      The Nursing Jewel ..So does this method of CLEP help one override using excelsior or achievement prep? Your method to CLEPing out pre-reqs sounds less expensive than those 2 other options ( Achieve Test Prep or Excelsior)

      You are amazing.... about the prerequisites can I do them now in Nigeria because I'm currently in 200 level Biochemistry?... Will they consider that?. Is it possible to get scholarship that'll cover the perquisites courses?

    • @TheNursingJewel

      @@naturallytoun accepting credits from international schools depends on the school you apply to, some may take them and some may not. Also scholarships aren't usually given for just prerequisite courses, you would have to be a full-time or part-time student enrolled in a program

      You would have to check with the RN schools that you're considering. Most of them don't accept CLEP for science courses because they want you to do the labs. A lot of them accept classes like psychology, sociology, and developmental psych.

    Hey! I have a question, actually I completed my high school 2 months ago and now I am taking my prerequisite classes for RN in a Community college but I have a doubt.
    Will the prerequisite classes in community College be of 2 years and Will I get An Associate degree with it Or after Completing my Prerequisite classes (as a full time student) I have to spend another 2 years for ADN. I am confused about the duration of this program and don’t know these classes will take me to the ADN degree in 2 years or 4 years

    Wow I never heard that a school will give you a letter grade for CLEP. What's your bachelor's in? I have a BS in biology and want to get into nursing. Everyone tells.me to do an ASBN program, but I work full time and really hate to quit a good job. So my next thought was to do an evening lpn program and then find work as an LPN once I finish the program. From there I can do a LPN to rn/ or BSN program. I know Indiana state has an online lpn to bsn program. What was your journey?

    • @TheNursingJewel
      @TheNursingJewel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a BS in public health. I didn’t want to take out another loan for an absn program right after college plus my gpa wasn’t that high so I decided to take the LPN route since it was cheaper and quicker than an rn program. The other plus side was that I could work as an LPN while completing rn school. I have currently applied to an LPN to RN bridge program and an ABSN program and am waiting to hear back from both.

      The Nursing Jewel that's awesome!! Same situation as me pretty much! I was a biochem major initially and I struggled in organic chemistry and biochem as well as some of the really high level math I had to take (Calc 1 and Calc 2. Calc 2 was roughhhh). So long story short I eventually changed to biology but the damage was done. I graduated with a 2.81 GPA. I've taken some prereqs (ap1, ap2 and microbiology. Got As in all of them). I really wanted to do the lpn route but unfortunately around here, they only have evening programs at the private schools. Prism and Lincoln tech. Both of them cost $26k!! Ugh. It's just too much i feel. So I'm going to try to get into the community college evening RN program I think but I know it'll delay me a lot 😩 I've heard it takes like 3 attempts to get in. Even with good grades. Sigh.

      @TheNursingJewel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CouponFrenzy wow that's a lot for just an LPN program 😱 mine was just 7k. Are there more than one community colleges around you? I would suggest applying to more than 1 just because community college RN programs are notorious for being super selective and having long waitlists.

      @@CouponFrenzy I'm in the same situation as you dear, I really want to get into the lvn program but I have a good job right now and getting into the program will mean that I quit my job which it doesn't make sense plus the program is like 30k in California here ugh. I thought of community colleges but it takes damn too long to even get in

      Hello, I would say for international students the best route is through an associate degree in Nursing (RN) or a bachelor's degree (BSN, RN). To make your search easier I would say start with a state that you would like to go to school in like New York, California, etc., then look up nursing (RN) programs in that state. In most cases they will show admissions requirements for international students. The programs may consist of science courses so you may not have to take them before getting accepted. I'll attach some links to articles that I found that may help with your decision
