How much does a Safelite new windshield for a car cost? If you need a new windshield for your car, you can find a company like Safelite to come out to your home or office and replace the windshield for you for a little over $300. This cost will vary depending on the car, and if there are any electronics built into the windshield or not. This was a lot cheaper than I thought it would be, and it is nice to have a new window without a crack in it. The Safelite windshield installation took about an hour and a half, and the glue was dry enough for me to drive the car home at the end of the day. I started setting an appointment, chose the at home windshield replacement without wipers for my F150, stated with $50 promo $289 but the price had jumped to $386 when it came time for the Credit card info!! called the toll and local number and no matter what option I chose I was directed to the website and the IVR ended the call!!! can't get to a human unless you go to the shop! I'll find someone else to replace it if no one will explain the charges BEFORE I pay!!

Wow 330$ from Safelite...I just did my windshield for 140$ new aftermarket same manufacturer Fuyao, they are too off those safelite

Cost-Free. Don't really know if it's a Florida thing or my insurance, but doesn't cost me a penny. Have had 3 replaced so far.

+Badbones55 i've heard that some insurance companies will do that. They say it is a safety issue. I don't have full coverage insurance on my car, so my insurance definitely won't cover it.

its a Florida thing, no deductible for replacement if you have comprehensive.

It’s called full coverage or comprehensive coverage. Zero cost to the consumer. My last windshield cost State Farm $1500 to replace. I think I’ve replaced around 5 windshields over the years and spent $0 on them.

+Juan Rios we were the only car on the road, so it wasn't a rock kicked up by another car. Maybe some kid by the side of the road threw a rock at us, or maybe it was bb or a bullet from far away. I didn't mind the crack in the windshield, but my son has to use my car to take his drivers license test pretty soon, and the DMV won't let you take a test in a car with a cracked windshield. So we decided to fix it.

Genni Young I totally agree with you. They are using same aftermarket glass made by Fuyao and charge much much more.
