27:53 why do women always think they look bad on camera? She’s super cute and you have a nice family! Good job on the install. My lock was problematic after the first few days and I had to replace it. It’s critical that it’s installed properly with the correct adapters etc.
I like the newer model you have compared to mine. I had to pair going online to the website. I am glad the door lock was easy to install. That is the next project I have.
I suppose you could rather easy. A small plate sticks to the door and the numbers slid over it. The battery may be exposed but theoretically you could. I forget with the Black Friday deal what it was but I believe it is $99
That’s a great question. I don’t know I could always use the app to unlock so that’s not a problem but I don’t know if it would recognize it is offline.
Irene Malave for sure as long as you have access to your WiFi and it’s not solely managed by the apartment complex you should. They have all kinds of combinations on their website. It’s really up to you what you want and how much you want to spend wether you go with just door and window sensors or also add motion sensors and cameras.
I think our total was about $150. I bought direct from their website and got the camera for free. There is a few different plans you can pay for monthly for 24/7 monitoring, emergency response and stuff like that.
I never had the key fob bit it's likely. Stuff in the house you can usually set up with just the base pad but since it's soemthing that leaves the. house I could see you needing the app.
We really enjoy it. A few times there has been an issue where the smart lock couldn’t connect to the system for whatever reason and it wouldn’t unlock. Seems on cold days the door jam expands a little and can jam up the lock. Only happened a few times though
It looks like you use the wrong adapter it was a lot of play. Try one of the other colored adapters for example I had to use the red one. It should fit securely over the tail piece. Also you have to make sure that the pointed tip faces up and away from the door opening. That colored adapter is very important to choose the correct one and have it orientated correctly
We have simplisafe and every sensor they have to offer as well as the video doorbell but we have not gotten the door lock as its a new Device and i want it to be out for awhile and let them work out any kinks but lets us know how its all working for you.
lance843 it works great the only issue is the door doesn’t quite seal enough on its own. You don’t realize it when locking the old way because you usually have your hand on the door applying pressure but just that fraction of an inch allows the deadbolt to not quite fall in right and as soon as it meets resistance it throws a fault. Not a huge deal I just need to grind out the slot a little more so it has room to come through Easy. Other than that it’s great though.
@@RyCamN7 well thats how our door is anyway, its hard to shut and you have to make sure you push on it to close it so it would be the same if we put the ss door lock on as well but glad to hear its all working.
You can’t arm it just by locking the door but if it is armed in away mode when we use the door pin pad to unlock the door it’s smart enough to know to disarm the system. You can set it however to lock the door automatically when the system is armed. For instance at night when we put it in home mode if it is not already locked it will lock. Like wise when we put it into away mode we have a minute to leave then it will arm and lock.
After a looking into it. I take it the alarm does lock and unlock the door. Early on no videos of alarm just the lock. Anyone know if you can run more than 1 lock? As easy as the system is I'm sure you probably can have a lock on 2 doors. I want 1 to stay locked 99.9% and the other I will use every day. Garage entry at my place. Have a remote and keypad on each level. Really happy with simplisafe overall. We have 3 systems now. I went overboard. Have every bell and whistle except for a doorbell and now a lock. May order both in a minute lol
Yes in the app when you set up the lock it asks which door it’s on. You can also link it with a entry sensor on a certain door. From there you can program the different home, away modes to lock whichever one you want.
I actually had a difficult time setting this up. Maybe I also need to increase m IQ or something. The base would tell me to press the button on the Smart Lock, behind the metal plate. I did not think to open the battery compartment, it's in there, inside. I kept looking on the outside of the casing. I also got confused with the Keypad and the Pin Pad so I was thinking the Pin Pad didn't work until I called in and it turns out, they both have the same pass code, which makes sense since all you are doing is using the Pin Pad as an extension to the Key Pad, which is behind your door. The app on the phone works great since you don't need a pass code.
Can you do a test put a phone near the key padd and see if it send a off to the tower of the alarm based because it happens to me twice one with a video watching and think this time I pause it but my airpod and it took me 5 to 10 and it lags we have a old keypad not the new keypad one which I think might be better. Can you test this theory for me.
It said if you have dogs to flip it I guess cause it won’t get them? I actually ended up moving it anyway though cause when the pets went up the stairs it triggered the alarm.
Your video is misconstrued. You failed to say that each time your assign a sensor contact in a room, you have to go to the keypad and lock in its location.
Actually yard signs and stickers are a horrible idea. They don’t let people know not to mess with you as you stated, they simply let people know what kind of alarm system you have and then they can go to that particular systems of vulnerabilities. Always a bad idea. For example I have ADT window stickers for my SimpliSafe system
Horrible video!!! First, you were not keeping the camera pointed exactly where you were describing what you were doing! You can't describe what you're doing but not let everyone see it on the video. Second, you should have done a dry run through the whole thing to make sure you knew what you're going to say before you made the video. Last, you did not describe whatsoever that the lock stays on the outside of the door and does not come out.
I need to give a shoutout to the Dundar Mifflin t-shirt. I am a big Office fan myself. Nice unboxing and installation.
Thanks! It’s one of my favorites as well.
Just purchased this at Costco. Looks very easy to install. Thank you for taking the time and making a video.
It really was! A few hiccups but they really thought of everything.

Best part is you being Dad
Kid almost gave out keys to the kingdom lol great video btw
Oh the other day they whispered the code to someone outside lucky it was our friend. We had to have a talk haha

Does this come with a 12 gage or a 9mm?
Lol just some extra protection, great video
The kids are so cute. If your wife dont agree with the location of the key pad you can always blame it on the kids. Lol
Exactly!
For extra protection. Can the keypad be taken with me? How much for the keyed entry?

Does the keypad light up for night visibility?
It does.
Thank you for the video! One question. Any idea how long the batteries last in the sensors?
Not sure. I believe it is a while. The hub will likely go out before them but the base unit will let you know when they are low.
@@RyCamN7 thank you for replying!
can this security system be used for apartments as well,if so which package would be best for me
Irene Malave for sure as long as you have access to your WiFi and it’s not solely managed by the apartment complex you should.

I want simple safe in my new house❤
It’s very easy to set up
Does the door keypad light up?
It does!
Thank you
Nice video man. How much is the entire kit. Tell me the store where you bought it.
Is there any monthly payment?
I think our total was about $150. I bought direct from their website and got the camera for free. There is a few different plans you can pay for monthly for 24/7 monitoring, emergency response and stuff like that.
do I have to download the app to get my key fob to work? thanks

@12:49 Oh lordy, that's some bushy hair there, haha ;)
Wait, what? The parents are living in the parents' basement? LOL
Does the smart lock let you know in app that its unlocked?
It does and will tell you.
How are you liking it so far now that you’ve been using it awhile

Where did you order the obsidian set from? I can't find it anywhere.
I ordered direct from Simply safe website. The specific items usually have an option.
@@RyCamN7 ok, thx.

You need to test the Alarm
Oh we got a decent test soon after this when our dog set off the motion alarm.

I think your motion sensor is upside down. I think the test button goes on top.
It said if you have dogs to flip it I guess cause it won’t get them? I actually ended up moving it anyway though cause when the pets went up the stairs it triggered the alarm.
Does anyone know if it's compatible with the earlier version (with the older base station/base pad)?
It is not compatible with the GEN one system or GEN two as far as I know.
Your video is misconstrued. You failed to say that each time your assign a sensor contact in a room, you have to go to the keypad and lock in its location.
Dude, you literally gave everyone on TH-cam your address by showing your receipt.
