Thankyou
Tom, I'm sorry to hear about your grandad, he sounded like a great roll model. Bereavement is the reason I first got the spanners out on my restoration. Mini projects are a wonderful family bonding experience and help with the grief. On you last comment of trying, you sir don't have to worry. From what I see with the house restoration and this channel as well as the general editing skills and attention to detail, not to mention I see you have replied to every comment below shows us just how hard you try and the fantastic results you achieve. Keep it up and bring on the noise 👍
Thankyou so much for this nice comment! It means a lot are your words are so kind 🤘🏻 peace and love 🤘🏻
@@TomShorrock very welcome mate! Ed
Great video Tom and sorry for your loss dude! Your video really hit me in the feels
RIP 🙏
Thanks Weymo it means the world
@@TomShorrock ❤️❤️
Sorry for your loss of your grandfather and now your grandmother too Tom. Often there is no rhyme nor reason as to why things happen, and at times life can be very tough and cruel. But I’m sure both your grandparents were extremely proud of you and all you’ve achieved. You’ll have them in your heart forever. Someone once said “Don’t cry because it’s over, Smile because it happened “. Cherish their memories, talk about them often and they’ll always be there to watch over and guide you. Take care bud ❤️
The nicest and most heart felt words, Thankyou so much! It’s a struggle but I’m sure I’ll get through it
Another exceptional video Tom. I always admire the detail and perfection that you bring to each task and the results speak for themselves. A very emotional end to the vid, got a proper lump in my throat watching it. I totally agree with the ethos of living life to the full after nearly losing mine in a road accident almost twenty years ago to the day. Thoughts and best wishes to you and your family, Tim.
Thankyou so much, it really does mean the world when people drop comments like this, I’m so glad your still here to tell the story. Really appreciate it Tim Thankyou
Another brilliant update tom, a very sad ending though, I'm sure that your grandad will be watching over you to make sure that you reach your goals in life, RIP Alf ❤

So sorry to hear about your grandfathers passing pal😥
Cheers Chris appreciate it
sorry for ya loss bro

Curious, why not just drop the subframe with the engine and transmission attached?
As I’d need to lift the car higher, remove battery cables etc and didn’t want to disturb anything as the subframe is perfect aligned
@@TomShorrock hint the hard to get bolts nuts. Get an 8 to 12 year to help ; )
Condolences Sir. 🇿🇦
Thankyou, it is much appreciated
Id love to enter to win that engine, BUT shipping and duty would MURDER me getting it to New Zealand! Best of luck to the others!
That’s the only problem I wouldn’t even like to think of how much it would cost haha
Sorry for your loss Tom, I feel for you , but tbh, I felt more for you at 6min 12 seconds into the vid
Thankyou! And tell me about it! That didn’t bloody half hurt 😂
Nice. Apparently Toon is going to smoke you though?
A toon can dream 😉
❤
Thankyou
Ndbfbsksocksnandkrkwndlwn - keyboard mess 👍👍.
Great videos man. Love the work and content. Stunning car ❤️.
What a loving tribute. Hope your doing ok.
Hahah! Love the keyboard mess! Cheers dude! Really appreciate it it means a lot!
Uprating a mini is fraught with problems a big increase in power requires brakes handling drive train tyres etc you often find the extra power soon finds weaknesses. Far better in my opinion is to have a track car on trailer and a stock on the road .
💪🏻
What type of exhaust you using.
Still not telling what type of Exhaust system you are using on your 1380 i ambuilding one so i would like to know the best type.
After this the car still classic??
Very much so, it’s the original engine, just modified with vintage parts
Last conversation, no way your gonna be working on the mini talking to him and he’ll find a way to let you know their also with you
My grandma recently passed away also, sorry for your loss also
thankyou!
Someone should be manufacturing these still and forcing every high school in the USA to completely disassemble and reassemble every year for a class to learn the basics of cars.
I agree!
Rest in peace .
Cheers Pete! Means a lot!
The older people know their stuff pass on good know how.
Could I win? I live in Vegas . Peace to your grandad.
Happy to let you enter as long as your willing to cover your own shipping?
Thanks dude
Please accept my sincere condolences 😔
Thanks Taffy
Why build the car in the first place, having spent all that money on bodywork to put a 998 back in, crazy.
Even the 1380’s aren’t that fast, it’s more a bare minimum they need than making it ‘fast’
Hope it’s a proper 1380 with a decent cam and head and not some limp-wristed mild cam afair?
I couldn’t afford to put a big engineer in it, at first I was an apprentice on poor money.
This is why I’ve now put a 1380 in it.
If you watch episode 2 of the series I have all the engine specs there
@@TomShorrock think I would always do the engine first as the other superficial mods must’ve cost a bit. That’s me though, I stuck a modified metro turbo lump with around 170hp in a faded russet brown mini 850 that looked completely std and left it looking shite with poor paint, but my god did it upset some folk when it went, nobody expected it!
So sad!
Thankyou for your comment ❤️
