You gotta give props to how creatively they actually kill the Justice League. Batman was shot with a gun. Flash was taken out with a gun. Green Lantern died from a bullet wound from a gun. And Superman was shot with a gun.

The problem with this game is that its entire premise is just dumb. Just like the first DCEU movie, this game tries to make it seem like the Suicide Squad is meant to be a group that can take on the Justice League but in reality, they're supposed to be a black-ops group that works for the US government and is often sent on political missions the US can't be publicly affiliated with. This just makes sense the moment you think about it because characters like Harley Quinn, Deadshot, mf Captain Boomerang, and other common members of the Suicide Squad are not powerhouses capable of taking on the likes of Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, etc. but they could be used for secret government operations like assassinations, espionage, etc. So because of that fact, this game has to give the Suicide Squad an insane amount of plot armor and conveniences just for them to kill one Justice League member (let along all of them) and the story ends up being nonsensical.
Weird they took inspiration from the bad SS movie and not the actually good one that had the SS do that. We should've gotten a Hitman clone or a smaller scale FPS

Hell, Batman was _literally_ turning into Joker in Knight, and got hit by both fear gas and Mad Hatter's hypnosis (DLC). Still he has a plan to contain himself because he knows he could destroy the city single handedly, he avoids killing anyone (in the DLC you can kill a cop by accident, but it fails the game), and he overcomes it. They didn't have to do any of this, and he's sure not losing to the Suicide Squad. He has beaten everyone on the team, and the team itself in the Arkham Suicide Squad animated movie

The fact that Rocksteady’s founders already left and formed a new studio (Not to mention took a large number of their employees with them) is very telling. It’s not a matter of if Rocksteady will close, but a matter of when.
Definitely a bad sign, but they left in 2022 when the game was probably close to finished. So they still had a huge role in the travesty of a game this is.

My biggest gripe with this game was when it was first revealed that everyone got a gun. That to me felt kind of lazy seeing what they were given to work with.

Don’t know why they even used the Arkham verse as the setting I mean they just changed absolutely everything anyways, the only characters from the Arkham verse in the squad is Harley, there was originally an Arkham dead shot but they killed him off and replaced him. Tim drake was killed off but it’s never talked about. They only used the Arkham verse so people will buy the game, there was no reason they couldn’t just start a new universe but they wanted more money.

In the game brainiac doesn't just straight up "you're my friend now" people, he observes what they do and then removes some of their inhibitors. The reason that the justice league died to the suicide squad is because they had people making gadgets and enhancements to specifically go after one league member at a time. If the league just grouped up there would be no way the suicide squad could have done anything
Technically, Batman is the weakest member of Justice League because dude is just a regular human while the others have superpowers but he has so many plans to make everything difficult. It would be better if The Suicide Squad is just focusing on defeating Brainiac and then the mind control Justice League fight them in the end in different route, once they defeat the mind control Justice League who are unconcious, they kill the Brainiac and free them from his evil power. Anddd the Justice League and Suicide Squad are just cool with each other.

Arthur is king over the majority of earth, all of the ocean is his kingdom so he has the biggest reason to join in. The green lanterns code assumes all faulty power rings must be retrieved and the rings themselves have a built in code that prevents immoral acts. The amazons(so far) haven't even been showcased, neither have the greek pantheon, despite their place of power being threatened. Supergirl is supermans cousin, this could be a timeline where she hasn't arrived yet though. I don't know which Flash is currently in the suit, but either Wally or Barry based on which is the corrupt should be here as well.

That's probably the most irritating part, that these four bozos with zero powers (I mean, King Shark I guess is a shark but I don't really count it) can somehow manage to kill heroes 10x stronger then them with relative ease. If the cutscenes had the SS getting their asses kicked by the JL and actually made it seem like a struggle I wouldn't mind as much, but they just kinda tire the hero out, mosey on up to them and blow out their brains. As someone who grew up on the Arkham games and is still a huge fan of the games, this piece of shit game is one massive middle finger to anyone that enjoyed the Arkham games. Not to mention Kevin Conroy who is the legendary voice actor for Batman passed away in 2022, and this game disrespected the shit out of his final performance. They made the Arkham Batman a joke in this game and gave him the most meaningless death I’ve ever seen. What’s even worse is that it’s made by Rocksteady, the creators of the Arkham games.

I still don't get how flash was able to be caught in that slow-motion bomb. Canonically he would have a fast enough reaction time to literally watch the bomb explode, get a drink, come back, and then take a selfie away from the blast radius.
I can't even fathom the idea behind Rocksteady both creating and destroying the Arkhamverse. Disappointment feels like an understatement at this point.

Dunno how ppl didn't notice it. When they showed the gameplay it was obvious as hell that the game would be a mediocre live-service, that would die off in a year.
-They should have made the game more like Xcom where you get unique villains from A-list to C-listers. Then if they die they are gone for good. If you run out of villains then the game is over and you have to start over. Then add a few Lazarus pit charges in which you can revive your favorite or best villains. -The weakest C listers could have the lowest stats you can grind to upgrade their abilities to the point you can reach Deadshot or Deathstroke Level of Skills. - Categorize the villains by class. For example King Shark has alternates like Clay Face, Grundy, Brick, Mammoth, etc.
Not only that, but the guy who could easily kick all the SS's asses with his hands tied behind his back, gets his hands tied behind his back and just kinda sits there to get shot in the head, like cattle. Proof that the creators know nothing about the universe in which they are creating.

Maybe a Bat-family game first to bridge the gap if we go the lore route that this game does. Batman Beyond would be incredible if done well.

I really feel like they should have just made the main character Batman, trying to beat the superheroes. Doing objectives to find weaknesses and setting up situations to beat the heroes would have been awesome.
Or at least, at the very least, have Batman work with them behind the scenes. This isn't the first time we've seen the Squad in universe, in the animated tie in movie they're very vocal about not wanting to cross paths with him, but in the end they work towards a similar objective albeit seperately. There's this weird thing writers are trying to force about Batman, and it's that minorities don't like him or he's not popular with them. Like they're trying to push Batman as being fascist and beating up poor people, making it so that minorities don't like him, but I'm a minority and I love Batman. I'm not black, but I'm pretty sure he's incredibly popular in that community too. Idk maybe I'm looking too much into it
The writing is so terrible. I remember watching the scene with king shark ripping off green lanterns ring AND USING IT. I was like “that’s not how it works! That’s not how any of this works!” Did Rocksteady even do research on their subject matter?
Absolutely not because the very BASIS of the plot has problems. Both Wonder Woman AND Batman are immune (or at least, have a VERY high resistance) to mind control. Neither of them would likely be compromised by Brainiac in the FIRST PLACE! Not to mention, Batman has contingency plans for if he ever DID come under the influence of another. This never, EVER would have happened canonically.
Non necessary, the game looks a bit of satire. As such it makes sense it does some weird stuff that contradicts itself. If howevery they meant it seriously these parts can be very terrible.
I liked the part where they played the Batman Arkham triumph theme whenever Bruce wins a battle to show him indiscriminately killing the very people you spent 4 games saving, then failing to kill the very people you've defeated multiple times before. Not at all in poor taste or bad writing

Remember the Arkham Origins online mode where you could play as mercenaries fighting against Batman and Robin? And you could even summon Joker and Bane after enough time? The blueprints were there.

Kevin Conroy was my childhood favorite. He was Batman in Batman: the animated series, JLA, JLU, and the Arkham games. He gave an amazing performance every time, and he really WAS Batman. Sad to see his legacy end in a fizzle.

the fact that you already do like 500-1500 damage PER BULLET in the very beginning of the game is such a baffling decision, like what is the point if it still takes 20 bullets to kill a guy
It's so annoying cause this shows that Rocksteady had a vision of metropolis in their head. All these other heroes have at least slightly fleshed out appearances and personalities, and metropolis itself has a sense of personality that would have been fun to free roam in as mainline heroes. There is so much potential here to build a proper universe. But instead of having single player focused narrative games like the Arkham Series, we instead are supposed to care about these mainline heroes dying for in absolutely ridiculous and under developed ways. And to the top it off we are treated with an outdated approach to creating a 4 player coop experience with a heavy focus on gear scores and hit points, rather that strong storytelling and interesting gameplay mechanics that don't have to be designed with all 4 playable characters in mind. This game if done right could have been a great finisher to the universe, making us kill of characters that we have learned to love, or at least been introduced to prior to this game. It's such a shame to see an amazing legacy of games (Arkham Series) be finished of in such a distasteful way, with no respect shown towards such a great and memorable iteration of batman.

I will say that it’s not a good game, but it IS better than I thought. The Dialogue isn’t totally unbearable and the combat seems fun enough. The live service bs and mediocre story is what hurts the most

The shot they do to Batemans character is just straight up disrespectful to Conroy. They should have went for a smaller scope for this game. Having the SS kill the whole justice league right after a batman game doesn't even make sense. They shot themselves in the foot and are now unable to make any other game related to justice league since all of them are dead by the looks of it.

The problem with this game is that its entire premise is just dumb. Just like the first DCEU movie, this game tries to make it seem like the Suicide Squad is meant to be a group that can take on the Justice League but in reality, they're supposed to be a black-ops group that works for the US government and is often sent on political missions the US can't be publicly affiliated with. This just makes sense the moment you think about it because characters like Harley Quinn, Deadshot, mf Captain Boomerang, and other common members of the Suicide Squad are not powerhouses capable of taking on the likes of Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, etc. but they could be used for secret government operations like assassinations, espionage, etc. So because of that fact, this game has to give the Suicide Squad an insane amount of plot armor and conveniences just for them to kill one Justice League member (let along all of them) and the story ends up being nonsensical.
Weird they took inspiration from the bad SS movie and not the actually good one that had the SS do that. We should've gotten a Hitman clone or a smaller scale FPS

Hell, Batman was _literally_ turning into Joker in Knight, and got hit by both fear gas and Mad Hatter's hypnosis (DLC). Still he has a plan to contain himself because he knows he could destroy the city single handedly, he avoids killing anyone (in the DLC you can kill a cop by accident, but it fails the game), and he overcomes it. They didn't have to do any of this, and he's sure not losing to the Suicide Squad. He has beaten everyone on the team, and the team itself in the Arkham Suicide Squad animated movie

In the game brainiac doesn't just straight up "you're my friend now" people, he observes what they do and then removes some of their inhibitors. The reason that the justice league died to the suicide squad is because they had people making gadgets and enhancements to specifically go after one league member at a time. If the league just grouped up there would be no way the suicide squad could have done anything
Technically, Batman is the weakest member of Justice League because dude is just a regular human while the others have superpowers but he has so many plans to make everything difficult. It would be better if The Suicide Squad is just focusing on defeating Brainiac and then the mind control Justice League fight them in the end in different route, once they defeat the mind control Justice League who are unconcious, they kill the Brainiac and free them from his evil power. Anddd the Justice League and Suicide Squad are just cool with each other.

Not to mention Kevin Conroy who is the legendary voice actor for Batman passed away in 2022, and this game disrespected the shit out of his final performance. They made the Arkham Batman a joke in this game and gave him the most meaningless death I’ve ever seen. What’s even worse is that it’s made by Rocksteady, the creators of the Arkham games.

-They should have made the game more like Xcom where you get unique villains from A-list to C-listers. Then if they die they are gone for good. If you run out of villains then the game is over and you have to start over. Then add a few Lazarus pit charges in which you can revive your favorite or best villains.
-The weakest C listers could have the lowest stats you can grind to upgrade their abilities to the point you can reach Deadshot or Deathstroke Level of Skills.
- Categorize the villains by class. For example King Shark has alternates like Clay Face, Grundy, Brick, Mammoth, etc.

Absolutely not because the very BASIS of the plot has problems. Both Wonder Woman AND Batman are immune (or at least, have a VERY high resistance) to mind control. Neither of them would likely be compromised by Brainiac in the FIRST PLACE! Not to mention, Batman has contingency plans for if he ever DID come under the influence of another.

Remember the Arkham Origins online mode where you could play as mercenaries fighting against Batman and Robin? And you could even summon Joker and Bane after enough time? The blueprints were there.

Kevin Conroy was my childhood favorite. He was Batman in Batman: the animated series, JLA, JLU, and the Arkham games. He gave an amazing performance every time, and he really WAS Batman.

the fact that you already do like 500-1500 damage PER BULLET in the very beginning of the game is such a baffling decision, like what is the point if it still takes 20 bullets to kill a guy
It's so annoying cause this shows that Rocksteady had a vision of metropolis in their head. All these other heroes have at least slightly fleshed out appearances and personalities, and metropolis itself has a sense of personality that would have been fun to free roam in as mainline heroes. There is so much potential here to build a proper universe. But instead of having single player focused narrative games like the Arkham Series, we instead are supposed to care about these mainline heroes dying for in absolutely ridiculous and under developed ways. And to the top it off we are treated with an outdated approach to creating a 4 player coop experience with a heavy focus on gear scores and hit points, rather that strong storytelling and interesting gameplay mechanics that don't have to be designed with all 4 playable characters in mind. This game if done right could have been a great finisher to the universe, making us kill of characters that we have learned to love, or at least been introduced to prior to this game. It's such a shame to see an amazing legacy of games (Arkham Series) be finished of in such a distasteful way, with no respect shown towards such a great and memorable iteration of batman.

To go from the quiet atmosphere of the Arkham franchise, to this loud, obnoxious, dime a dozen gun games is just the worst

They should have went for a smaller scope for this game. Having the SS kill the whole justice league right after a batman game doesn't even make sense.
They shot themselves in the foot and are now unable to make any other game related to justice league since all of them are dead by the looks of it.
Personally I would've loved an xcom style SS game.

Yeah, they kinda really ruined the moral and emotional complexities that made suicide squad so brilliant. I even got surprised with myself when I felt satisfaction when someone threw that can at the Suicide Squad in the game and told them they fucking suck 😂 and I LOVE these characters! This depiction of them is just disgusting. (Though I do think some of the stupid little shit King Shark does in this game is adorable, like playing with Riddler’s hat)

How can no one at RockSteady realise that shooting the same enemies over and over is a modern gaming no-no. It never works anymore; now that we have the tech to do otherwise. Even with the Arkham games it’s the same enemies but they’re human and we can empathise with even the basic of enemies. We can’t with alien zombies.
I think the most annoying aspect is that they couldnt make it more interesting that "Oh no they put up a shield I guess you'll need to go around it to shoot them."
