Excellent video with very good information. The detailers took apart my mirrors and totally screwed them up during reassembly. You've been very helpful. Thanks for sharing
This is really useful! Someone manually folded my mirror while the powerfold was working and it now folds out to about 150% and tries to fold back in beyond the natural stopping point with a crunch and a pop. It’s bugged me for ages but haven’t understood the cause. From watching this, ny guess is that the stopper ring has spun out of position. Or perhaps that the spring is broken and not forcing it onto the hard stops. What do you think?
TY great video. I understand the intention but unfortunately it doesn't always work to protect the mirror, that's why mine are broken now! Mine aren't the exact ones shown here but they're basically the same parts and same design. In my case, the plastic gear is broken. Do you know how I can find a replacement of that gear? or maybe have one made?
sorry to be so offtopic but does anybody know of a tool to log back into an instagram account? I was dumb forgot the password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me
@Jamir Lyle I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Abh, they're all about the same, just different exterior style mirrors. It's really a difficult job to disassemble and put back together. Replace with metal gears only, they won't fail like the original plastic gear
Could this be the issue with my mirror? It was stuck folded due to the gear breaking. I had to manually unfold it. Now that I took it apart, the mirror doesn’t fold even though I changed the broken gear. It now makes a clicking noise. If I remove the gear, I can hear the motor spinning.
Very good video!I have a Saab 9-3 aero MY2006, can i do the same steps to fix the folding? The silenoid turns without folding.Do you know if i have to cut metal to reach the spring, that it has get of?

i bought an folding mirror actuator from Thailand there steering wheel position is right side in our country the steering wheel is left side. that's why the right side is more bend. it is possible to adjust the actuator?
I recently purchased a 2022 Acura vehicle with a power folding mirrors. I folded the mirrors today for the car wash, only to cringe while watching the attendant manually unfold the mirrors. Given the design is likely similar to this, would you expect there to be damage to the motor/mechanism over the long run? When I pushed the mirror button then seemed to resynchronize themselves without any issue. Maybe they've designed for this scenario. There's nothing in the manual for this...
I have recently bought a power folding wing mirrors for my Vauxhall Astra K. My garage has installed it but unfortunately, it still doesn’t fold as it should have (I know you can unfold it by putting the (L&R button) and pressing the down button). Is it due to our car being incompatible to this feature or an electrical failure (e.g. incompatible pin socket or wrong instalment)? Would appreciate much of your help.
Thanks for the video mate. May I ask if my motor has only two wires. Are they both receiving 12V input (folding n unfolding) or are they positive n ground? Thanks!
There should be only one ground and one for each one of the moves left right Up and down also for the power folding one for out and one for retract and one for heater mirror and the one for turn signal. Just one ground for everything all the rest is for all the different movements. I hope you get it ,sometimes you can find the ground because is grounded with the chassis or door panel of the door that make contact with some metallic part of the same mirrors.
@@icku do you know if I can convert the Peugeot 208 mirrors into electric folding? I know that 208 GTI and 2008 have auto folding. But I don’t know which motor should I use. Its so hard to find original motors.
Ok I have a problem with my mirror, its power folding. So it open, partially and then using the opens and close switch to open, it opens after a few minutes. However, the mirror is fixed when it's open or close, there is some play. Do you have an idea of what happened and how to fix it. It's a Hyundai Ioniq.

Most likely, but in either ways you will have to open it in order to fix it.
Super video, thanks.

@Jamir Lyle it did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D

I really appreciate that’s explanation! Thanks, by any chance can I know for which car this mirror is?

Is there a video on how to remove the worm?
I don't have such. You can search the net for it.
Perfect demonstration, many thanks

@@STAMATAKISMYou can open it, but first find a new retaining ring/spring. There is no way to remove the old intact
They should’ve made the plastic gear metal. I noticed the common problem is them breaking after a few years

Not sure that's due to the steering wheel possition. Those in the video are also from UK and there is no difference from such from rest of of Europe.

Yep, no worries. They are designed for such scenario or to be hit by some other car passing by. No harm can be done this way.

Unfortunatelly I'm not familiar with the Astra K and could only guess what could be the problem, sorry
