  • UPDATE: Let me say I asked this man's permission before I started to record him if it was ok and he said sure and ask as many questions as you like but please tag Safelite. I said no problem. This man was very polite n helpful to me. So please stop the hateful comments, I am fwding them all to YOU TUBE SO BEWARE and YOU WILL BE BLOCKED AFTERWORDS. Thank you
Our new Subaru Forester had to get a new windshield. We got the car from Carmax and they paid for our window to be fixed. I will say Carmax and Safelite are really great. Carmax really does stand by their cars.

Relatively impressed with this replacement. A few things that need attention but overall probably one of the better Safelite installations. Keep in mind, a good installation doesn't mean it didn't leak. The only real way to know is in an accident where the installation is tested. I regularly fix ALOT of Safelite mistakes.

1st and foremost I want to thank you for taking this video. I can tell your technician was very thorough, which is something I really like. As a consumer I wish I would have videotaped my technician. I just had my windshield replaced on my 2014 Chevy Malibu. Oddly enough he did not do the steps your technician did. My car hood and seats were never covered with any protective covering as was in your video. The step your technician took putting a molding around the windshield prior to putting it on the car, my technician did not do. My technician lifted the glass onto my car, never using the brace your technician used to assist in his lift. Also did not clean the track as thoroughly as yours did. There was obvious dirt and debris. He just scraped not cleaning any further. I also noticed my technician used something like a big scraper to get my glass off my car. When he was completed I noticed that the corner driver side top of the window there was a part that I could see through the glass that was not apparent on the passenger side.
Needless to say I will be calling Safelite to inquire further about their protocol and steps.
Hopefully others will watch this video prior to their appointment my suggestion to all videotape them, they seem to be more thorough when you do so. Again thank you for your video! 👍

Glad you had a good technician and a good experience, but this comment is only about the company not employees, but do people realize how ridiculously expensive it is to use them? Safelite is usually first place that pops into people minds if they don’t know anyone, but trust me people call anyone but them & save you some money for the same window/windshield.
My buddy has owned his own glass company 15 years now & within the last year he decided to give me a job & i swear every week I hear, “glad I called you guys because safelite wanted way more money to do it” I know what prices we get the glass for & I would honestly feel like a criminal charging people what they charge for a windshield or any side glass. Generally speaking they’re always at least 100-200 and even more sometimes, and you can support us small businesses instead of these big corporations who literally F you cause they know they can

    • @DetroitNerd

Safelite installed the wrong glass in your car. One of the common features on Subarus is the heated wiper park area, and you were just robbed of it. Very sad work from Safelite, trying to slide a quick one by on a customer. This is why you should always use local shops with a good reputation. They survive on real reviews and honest work, and will go the extra mile to make sure your car is perfect. P.s. majority of safelite technicians are undertrained and overworked. Skilled technicians leave and go to better local companies, only to be replaced by a 2 week class room trained technician…
