Thank you the fix worked. I called a mobile mechanic and even he had issues getting the location correct as far as where the sensor was! this video was a great help, even to him!
You were right - there IS no room for that doghouse without removing the console! Thanks for a great video - local shop wanted almost $300 for this job.

There is a screen down inside the hole that gets clogged and should be changed with the sensor. I put in a new sensor and pressure was still showing low on the gauge. It took the dealer to tell me about changing the screen.
I have a 2003 Chevy Express 1500 Conversion Van (labeled as Explorer), it has Vortec 5300 V8 SFI Gas engine. Could you let me know where is the engine oil pressure sensor located? I am having a hard time finding this sensor.
Ok maybe you can help me out I have a 2001 chevy express 1500 with a 5.7 160,000 miles just bought if from a guy had good oil pressure then just started dropping to 0 replace the oil sensor and oil pump not getting any leaks first start up goes to 40+ after like 5 mins drops to like 2 any ideas of what else I can try or is the motor pretty much shot from carrier bearings being bad
Also spotted that . I'm sure this wasn't a repair just demonstration. Sensors were clearly different colors. I really like his videos. Straight to the point and explains things well . I hope he keeps up the good videos
I saw on another video that a the oil pick up filter straw has an o ring that goes bad so it sucks air and causes low pressure, you have to drop the pan. let me know if this was your problem you can email oregon outdoor sports I am having the same problem of low oil pressure

Hello, do you know if your van had an oil screen inside that hole you took the sensor out?
What kind of sensor is before / next to it ?
Is it okay to clean the sensor and the hole where the sensor goes with beriman b12?
is there not a screen filter under that sensor?

From my understanding this screen was added during 2007. So keep that in mind, earlier years will not have that from the factory.
How deep is the screen? I’m not seeing nor feeling one down inside the hole. My van is a 2009 gmc 3500 6.0 savanna.

Hmm... mine was not 1 1/16" a smidge too big and 1" is too small.
