Poor quality of the image and for the lousy sound - it was recorded with a Nikon D5000 - so I suggest that those who will watch to decrease the sound volume.
The plane was an Embraer 190/195 of AZUL airlines from Brazil.
Take-off in Navegantes Airport, State of Santa Catarina, heading Porto Alegre, State of Rio Grande do Sul,Southern of Brazil.
Thank you.
A qualidade da imagem não é boa e o de som é horrível - então sugiro que abaixem o volume caso forem assistir.
Obrigado.
you can see at 0:27 person who is reading, i always wondering abot them in a weather like this, so calm like nothing happens. so jaleous of them.
+casablancas182 I know right. My heart is always beating fast before take off lol
+casablancas182 I like to imagine that the person is DEATH. And he knows that he's not needed. Not on this flight, not tonight.
+casablancas182 I also always read during flights... On the inside I'm frozen with fear xD
Hate flying ahah
+Ashley Pomeroy de
+Cláudia Ferreira me too xD
I have never seen the sky this dark during the day. It must have been a very wild ride. Best storm takeoff footage I've seen in a long time. Awesome!
All of those clouds blocked the whole sky.
Pull over, I've decided to walk!
Austin HUI but you can get out and free fall :D
Hahahaha, YESSSSSSSS!
😂
Chasing the sun... Beautiful video!!!
Azul is the best brazilian Airlines company and their Embraer aircraft's are amazing .
This video may have lacked some polish, but the content more than makes up for it!! Fantastic video. Well done and thank you for posting. :)
Amazing video. You’ve captured the weather and clouds on point
R.I.P Headphone users
I'm still alive. Lol. 😂
Lol😂😂
Im still alive
Thanatos9029 I am wearing headphones and I can still hear
😂😂😂
OMG I love the storms their energy is so cool
BTW very beautiful video☁☁☁
Oh gosh. Beautiful and so...scary. I would pass out o.o
Sanfthauch same!!!!! Omg let's not fly in this weather....it's better if we see it in videos 😜😜
Nice! I'm from Brazil (I live in America and was born there) Que legal! Must have been a crazy experience!
the video quality is much better than a lot others taken with lossy cell phones...
Very nice view in last minutes of video.thanx
Yes, going around it.
The first question you have, can turbulence cause an aircraft go out of control and crash? Whilst turbulence can be uncomfortable and sometimes scary there are no reports or incidents that I know of that have caused an aircraft to lose control.
As for your second question, what you have been told is correct. The passengers are the eyes and ears of the airplane, lights are dimmed and blinds-up so that passengers can see fire, leaks etc. - it really is as simple as that :)
Once we wer fliying from Savador to Sao Paulo takig off during he night in the same coditions. Any way it was a fantastic flight because you can see the lightnings and the clouds as the same as in the video...It was pretty amazing!!!
Muy impresionante y buen video...👍desde 🇲🇽
Amazing spiral take-off
Pilot avoided the storm well, nice vid.
Awesome turn.
Great video!
awesome video, creepy take off. i suprised you still took of in that kind of weather!
comandante corajoso pois o mau tempo estava próximo boas imagens pra vc que filmou legal
Awesome video!!!
Pilot:
Hey, there's a good cell off to the right!
Co-pilot: I say go for it.
Pilot: Hell yeah, rockin' and rollin'
Pardon the nooby question...
Isn't it dangerous to fly in that weather?
Yes, but in some cases when the storm is not directly in that location, they are usually doing landing and take off procedures. But if the storm was in that location, it would be dangerous to take off or land.
Hm...
+Atomic_Thomas it's only dangerous when you have hail formation, thunders do not affect the aircraft, nor does the wind. Turbulence it's unconfortable for the passenger so in general airlines avoid than when possible. But as I said before the problem it's more with the hail formation that can serious damage an aircraft.
yes, but by the looks of this, the pilot saw that there was a gap he can get out of, so he climbed up in a climbing turn, and the whole flight looked like a pretty steep climb to get away from it
+AndrewSephiTV thunderstorms have hail and severe turbulence in updraughts and downdraughts, these are formed from cumulonimbus cloud, and are very dangerous
Wow great video
that video scares me flying into scary clouds
SORY
YOU ar stoiupid
This footage is amazing!
slightly apocalyptic and strangely beautiful
dang, thats crazy. your pilot must of had balls of steel lol! Awesome vid too
No camera can convey the beauty of the scenery :)
Ive heard nothing but great things about Azul. Very similar to its American cousin JetBlue.
my right ear enjoyed this
These fsx videos are getting more realistic everyday!
Wow that is scary, beautiful once you were up above the first cloud bank!
Cool video!
Legal o vídeo.
I give a Thumbs Up for the video.
Azul Airlines, the best!!!
Excited takeoff!
Honestly, it takes a lot to bring down an aircraft. They've been hit by lightning before and still survive fully intact and functional. The airplane is grounded, so the electricity won't arc into the cabin, there isn't a whole lot of turbulence there, and rain doesn't much matter. There is nothing wrong with taking off in a thunderstorm
That was very cool video however frightening to be on the plane. It looked like he flew towards the lightening.
Thank you
You were correct in that planes have been hit by lightning before, in fact somewhere on the planet is happens everyday, several times. It is not all too serious as long as electronics and the hydraulics controlled by electronics are left unharmed. A commercial craft has "hot throws" at ends of wings and along fuselage, sometimes you can see the rods below on some Boeing models, but planes are designed to take a strike and spread the heat around the entire fuselage and out the "ground rods"/
Thank you.
This new gen flight simulator looks great. It seems so real!
Greetings from Tin in Ferrol - Spain
Cool thunder and lightning effects ;-) The quality isn´t that bad at all - compared to the major number of vids on utube...
I had to search here cos I'm gonna be flying in a storm. It's still beyond me how these big bastards can fly
awesome video, must have been pretty scary though right? some amazing looking sky around 9:00
That was incredible. Enough to put you off flying for good. Where was this?
this is just awesome
I know virtually nothing about flying, but that cannot be a good idea.
the sun is always shinning above the clouds.
Good weather!
With the sun, the moon with a lot of stars and the clearing sky, yes
Vinicius Lopes es exelente tu video!!! Me podrias decir de que ciudad es el despegue? desde ya muchas gracias amigo Argentina
Yo sé que és Brasil pero no sé cual ciudad. Me. Gustaria saber tambien
Qual a cidade que você filmou a decolagem Vinicius
?
Further more weather was not the cause of the AA 1420 crash. AA1420 ran off the end of the runway partly because the spoilers were not armed and did not deploy hindering their ability to stop on a wet runway in those wind conditions. The winds were far higher than what that airplane was able to handle. The weather was a contributing factor as it increased the work load of the pilots resulting in them not arming the spoilers.
Despite that, thunderstorms are safe to fly through. The plane is not earthed so becomes 'part of the lightning' is struck. Same effect if you were holding a power line and not touching the ground- nothing would happen. Anyway, plane's bodies create a 'faraday cage' around the interior, so all internal devices are protected.
FAKE NEWS! LOL!!! I've been on planes that hit worse turbulence than this with sunny skies. Kudos to that pilot! AMAZING video! You have made one adrenaline junkie very happy! Thank you!
In the cockpit, they have instruments that sill tell you if there is a windshear up ahead
Oh god!! I would be so scared to take off in that weather!!
That must have been scary going through those thunderclouds.Yeah I remember going through dark clouds and i really held onto the armrests of my seat until the turbulence was over.
What time was it
sweet vid.
wtf was that ding sound
thats the sound of "alright everybody, this is it, the moment of truth, we r going in , hold on your balls"
+elam
LOL... my same thought, and then realized later on it was the notification bell. He definitely was on the mark re-the audio quality!
wow huge storm like ilike
Wind direction dictates which direction you take off in so 360 degree turns are very common...You have to take off into the wind (or as into the wind as possible)...on another day you may have taken off in the opposite direction.
this is why i don't fly. whatever i go i drive in my car. flying during a thunder storm is beyond dangerous.
That is very true according to the statistics! Yes it looks scary flying in thunderstorms such as this. But these pilots are professionals and know what they are doing. If the conditions are too dangerous to take off in, they will either postpone or cancel the flight. I myself have been in weather delays. Cars crash every single day on the streets, freeways and highways. But aviation is the most controlled and monitored method of travel, which is why it is much safer than driving. On the road, some drunk or inattentive driver can run a red light and broadside you in a heartbeat and you may not even see it coming. But what are the chances of that happening at 20,000 or 30,000 feet? I used to be afraid to fly when I was a kid. I still do get a little nervous when turbulence hits, especially if it's considerable or severe. But for the most part, I sleep on jetliners now. It's quite relaxing if it's a smooth and uneventful flight. But I'm not criticizing you or putting you down at all. Like I said, I used to be scared to death to fly. Now I can't to go on vacation every summer! I guess it's something you get used to the more you do it.
kenpalmer1965 good description and conclusion but try to write a smaller comment because your comment took me 2 hours to read !
Out of curiosity, this took you 2 hours to read?
kenpalmer1965
It's called hyperbole to emphasize the sense of the length of your comment.
They do have a choice ! Safety is number 1 priority and ALL airlines enforce it
Muito bom
If you fly in thunderstorms so are you safe if your plane gets hit because it has aluminium around its so its survive, but it dident have it then you are screwed but all planes i think have it
Did anyone notice the plane shaking?
Thats called turbulance.
That's the first thing I noticed
Now that was brave....!
This flight had to be delayed a ton I once was at BWI and my flight on southwest was originally apost to take off at 7 pm but it got delayed all the way back to 11:30 pm. And it was in this kindov weather. So take that people who say you never takeoff in the us in this kind of weather :-)
im not sure really but i guess it seems like the storm isn't directly overhead. the main focus is to not get caught in a downdraft which would be in the center of the storm...
People complaining about the decision to take off during a thunderstorm. Can you imagine the backlog of flights if they cancelled every time there was a thunderstorm? Not to mention the crybabies in the airport yelling and screaming about missing their flights. I hate the feeling of flying in any weather but I've not heard about plane crashes due to a thunderstorm.
too cool!!!!!
so pretty :D
was it windy inside of plane or what?
Obrigado!
The scariest part about flying is the car ride on the way home
Mycron Videos
I can't believe they are allowed to take off while the lightning and thunder is going? Normally don't they wait for it to clear?
Lightning doesn't effect modern planes as much as it used to
Anyone else get sleepy hearing the cabin noise? And what was that ding? Was that lightening hitting the plane?
LOL
It's scary but looks SICKKKK
Nice
Unlike others I believe you are a real pilot. But: Flying these medium and heavy planes is way different from flying a C172. They are far less sensitive to turbulence and wind shear.
Firstly, if the weather was too bad for this plane they hadn't been allowed to take off. Trust the pilots and the ATC.
Secondly, the reason why this takeoff was safe: These planes maintain V2+15+wind correction after takeoff, and accelerate. So if they calculate for the gusts, even a 40+ knot won't cause problems.
No words... should have sent a poet!
Where I live not in a million years would they set off in that weather ;)
I'm sorry. The plane is grounded to WHAT? To the ground it just left?
that seem to be a very hard turbulence
Actually the real storm seems to be far away still, he might have been clipping the edge of it, but if you look at the lightning he doesn't seem to be in it.
Cameras are electronic devices with an on and off switch that can noe be used below 10,000 feet. maybe the Ahole using it messed up the navigational system.
Keep her goooooin keep her gooooin
Good thing the plane didn't get struck by lightening o.o
Where was this?
Wait they fly through weather like that I have never been in something like that
I never would fly when the weather is so stormy... nope
My thoughts if I was sitting in the cabin at the end of that runway "This-is-going-to-suck"!
Well just to reassure you nothing is going to happen to a plane in that. Turbulence is the biggest factor there and the odds of going down from that is like shooting an arrow and hitting a bull's eye from 1/2 of a mile.
I understand that much at least. None the less, it makes for an uncomfortable ride for folks who don't fly too often.
Tim Alcoser True, I've always loved flying, but had one bad landing and now I'm nervous as Hell when flying. I still love planes though so I do hope I can conquer it, even though I don't fly that often.
Brave captain and co.
