    All I needed was to remove the glass itself, and have confidence that it needed a bit of force to get it dislodged without breaking the glass itself. I can see from your vid that you did need quite a bit of force, and so got mine off from my 2016 A3 without a problem 👍 thank you!

    hey man is this similar to a 2013 audi a4 ? need to replace housing like you did

    • @audimods
      @audimods  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They aren't the same, but I am sure it would be a similar process. I don't own an A4 myself so I cannot say for sure.

    did the same thing on my a6, first side took an hour the 2nd side only took 15 mins. once you get the hang of it it’s easy. Just be careful of the pesky clips in the back one or two of mine broke but everything clipped in just fine.

    Good man, thank you… I took my Audi A6 2017 S Line passenger side mirror to a mechanic to replace my broken one and as I was driving on the motorway I could see that the mirror was wobbly.
    I tried to push it in to make it steady but I couldn’t do it unfortunately. Any suggestions please? Thank you

    thank you for this video, but it may have only gotten me only halfway. I smashed my right mirror backing out of garage and I may need to take the unit off and replace same with a new unit. Got a video for that?

    Hey buddy
    Please, you disconnect 3 wires from mirror glass
    2 of them are heating and third connector is dimming?

    • @audimods
      @audimods  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I gather it is for defrost and dimming, yes.

    Unfortunately this actually doesn’t work/apply for the a8 (2011-2017)
    The a8 d4 is a two piece shell that has a completely different mounting situation:(

    The driver's side mirror on my A6 C7 is stuck in the closed position. Is it safe to manually push it to the open position or do I risk damaging the motor/gear? I see you have manually pushed the unit further out, so that does give me a little confidence....Cheers

    • @audimods
      @audimods  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I cannot speak for your exact issue, or whether there is some deeper mechanical fault, but you can manually move the mirrors with some gentle but firm persuasion.

    Are you from NZ? Also do you know what size corx screw driver is required?

    • @audimods
      @audimods  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Australia. I don't recall the exact number, perhaps a T10, they are fairly small - but in general just try each bit in your Torx set till you get the right fit.

      @audimods better at drag racing, and easier to work on. I actually own one of these a6 c7 3.0sc and it's been the most unreliable piece of crap I've ever owned. Cats blowing out, overheating issues, cwa50 magically stops working, blown sc coolant brick etc etc. I like to mod vehicles which comes with breaking stuff and wear and tear but these are straight up junk. If you like doing track racing around corners and stuff then I'd say it's good but for actually drag racing yea absolutely way too slow even when modded highly.
