Blimey! Has there been a break-in at the local Power Tools store? I never knew you had so much gear!!
You can never have too many tools 🧰 🔧🪛🪚🗜️🧰🔩🔨🪓
Great project. Does it need some drain holes in the base?
No need. The birds eat all the seed and then I just clear off the waste with a dust pan and brush.
I see the birds have already given it their seal of approval. Thanks for the videos throughout the year and looking forward to another year of Misadventures in Modelling. Merry Christmas to you and the family and a happy a safe New Year.
Thanks for watching. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
Cool project. Well done.
Thanks 👍
Looks great..
Thank you! Cheers!
How much filament ?
Check out the other comments 😉
Merci Joseph pour ce partage et, plus généralement pour ce Partage. Quel réel plaisir d'avoir partagé cette année musicale avec toi... Vivement la prochaine... Amicalement.
Thank you. My name is Peter, not Joseph.
@modellingmisadventures Sorry. Wrong sending. Thank you anyway Peter for sharing your talented modelling adventures which I am very fond of (as well...🙂)
Could you please let me know the codes for both Oracovers red and cream. Fabulous job. Best regards, Stuart.
Sorry, don’t have those codes.
Bit of a mission! Looks good.
Thanks 👍
Aren’t you going to paint it?……Knobs, screen etc……
Yes, of course, but I’m going to do all the instruments at the same time.
@@modellingmisadventures i have also painted my parachute to give it a flat colour and bring out the detail the instrument dials are available in 1/32 scale on hannants
Tumbleweed, have you tried the Eduard set on the Hachette kit?
What is the total cost?
About 2800 Australian dollars (1400 GBP)
no dials on any of the instruments
That’s a bit for us to do!
I find myself in a bind. Not one who would build a MAGAZINE KIT, due to cost and quality of build, but being in the position where I have packed all my modelling kit away temporarily, the attraction of putting a kit together that requires no painting or tools to build is attractive. If the end result is a quality model i believe it would offer a decent project.
I have done a number of magazine builds: Red Baron’s fighter plane The Bounty The solar system (a working orrery) Earth, moon, sun orbiter James Bond DB5 Routemaster bus S for Sugar Lancaster bomber Dambusters Lancaster bomber All of them have been high quality models. You do come across small glitches but I’ve always been able to sort them out.
Iv just been given the Hull for the fully complete but with no top/wheelhouse/ bridge ect can you buy that part of the kit separately ?
Not that I’m aware of.
@modellingmisadventures looks like a home made jobby it is then thanks for the reply really appreciate it
If you could get hold of the Tamiya kit you could use that to get the parts right. Or you could just buy the SLEC kit and not build the hull.
that is really nice!
Thank you! Cheers!👍
You say you don't know what a recuperator does but there's a clue in the name. It recuperates. Hope you found this helpful. Actually, I was interested to know what it did too and a quick Google told me it is basically a heat exchanger, warming incoming air needed onboard. I imagine any heating was well received by those brave lads. It's interesting following your build of this Lanc. I've always thought the people who built the deAgostini Spitfire and such were mugs when you calculate the cost - you know, 100 issues at £10 a pop, when you could buy a kit far, far cheaper. But your build shows the parts of this particular model as beautifully crafted and worthy of a bit of expense. I am enjoying the series and am looking forward to seeing more details and ultimately the finished item. You made a great job of the Chris Craft boat by the way. I'm not a boat man - mostly a glider guider - but I appreciate the skill and effort that went into it. Great job indeed.
Thanks very much. I think that people who scoff at the cost of these models really don’t know how good quality they are. I’ve made a number and they simply can’t be bought cheaper from a model shop.
Thank you.. I have an Iggy with no clothes so can't use templates.. I still want to dress him/her.. so this has given me some idea.. were they buttons you used.. I was looking all over for the original clips but as yet haven't found
I think the black studs might have been teddy bear eyes from a craft store but buttons would be fine as well 👍
Knowing your attention to detail I thought you might have put a servo on those guns so you could turn them round as you were sailing! Credit to you.
I did think about that but decided against it. 👍
Stunning build, turned out superb and well built
Thank you very much!👍
Fantastic job! This really looks beautiful, the 3D printed parts give a super detail to the guns.
Thank you 👍
Grande!
Thank you 👍
There are lots of fiddly bits
I've got this I'm on issue 43 it's going to be an amazing working model
Yes, it came out much sooner in the UK. Only just started in Australia 🇦🇺
Come on dude , you can do waaaaay better with that chain and rope , do not slack of the last pieces . 🙄🙄🙄🙄👎👎👎👎And now put some crew on.
Sorry you didn’t like it. Finding crew for this boat is challenging. The only ones I can find are the 1/35 scale Italieri PT boat crew.
Not that i did not like it but is could be inproved that's it , and yes 1/40 is a bit of a weird scale for crew . Or somebody could print some? 😁😁👍👍
Well done.
Thanks very much 👍
Well-done so much work looks great, looking forward to the next vid. For some reason I cannot get onto the web site, could you please send me it, I must be doing something wrong. Thanks.
Thank you. It’s just the SLEC website. If you google that it will come up.
What a fantastic series of videos, thank you so much for taking the time and effort to video the build, your attention to detail is amazing, I've just started my build, I'm up to fitting the side skins to the hull, if mine comes out half as good as yours I'll be over the moon, looking forward to a running video,
Great to hear. Hope you enjoy the rest of the build 👍
outstanding!
Thank you 👍
I’ve been building the same kit. I deviated after completing the deck by completely rebuilding the upper superstructure and 95% of the deck fittings using the Tamiya Perkassa kit as reference in plasticard, strip and rod. I have yet to build the guns from scratch as you rightly mention the 3D printed kits from Shapeway are no longer available as it appears the company is no longer. I will scratch build those too using the Tamiya kit parts as reference. Enjoyed your build 👌
Wow, that sounds like a lot of work. Why did you abandon the wood?
@@modellingmisadventuressimply because it was very un-scale. Replicating the deck fittings in plasticard, strip, rod, ect was easy enough using the Tamiya kit as reference( I managed to keep all the Tamiya parts on their spruces and will re-sell the kit on ebay for about £100 soon!), it gives a better finish that’s trying to fill wood grain for prime and paint. Yes, it is very time consuming re-making all the parts, but i enjoy the challenge. The only vacform parts i used was the torpedoes and lifeboat canisters Printing the replacement parts in 3D would be an even better solution, but I don’t have the equipment to 3D print. I’ve managed to get a full set of crew from my friend Dave over at Drydock 3D in resin and although they are a US Naval set, they are about the right era and scale and will look great on the Perkasa after painting
I’ll have to look into the figures you have come across. I can 3D print my own but I can’t find suitable files.
Very nicely made
Thanks a lot 😊
Well done Peter, looks great.
Thanks very much 👍
Could you please do a radio controlled episode in this building on
Will do next time 👍
Grande!!!
Thank you 👍
Great job, looks bloody nice. You have far more patience than me gluing all those fiddly bits. I also like the final weathering which is just enough and not overdone some modellers do. You can have too much weathering on models sometimes. Also, I can't help wondering how they launched the torpedoes. The US PT boats had deck mounted torpedo tubes.
Thanks. I haven’t seen how these deck mounted torpedoes were launched. It looks like they could only be tipped over the side.
Fantastic model made by an amazing modeler, enjoyed every episode, looking forward to the next one.Well done! 😃
Many thanks! Glad you liked it 👍
Some weeks ago I told you I was going to start building a model of my son's 35 foot cruiser. i was going to send a photo but i could not attack it how do i send it
I’m not sure either. Perhaps try posting it as a comment.
How I can get this model
Got to ask how many rolls of filament did this monster take to make, bet a few days of printing too... Pretty awesome, had the Airfix kit as a kid at the larger scale but it's rare now and expensive.... This is the way to go 3d printing..... Cool.
I can’t remember exactly but probably only 2-3 white and 1 black. The large Saturn V plastic kit was made by Revell and was 1:96 scale. Still have an unmade one in my collection.
Looks fabulous, i would like to see a 1:6 version radio controlled!
That would be huge - twice the size of this one 😲
Gob Job ❤
Thanks 👍
By the way your videos are great lot of ideas.
Glad you like them! 👍
Is the main body hollow? I watched the print but wondered if you wanted access to main body is it empty or is it filled with a support structure that cant be removed? Thank you
The main body is filled with 15% support material. When you print an object you can set the infill to whatever you like, ranging from 0 to 100%.
@modellingmisadventures so not like the forward cabin is a "hollow" space so the back is not if I cut rear hull open it is a honeycomb like structure, I want to put radio control equipment in her
Dove si comprano la scatola di montaggio grazie
Sorry, which box do you mean?
Is there an stl file?
Check out all the videos.
@modellingmisadventures thank you
very nice job👋👋
Thank you 👍
Did I see that right ? Only one pilot, no side by side pilots ?
That’s right, only one pilot on the Lancaster.
At 5.01 you can see up by the control yoke a small hand wheel, this is where an additional control yoke can be fitted, although it would not normally be fitted, it gave a limited additional training ability, we did use the function on the BBMF Lancaster back in the 70's. The additional pilot would sit on the Engineers fold out seat.
@@davegoldsmith4020Thanks for that insight. Amazing that you actually worked on one.
Have you seen the model the guy built he can fly in?! 😱😁👍👍🇺🇸
I’ve seen one, but it was a B17.
HM to order that?.here in the Philippines..i like that..pm
You can look online for it. You would probably have to import it from the UK or Europe 👍
thx for sharing! you are bold! I like it that you modefy it. Great explanation and great energy! Please keep going
Glad you liked it! 👍
Do you have a source for RC electric boat kits or plans? I am looking for a military style boat, perhaps wwii that would go with rc warbird planes.
You can easily find these models online or at certain model/hobby shops. Check out Cornwall model boats, Steve Webb models or Leeds model shop.
