hi ... thanks for this helpful video ..one more question .. I have two subtitles one of them timestamp is perfect and another is text perfect but time stamp is not correct ... how can transfer the all timestamp from the subtitle to the one timestamp is not correct please ...thanks
Subtitle Edit Visual Sync is unusually finicky regarding the start and end times. If the interval between start and end is small enough, it may erroneously report that the start and end are out of order when attempting to Sync.
This is an awesome video. Exactly what I needed to resync the video and the subtitle that are running at different speeds, not a fixed difference in time but the video runs slightly longer than the subtitle. I will try this tonight.
Hello, I have two files of subtitles (SRT format). I'd like to merge them in a way that the subs will have timing of the first file but the text of the subs will be from the second file. Basically, I have english subs with the right timing and translated subs with wrong timing. I'd like to get the translated subs with the right timing. Is there any easy way? I didn't notice any option like that in Subtitle Edit (or maybe I haven't found it) TYVM
Thank you for all your videos. Does this program have an option to generate time stamps transcribe)? or do I stop at every line I hear and write the translation?
In the latest BETA, there's an option to automatically transcribe and subtitle your videos. Here's how it works. th-cam.com/video/u1aJslZMjIg/w-d-xo.html Thanks!
Thank you for the tuto, but could you explain the principles behind this visual sync? why Subtitile Edit is able to sync every subtitles only because we adjust the first one and the last one? I have a hard time of understanding how it works...
Please help. When I hit the Sync button then the OK button, the program closes. Why? Where is my synced subtitle??? I'm using the latest version of Subtitle Edit on Windows 10. UPDATE. As a last resort I uninstalled it and re-downloaded/re-installed it. Then it worked! Wow, I had downloaded and installed it only a week ago and already it got corrupted. I guess it's a little buggy, but at least i have it working now!
ONCE MORE, EXCELLENT EXPLANATIONS! THANKS A LOT! I JUST HOPE, THAT I WILL BE ABLE TO TINKER WITH THE SOFTWARE TO FIND THE RIGHT PLACES FOR THE BEGINNING AND THE END OF THE SUBTITLES! THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR TUTORIALS! THEY ARE INVALUABLE! LOVE AND TAKE CARE!
My problem is with hardcoded subtitules i change subs that i wanna translate but after and i see them bigger and yellow but after that when i wanna play it on PC i see them by default:(
Thank you, this helped alot. I have a question, on the audio track, each time when I press the right arrow key, the blue line to add the subtitle will skip to the next 10s which makes it hard for me to add subtitle at specific time. Is there a way to adjust the amount of skip time each time I press the arrow key? Hope I'm making sense 😅
answer: You don’t ! What you propose is what you get when subtitles are made simultaniously word by word. The effect you describe is a consequences of necessity - not a defined and desired result.
How do I fix the subs partially? In my case, subtitles up 9 minute mark are perfectly fine. But after that, there's a theme song in the video but not in the subs so they get about 3 minutes early.
The only thing that's clear in this video is using the menu 'Synchronization' and 'Visual Sync...' command. After that I don't understand a thing. Your explanation isn't clear at all 😟
@@David_Mbugua The problem is.... ...it doesn’t The audience needs to see faces of people talking and the related subtitles. The text displayed in the video only adds to the confusion. Besides.... You need to focus on the basic things: Getting the start- and the end point right. Once that is accompliced usually 98% of all subtitle texts falls into line - no need for fancy audio curves since you can’t the tell narration from background sound anyway. Just establish knowledge of the timings of the first and last line spoken or displayed represented in the text - then you are usually good to go.
thanks for this. subtitle syncing sounds like an easy job but the UI makes it hard to know what to do. it isn't beginner friendly
Excellent explanation! Thank you. I liked it because it explained the point of the video directly and it was short. This is really a great video!

For srt., without duration in each subtitle. When everything is 00.000, does it works too?

How do I extravt the video to a movie
Thanks man

I did this but the times are still way off
How you make captions to move flouent and to show word by word? Do you hava a video for that?
answer: You don’t !
You should not use the proposed approach at all - only point synchronization.
Cool! Thank you! Great tutorial.
You're welcome.
Thank you very much , great job, great help :)
Thank u very much.
You are most welcome.
*Does this trick work in mobile?* 🤔
Subtitle Edit is not available on mobile. Sorry.
@@David_Mbugua Sir please send the list of subtitles related apps which work in mobile.
te quiero mucho morochin gracias
I'm really confused. How is this better than just looking at the waveform itself.
it does not need to be the first and the last subtitle. It is best when one is somwhere from the front and the other from the back.
thank you
You're welcome.
Nicee
Thanks.
Yo let me do try this. Very helpful!
You're welcome.
thx bro
Welcome.
very bad method, probably this isn't the right program for me, i'm looking for a faster way to do it (maybe automatically)
Why I don't understand nothing????
great
thanks

The only thing that's clear in this video is using the menu 'Synchronization' and 'Visual Sync...' command. After that I don't understand a thing. Your explanation isn't clear at all 😟
I used it and it gave very bad results. It's completely inaccurate. I'm sick of "thank you" comments.
pfuahh ..I'm sick of these (hundred plus) pointless "thank you soooo much" comments ...you seem to be a nice person but this seems to be soo faked
You have really chosen a BAD example to work with - use a real film !
Sorry to hear that. I hope the video drives the Point. That's what's important.
Thanks!

This is a very bad solution. If you choose a subtitle with more lines, it will look bad.
