    We have been preparing Aval upma for many years with the same Ingredients mentioned. But, the sequence of adding them to the Dish seems to make all the difference for the Upma to go lumpy. And I used to soak Aval completely. Now I know what not to do. thanks for the simple tips, Chef!

    A handful of peanuts in this dish gives a good crunch and bite, personally I prefer peanuts more than cashews ! Yummy!

    I add ground nut instead of cashews and finally add coconut..it I'll be toooomuch yummy ....and no need to add hot water for avalakki.. just wash and keep for sometimes it il be soft enough..

    Paper aval is available in Karnataka, we can mix it with Jaggery, cardamom . Very very easy and used as naivedya to lord Krishna
