    Excellent video, I just bought one yesterday and came across your vid which is timely. For the placement, did you set the alignment line pointing midway between your toes and the ball? Or directly behind the ball? When I did the latter, I needed to rotate the unit a bit to get my body and the ball in the proper rectangles on the iPhone screen. Thanks!

    • @cartersmithgolf
      @cartersmithgolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Daniel, yeah I know what you mean about the alignment. I just made sure I got my full swing in and the ball. Worked great. In an ideal world I would have the unit a couple of feet further back as in my studio I only have slightly less than 6 feet behind. I’m going to do another vid on the range when our courses reopen over here. Thanks for watching and hope you have fun with your Rapsodo.

    Hi. Noted in your video at the end the camera seemed to be swapped or mirrored. Is there a setting where you can avoid this? Thanks and great review super helpful!

    • @cartersmithgolf
      @cartersmithgolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Leigh, this is only because I was screen recording the live recording. As a user you would never see this left handed video as at this point you would be hitting the shot if that makes sense. The actual recorded version is always right handed. Sorry for this confusion.

    • @cartersmithgolf
      @cartersmithgolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jason, I hadn’t (but they did send it to me). The premium feature is as below
      10k swing storage
      Shot apex on playback
      Slow motion swing replays
      Full access to coach connect
      The shot feature comes at no cost. 👍👍

    Great Video!! I like the video of the swing so I can see my path away and towards the ball for an inside-out impact. I was wondering how difficult it is to send swing videos to my coach? Does the person receiving the video need to install a proprietary player to view the video? Also I read someplace that it stores only 100 videos locally unless you have a premium account for cloud storage. is this true? Last question. Does it record ball spin? Thanks for taking the time to answer these.

    • @cartersmithgolf
      @cartersmithgolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Stephen, good questions. Very easy to send the videos and no the coach doesn’t need an app (it goes as a standard video file). Yes it will need an account (small monthly payment to store more than 100 vids) at the moment it’s free with the unit on their website until 21st March. You then have all the features and 10k swings. It doesn’t record spin rates (as I said in the video that is really only accurate from the much more expensive units). Thanks for watching and hope that helps. 👍🙏

    • @cartersmithgolf
      @cartersmithgolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Alan, I’ve had it as close as 6 feet, tbh much closer than this and you’ll be touching the net. It seems to like 6-8 feet behind if you have that room. This could change with better lighting (mine is pretty low for filming). Hope that helps, thanks for watching and your comment. 👍👍

      The batteries on the unit where good (I did 3 2 hour sessions without charging) but I found that it drained my iPhone pretty fast (like I said, I have an older iPhone 8 so maybe this didn’t help).

    Great review. I'm in the market for launch monitor and hadn't considered this. How would you rate it against the garmin g80 you reviewed a while ago? Possible comparison video 🙏🏻

    • @cartersmithgolf
      @cartersmithgolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great idea, will do. Quick spoiler, I’d would definitely go with the Rapsodo because I feel the G80 is kinda a jack of all trades master of none. For me, I didn’t think the GPS was any better than a free one and the launch monitor wasn’t as accurate as I’d like for this outlay. I’d say it depends on what you want it for but if it’s primarily as a launch monitor my money is on the Rapsodo. Hope that helps. Will get started on that vid. Thanks 🙏👍

    How accurate is this if you are on the range and like most ranges use limited flight balls. Wouldn't your distances be at least 10% shorter compared to a real golf ball?

    • @cartersmithgolf
      @cartersmithgolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As it’s doplar radar it takes the actual speed the ball flys so whatever ball you use will be your numbers. Bad balls=bad numbers. You can however test your decent ball numbers and then make a quick calculation maybe like you said -10% etc. Would be the same as trackman or any other devices calculations. 👍👍

    I didnt even know Rapsodo were available in the UK yet Stu.
    Their video and shot tracer functions are awesome.
    I looked into getting one sent over by my Brother but went with the SC300 instead. As they had better back up in the UK a couple of years ago. But, of course, Im not an iSheep user either, so would have needed to use one of the girls old phones so thats more to carry too...
    MyGolfSpy reviewed the Rapsodo and they, like you, rated it very highly 👍
    Great, full review again Stu👍👍👍
    For us geeks or guys that just like to dig into our swings the launch monitors are invaluable...Id certainly not be without mine. However, if I was buying now Id go with the Mevo + as thats a stunning bit of kit. Four times the price of the SC300 though...

    • @cartersmithgolf

      SC300, I haven’t had a look at that yet. I guess they all have their upsides and down sides (Android is about to be released btw). I really thought this was super stable and no “faff” which puts me off more than anything. Agreed, we tinkerers need numbers as it’s only that which keeps us on the right track. Thanks and in for the comment and for watching. 🙏🙏

    • @KentnDebi
      @KentnDebi 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cartersmithgolf The SC300 has been overtaken now Stu 😟
      As with everything electronic, they improve apace...Voice Caddie aren't putting anymore research or development into the SC300. Ive spoken with them directly about improvements they planned on doing following their last update, which was over 12months ago now 😭😭😭 and there's nothing planned at all. Spin on the wedges isn't covered and that's a major flaw in my eyes. Their data capture and storage has been great for me though.
      Perhaps the best thing for us though is...they (launch monitors) encourage you to practise, the more you put in, the more data you get out and therefore the more accurate that data then becomes. I wouldnt be without mine 👍👍👍
