I recently finished the AeroNaut Bella, great kit. Though like you, I had the same trouble getting the front of the hull joined. I got exactly the pins mentioned in the instructions and they were nearly useless.
Miss Adventure. Some old kits need to be resurrected I dare say. I always add a thick strip of balsa wood along the edge of the bulkheads/formers to give me something to push pins or nail braids into should the need arise.
I've built 2 Chris Crafts, both Dumas models. one is a 1/8 scale 1949 19 foot racing runabout, and the other is a 1/12 scale 1954 Commander 36 foot express cabin cruiser. Your model looks like it went together easier than mine which is all hand planked. Best of luck, looks like you're off to a great start. 👍
have you ever considered adding fiberglass to line the inside of the hull and then resin lead shot to the bottom inside the hull.....(on a boat of that size 3-4 kg's of shot should crevice) .....once that is done. add closed cell foam in between the hull frames and then glue 1mm veneer on top of the frames sealing all of that in........not only will you get an extremely stiff hull, you get flotation..."just in case" and the added weight gives a truer ride in the water.....adding weight and stiffness to the lower hull needs to be a priority in model building.....if you are building to scale...shouldn't weight be a part of that scale?....just saying....
I’m not planning on doing any of that. I’m making the boat as per the plans. I might add some weight once I’ve seen how it sits in the water. But it will primarily be a display piece so won’t be sailed heavily.
I love rc boats and i never knew such kit exist until i watch this video
Glad you liked it.
Wow that’s a beautiful looking boat kit 👍😊
Thank you 🤗
Happy New Year Peter, lovely kit.

nice to see chine-rails on a German kit , usually they dont have them and you get a huge bow wave going right up , and onto the deck in places !
