont find OEM's using it on modern engines that require maximum cooling efficiency but from my (limited) experience so far (I will update after further testing), the reduced pressure, and elimination of corrosion in an cast iron block such as an A series is desirable. From the research I have done I would not use this on a modern engine but on a classic I'm happy so far subject to longer term testing.

    What's the update on it does it work well does it stop inside rusting?

    • @classicminiworkshop
      @classicminiworkshop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Spot on after 2+ years. No rust, no issues. I use it in both my MPI Minis

    They banned waterless coolant for track racing because it was to slippery.

    • @classicminiworkshop
      @classicminiworkshop  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I mention that in the video although I've yet to find a race track that specifically bans it?

    I would like to point you over to matt Hudson's channel "the workshop" and please think twice before putting that rubbish in your car.

    • @classicminiworkshop
      @classicminiworkshop  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I watched that. He is mainly talking about high reving, high performance motorbike engines. Not a classic car. I agree with a lot of what he has to say but like I say there is a big difference between an A series in a classic car and a motorbike engine. I will keep everyone posted how I get on with it.
