Been experiencing this exact issue the last 2 weeks. Doesn’t seem to be a motor issue because when I do the close function and open it essentially resets. But for some reason on the occasional start up this issue still happens with 1 mirror. Did this serve to permanently address your issue? Wondering if there might be a full system reset for the mirrors
Motors are working fine on mine but sometimes one of them, and it can be either one, don`t fold, I have to use the door switch, is there a way to lubricate the mechanism?
If the mirror is stuck in the up position and won’t fold down electronically, it is perfectly fine to fold them down manually, but it requires a firm tug, the motor will not get damaged. It will not lock in position however, but it’s perfectly tight enough to drive at 70mph on the motorway to get home safely until you find a fix.
Richard while the weather is freezing cold, you can momentarily disable the folding mirror operation. I know it’s not ideal but when it rains a lot and colder weather makes it worst.
You legend literally just youtubed this issue as my mate had just bought a new a3 and we had this issue on his car late at night on country lanes. The video was useless and i decided to check the comments and upon reading urs we were hesitant but it actually worked!
Hi Adnan, my right mirror doesnt completely unfold averytime I start my car. I have to retract both and then put them back on so both will go to the right position. Please, can you help me with this?? Thanks!
Is that a problem in winter times or all the time? I know in winter the inner component sometime freeze and it takes a while to unfreeze but it this problem is staying all the time then May be motor is getting weaker.

Hi Adnan, my driver's side mirror is stuck and does not fold out. The passenger side unfolds when the car is started and also when in turn the mirror switch to the down (6o'clock) position. The driver's side mirror just makes a small click and does not move. Neither mirror responds when I attempt the movement you have shown - pressing the switch downwards. I tried spraying behind the glass with WD 40 in an attempt to maybe free the motor, but no luck. Any idea on what might be the problem?
By the sound of it, it looks like the motor rotors have come off or the motor is worn out. If doing that method doesn’t do anything then get it checked by mechanic. Does the passenger mirror moves at all or not?
I have a 2012 audi a6 3.0 premium model. You know how u have 4 buttons on the mirror control, i only have 3. I dont have the fold mirror option on the knob nor in the MMI central locking section
Stupid function, cold weather auto sticks these. Germany has harsh winters, what is VAG thinking. I would really like to disable this at the ecu level so that the switch isn't accidentally activated...

Hi, unfortunately your car is not equipped with foldable mirrors. It’s a function that often comes with ”Tech Pack”
@@Adnankhanchannel1 our 2012 Audi A6 3.0 has the power folding in mirrors the passenger one automatically folds in but the driver one does not

It only helps with the stuck mirror if anything else obviously needs full diagnostic
