This is the most practical review of a launch monitor I've seen to date! Very clever to use a helper to check the actual distance. Also glad that you tried different distance examples. Nice!
Great review. I use this in a similar way when practicing. I've had one of these for about 4 months now, such a great practice tool for the price point. Got a new set of irons just before purchasing this and it helped me dial in the distances super quick (even though I had a fitting) and shave off about 4 strokes off of my score.
Great video demonstration. Have you tested the new indoor / net feature? Curious to see how the numbers look with only ~8 feet of ball flight. Haven't seen any videos anywhere on that yet, including from Rapsodo, who shows a video of people hitting into a net on their website but no views of the MLM data. Thanks!
Remember that you are lazering from where you hit the ball and the equipment is measuring from a couple yards behind you. Incredibly accurate actually! Thanks!
Appreciate your information. Made me decide to purchase the Rapsodo MLM. I have the Garmin G80 and thought this would be added value. I just purchased Oct 2021 with your GSL code is still applicable.
I actually think the opposite is more useful, i.e., longer irons (5-9) and woods…for the short game stuff, that’s much easier to see and map out on a course and see how long you’re hitting it…it’s much harder to see the farther targets and how long or short you are….great stuff though!
If you have your Bluetooth listening devices in while hitting balls, does the voice come through those or is it still voiced out loud to the public around you?
It is measuring CARRY. Here's from their website. Total distance travelled from impact to landing. MLM estimates this based on your initial launch conditions, a level surface is assumed.
Worked great before I bought the premium package, could view videos previously. Since buying the premium package, cannot view any videos. “Customer support” gave an extra six months but customer support is terrible-cannot get a live person.
It seems that you didn't pay attention to your science class or science fairs. Here's a tip: do multiple data point collection, instead of just hitting one shot at 170 yds. Do multiple and average! Thanks for the efforts tho.
A major feature I think potentially sets this apart from others is it’s accuracy with what Rapsodo calls “launch direction” - initial direction (right, left, straight) that the ball starts relative to the target line. I see that verbiage on their website but never hear anyone talking about it, what was your experience or anyone that has one have a comment?

Appreciate that!
Agree good video. Other videos i have seen didn’t have someone physically checking the distance which kind of misses the whole point of it.
Yes! This is how you test them, thanks for actually testing the distance, thank you 😁

Great review! I give 6 out of 5 Stars ⭐️😄
FINALLY! You are first person to verify the down-range distance.

Great point !!!

very cool! Especially for anyone to use at home or on the range! Love the idea of dialing in the wedges
Always key to practice with good feedback!

Great review, exactly what I was looking for before deciding on a launch monitor.
Awesome review! After watching this video, I am convinced that Rapsodo will improve my game and thanks for the discount code!
Hope you enjoy it!
Love the video! Just picked one of these up today and will be testing at the range as well as with my outdoor net setup.
Hope you enjoy it!
Love the video! Would like to see Mevo plus outdoor test put through the same ringer.
great review, but you also need to review the rangefinder is accurate. lol!
Great video! Would you recommend this over garmin r10? I am off 1 and need accurate data. Does this have club path? Thanks
Any chance of an indoor test? And what features do lose/gain? Any trajectory info when using a net for example?
Will test this!!!
I would Also like to see you tested on to a net like the other viewers are asking :) BUT is there anyway to try it with a foam ball as well?
I'm on it!!! Lot's of requests for this.
No driver shots review?!
Great review, little of topic but how do you like those Super Strome grips for the irons ?
Nice one Cordie...great review 👍🏼
Very good review ... I am concerned about the battery life of the miphone with so much video recording ... will it last an hour?
Def gets used fast but if you have a full charge it will
If you have your Bluetooth listening devices in while hitting balls, does the voice come through those or is it still voiced out loud to the public around you?
Is the shot tracing happening in real time or did you have to go back in post and upload those shots into the app for it to create the shot tracing?
Real time
This review was extremely well done. Nice work.
Much appreciated!
Is the Rapsodo measuring carry distance or total distance? Also, was the cameraman standing where the ball pitched or finished? Thanks!
It is measuring CARRY.
Here's from their website. Total distance travelled from impact to landing. MLM estimates this based on your initial launch conditions, a level surface is assumed.
seems pretty accurate in terms of carry distance
Does it work if you hit it into a net???
It does. Going to be testing this soon!
Please let us know when you do. That will determine my purchase. Can you think of anything better in that price range?
Could you hit this into a net (new feature) and see how it works please?
Definitely need to test that out!
@@golfsciencelab Can you please test into a net and let us know?
seems to show ball speeds lower than clubhead speed. Below 1.0 smash factors seem wrong.
What about tracking
Esp than full length shots, pitches etc?
Does the monitor measure carry and full roll out? or is it just carry? was hard to tell from video...thanks
Carry is the distance from Rapsodo.
Could this be used indoors with rubber or soft balls into a net or against a large wall?
Is that Whitetail Ridge in Yorkville?!?
Worked great before I bought the premium package, could view videos previously. Since buying the premium package, cannot view any videos. “Customer support” gave an extra six months but customer support is terrible-cannot get a live person.
It auto reads irons, but what about woods, hybrids, drivers, all typically have small numbers on the hosel/heal?
I think it does read what it can. But pretty easy to switch clubs in the app as well.
It will indeed read the numbers on your woods.
Does this automatically do the tracer or do you have to manually do it?
Does it work hitting into a net?
Driver?
Didn't test it out yet! Maybe do that next time.
How much room behind does it need?
Is this an app
Will the Rapsodo work on the new iPhone 12. I’ve read that it doesn’t...
Not 100% sure on that. I did just see a new app update get released this week. Could be in that new update
Excellent, thanks!
What brand of grips are you using?
Why didn't you do this on a windless day 🙈🤷🤷🤷🤷
How do you measure swing speed?
it measure club speed.
Can it track TRAJECTORY indoor, please help..
Trying to figure out if this is accurate (especially the shot shape) into a net...
Just bought one ill inform you
@@jacksonkendrick943 hi looking at getting this bad boy,for practicing into net, during the winter.how are you finding mlm
Pc Uk
@@paulc6237 pretty good, you need pretty good lighting or else it gives pretty bad reads. really fun and useful
This is so cool man
cool item great information, thanks.
unfortunately no more code
So you’re talking over the launch monitor we can’t hear what it’s saying they can need to reach you this video
Will this be available on android soon?
Can I use it at home while hitting into a net?
Yes
Is this available in the UK please?
Hi John, here is our UK Distributor contact info: barry@fade.ie
any chance that the code is still active ):
It should still work!
@@golfsciencelab whats the discount code and thank you for responding
Is it GSLCODE ?
Do they have an update on android devices. I don't own any apple products and I would think a lot of other people do not also.
will this work well with a net?
Yes, but We have it and it is inaccurate for us but it’s probably something on our part that we haven’t figured out yet
Decent video, but man, do you own an iron for that shirt? A dry cleaner near your house? LOL
😂
really???
What a stupid comment go iron your head
Over?
Thought the review was reay good until the very end when you gave out the discount code. You can't give an impartial review if you are selling them.
Nice edels-LionWoods
How do you get it to talk out loud like that
Amazon $299
It's a good deal.
Nice 👍

cameraman too shaky..getting sick watching this :(
you hit one seven iron? not much of a test
Nope, I want to play golf like a man, not a machine. Play a golf shot, not a number! Bring back hickory.
