I just wanted to say, thank you so much for your tutorials. I’ve been watching you for a while and you really have helped me improve as a piano player. I’m self-taught, so it’s been a little hard for me to learn pieces, but your tutorials are so clear and helpful that i’ve been able to learn many pieces!
Thank you for a very good demonstration on using the pedals. I found this video very useful and I shall keep going back to this to help me when practicing. I am very interested in following any other videos you may make.
For me basicly Clutch, brake, Throttle! But hey now i know how to use them properly and well the heel method is very familiar for me, becouse of racing, and well you have to be very soft on car pedals ro push it to the limits so somehow it translates to piano aswell. Good tutorial really helpfull! 🤗
Always a great tutorial! I have a Yamaha digital piano as well and really enjoy playing it ever since I’ve been watching your videos. Thank you so much for making everything so easy to understand and just wonderful. I’ve said it before and I’ll keep on saying it you’re a great teacher I only wish you were here in the United States I’d be your first student to sign up!
Nice video! I got one of the plastic pedals that you showed at the beginning of the video with my keyboard! haha! I am now looking to buy a decent pedal. I have the Casio Px S3100 - do you think that one pedal is enough? I am a 59 year old beginner at piano (I have many years of experience reading music and playing the organ) following you everyday - you are truly the best teacher on TH-cam. Thanks again!
I agree, the small plastic square pedal is not good, I had one that came with my keyboard and it would squeak and move around too much. Now i have one like the one you recommended and it’s a lot better. Also thanks for the video very informative 👍
Thank you very much for your lesson! Even though I don't have pedals, I always find it really interesting to learn new aspects of this beautilful instrument... Oh, and congratulations, you pronounced "sostenuto" very well (I am Italian ahah)! ♥️😊😊👏
Thank you for this! So interesting and informative😊I never tried a pedal but it makes me want to have a pedal and try this! But I think I'll get one when I buy a new keyboard. Hopefully, ASAP😊. Thank you so much for your free teaching lessons. You have cover up a lot of piano things! Haha I don't know the term but you'll get it
Thank you so much! You are really appreciated! My chords used to overlap when I used to hold down the pedal for the whole song and if I would take my foot off the pedal in between two chords, there would be a “gap” between the chords so this helped me a lot!!
"Keep it down, up down.."😂 i got that. So that maybe the sound of the last chord wont interrupt the sound of next chords.😁this tutorial is so understandable and amazing!
@Bitesize Piano Dear Francesca, I have a question as I've been playing keyboard very irregularly for about 2,5 yrs but thanks to your great tutorials I came back to it and now practise every day, but I never used pedal actually, is it possible to learn it after these years? is it worth buying it and trying, what do you think?🙂I am an adult player....thank you in advance for your advice ☺️
Thanks for the demo. Just a question: I heard that the delayed pedal is lifted&down after first note press(and before the note is lifted) in the new chord/melody bar. While your demo seems pedal simultaneous with first note/chord... Is there any difference between these 2 techniques? Will the 'after' way make first note more clear at same time keep legato effect? Thanks.
@@BitesizePiano Thanks for the clarification - from the video it was hard to know if it was note/chord first or simultaneous. Btw, 10:10 it was Le Onde from Ludovico Einaudi which I like also :)
Francesca, I've recently bought a new stool my for piano but now I've started to get back pain which I didn't get with my old, uncomfortable one. Could it be that my stool is too high or too low? My back seems pretty straight but I might be over compensate though... Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks for this video! I'd been considering getting a pedal for a while, but now I am sure. I was thinking of getting the 'square shaped' (0:45) one instead of the 'pedal looking' (0:43) one cause it'd take up less space. Is there a difference in quality between those two? Or are they completely different things?
Anyone else just feel like the sustain pedal always came natural to them? I never really 'learned' it, but I never have any difficulties with it. When learning a song the sustain pedal isn't a part that takes multiple tries to get right, must be more people that experienced that :0 you just feel whenever you have to release and hold it again!

Very good job. I am learning piano.

Glad it's helped!

Thank you so much! I was struggling with finding the pedals and thier purposes correctly...Yiu helped me a lot! Keep going and making videos ✨💫🎇

What was the name of the song you played around 10:33? Loved this tutorial thank you!
I believe it’s called “Le Onde, by Jacob’s Piano”
That's very helpful, thanks.

And here I was thinking you just sit on it until you can't tell what's going on anymore or the song ends. I was getting so good at it...

Hi mam can you teach piano tutorial of speechless song from aladdin
Thanks for the demo.

While your demo seems pedal simultaneous with first note/chord... Is there any difference between these 2 techniques? Will the 'after' way make first note more clear at same time keep legato effect?

I do press the note/chord first…The quicker the pedal is refreshed, the clearer/less overlap there will be.

There's a massive difference - get the bigger one! They feel so much better and are more sturdy. Don't get the square one!
@@BitesizePiano Will do! Thank you so much for your advice :)

the same🤭😁
But it needs a little effort which can worthwhile.
