I feel like some of the lyrics in this song are Ramuh warning/advising the WoL regarding the Ascians (the worm) and on what WoL will have to face to defeat them
Easy to say that in retrospect, but really this song is about the greed of man. Ramuh is a deity primarily concerned with the preservation of nature. The aspirations of man are antithetical to Ramuh's goals. The worm is greed and the means by which man will manifest that greed and attain their goals.
@@ryno4ever433 Ramuh actually works really well to set up Heavensward in that sense, as both narratives deal with the cruelty and greed that lie in the heart of mankind. Like Ramuh, Midgardsormr and Hraesvelgr have been disillusioned with humanity by the time we meet them. We have to prove to them that man is able to rise above his avarice, and that peace between men and the other creatures of the world (in this case, Sylphs and Dragons) isn't just a doomed dream. And we have to prove ourselves to them: not only that we actually do carry the right convictions, but that we have the strength to see them through and _enforce_ the peace we preach.
@@ryno4ever433 And Ramuh was truly right. Man's own greed would be its downfall, as later expansions soon prove as well. Even the downfall of races other than man.

This, it makes the game trying to shift the WoL in Stormblood into someone who just has a rageboner for primals so jarring. But generally Stormblood had a few very....questionable narrative choices.
I feel as if Ramuh knew far more than he led on somehow. Or at least knew something was different about WoL. There's no way they planned this far in advance realistically, but the way it lines up is so perfect. And is basically instructing us on "The Worm" that plagues men and how it must be stopped. Though despite understanding that you're different, you still must face judgement, "Thine own hell" which I would assume is the combat WoL is forced to participate in, and thus with Ramuh as well. Despite this, I think Ramuh understand that WoL will prevail. That they should "Lift thine heavy head and vanquish thy sorrow". Lightning will strike, thunder will roll as storms will always come and go. Knowing that, "Now turn thy gaze ahead and look to the morrow". Struggles are ever prevalent, the next storm will always be upon you, but will soon pass as all do. "Lightning shall strike, thunder shall roll on".
