Great car drove the 118i 136bhp 3cyl twinturbo maybe it's not a lot but if you know how to drive her she'll give you the smile you need in every Apex
116i = 136hp
NeuSatz72 Nope the 118i LCI has 136 hp
I have owned a 118i SE for over 2 years. There are flaws: as well as the ride issues the reviewer mentioned the cockpit ergonomics are poor, seats on this basic model are not very supportive and mine did not come with sat nav (now standard). However, there is more room than suggested, certainly more rear seat legroom than the A3 that I looked at, and the boot is more than adequate for luggage for two or a weekly shop. That 1.5 engine is an absolute peach, it has plenty of low down torque, spins freely and encourages spirited driving. The 1Series is a great alternative to the trend of driving around in more car than you need.
yes, the seats must be from the M-Sport otherwise not very good
@@mickadatwist1620 pretty sure the m sport had identical seats to the sport just with different suede material as standard
BMW's used to be really smooth and have a " floating on air" suspension. However they were pretty tail happy in wet or icy conditions.
Some mention, or comparison of prices would be welcome. Does it have the classic BMW displaced pedal layout?
What the fuck are you on about firm rides. Did you have granite for wheels on this test? It is on par with the VW golf and It is one of the best ride in this sector.
I have a 63 plate 2ltr bmw 1series 116d I have it a few months 59000 miles and I love it I was at bmw dealers a few days ago got them to check mine they had a listen to the engine reving at 1500 and they said it was all good as I read afew storeys about timing chain but as I say was all good
Thing is I forgot to ask
Is this a problem on this year of the
1 series
Would appreciate some expert advice
If anyone knows
I know this is already an old comment, but I will reply regardless. It was more of an issue in older diesel models (2004-2009) as they later added a different cam chain tensioner if I'm not mistaken. Unfortunately this issue didn't completely go away and I've read reports of newer ones experiencing similar issues, so I would continue to regularly inspect it. The least you can do is open the bonnet here and there and try to listen if there are any unusual sounds coming out of the back of the engine bay in order to avoid a costly repair job
Thanks for the video! Do you have a review for the 2016 120i M Sport?
+Samir Samir We don't tend to do review specific trim levels but review cars as a 'range'.

I like your LED light do you think that fit my car I go BMW 1 Series 2016 118i
Great review ! and beautiful bmw 116d Standard with FULL LED headlights ! I am gettin one in Black Saphir Metallic very soon
The M135i is the best hot-hatch!
I purchased a new BMW 1 in 2013 in Portugal that this 2017 /2018 winter put water in the suitcase and destroyed various electrical systems due to a defect in fence, besides having put in question my safety and my family.
The BMW dealer in Portugal, Caetano Retail of V.N.Gaia assumes no liability despite all the revisions being made religiously in the mark and the problem is notoriously a manufacturing defect.
I intend to solve the problem according to the premium service with which I have always been accustomed by BMW.
I have this car, 120i, bought 6 months ago and I'm getting terrible fuel economy, errrr 11L/100kms?
Aaron Ming hi i bought 118d xdrive m-sport 18 inch wheels and I get 5,4 L 100kms its a Great car 150 hps
Aaron Ming get a diesel bro
its a very good fuel consumption, i have a chipped 116I and in Bucharest less than 10 is not consuming.
Real noisy car! tyre noise is shockingly loud, time for an Audi or VW Golf!
Dont put cheap tires! thats the answer. I have 118i 2019, with 17inch wheels and pireli runflats, no tire noise whatsoever. :)
total shift.
you obviously know nothing about style. Compare Bangles Bungles to todays 5 series 7, 6,3,4. The 1 is still a Bangle Bungle no matter what you do with the rear lights.
the kind of car I'd buy for work only.
Hanisah Masri yeah, ‘cause u can’t afford to buy one yourself!
Will this ever become a classic car in years to come? No. It’s ugly new and it’ll be ugly old. As common as tarmac and about as head turning too.
Jay M, it’s a 1987 model actually. But I’d still rather stick folks in my legs than drive an overpriced car.
another damm ugly BMW
bet you can't afford one
Another damn ugly comment
I can guarantee you're ugly
i think it looks slick
