I’m older n way more calmer n collected so don’t worry about me saying dumb bs cuz I don’t even feel like wasting time on discord n only want to be part of your community cuz I like your videos n I enjoyed being part of the community before and I want to be able to talk to people about the games I enjoy playing
Someone is running a scam through your comments. Claiming we won a give away then asking for money for shipping. I have screen shots of everything. I didn't send them anything.
I get that the hippogriff and said preorder items related to mounts are locked behind quests, but what about the clothing items? I linked my acount but it wont let me equip said clothing
@@alexanderderivas6189I would argue no. If that happened it would destroy them. There are hames like that and either the multiplayer or single player always suffers in quality, depth, or balance.
I'm not even a Harry Potter fan. This blows Harry's story out of the water. The game is huge and so well put together. It's very refreshing getting a full priced game that is actually worth the money! I'm very satisfied.
@@jimweidema3668 the funny thing about it is that they included a gay character and a trans character in the game... People just hate because they can.
Also with the Arithmancy doors, the frame of the door has the correct animals from left to right, being 0-9. So you don't need to have cheat sheet next to you.
@@serghurt56 It's a huge help but it can also be distracting since it shows things through walls and in Hogwarts it can mean that it will show you some stuff that is faaar beyond your reach.
If there's one thing I'd say 40 hours in is don't bother exploring until you have that revelio skill and your broom. Once you get on your broom when you use upgraded revelio, it reveals loads of markers on the world in game. Much easier navigating whee you want to go. I've a load of merlin trials and ancient magic locations done with this method
I played about 50 hours, solved a lot of Merlin trials and Ancient magic puzzled and wondered why I don't get a bigger inventory and more ancient magic slots - only to discover that I need to 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘦 completed challenges in the challenge menu.
Handy tip for the door. You don't actually need to keep an image of the cheat sheet. If you look at the door, all the animals around the "arch" are in order of their numbers 0 to 9 (going clockwise). Starting with the Demiguise on the bottom left (zero), ending with the 9-headed hydra on the bottom right (nine).
Pro tip, a black flag on a location either in hogwarts local map or next to the map name up the top means there's a side quest or main quest event there. If you're looking for side quests check to see if there's a flag posted up.
I wish they added Draco Malfoy's "Serpensortia spell" from Chamber of Secrets. Would be awesome to summon snakes to attack your enemy, especially if you're a Slytherin.
House specific spells would have been awesome, indeed. Brilliant, even. The ability to perform telekinetic actions without incantation (having to learn a spell) aside from the default attack could add more to how dynamic the world feels
@@entertainmentjunkie You’re thinking of “Sectumsempra”. Serpensortia is from Chamber of Secrets, when Draco and Harry dueled for the first time. That’s when everyone found out Harry is a parselmouth.
for me its so hard to track what i target combined with other NPC doing spells at the same time. i know you can cycle thru them with RIGHT STICK, but i find it kinda hard with controller. probably a learning process cuz i mostly play games with m&k
@@maxelito7590Try turning off "camera based targeting" or something like that in the settings. Turning it off allows you to look around at enemies without it switching automatically. If you've already tried that. I don't know. Maybe try slowing down the camera speed or your sensitivity. Hope it helps!
One thing I hope they add in dlc is a companion magical beast option so you can have a Niffler running around with you which guides you to nearby treasures etc and the ability to use the beasts you capture for this and mounts
They did a fantastic job with this game. It's been way too long for us to be given a complete game at launch that can satisfy us without requiring a group of friends and a bunch of anxiety. This game is HUGE ... the video should give insight. I have played for 8 hours and just now unlocked traits and flying.
@@philipcsiki8033 I agree with you, I feel like the side quests and collectibles are Ubisoft esque with the Assassins Creed titles since and around Origins. The Demiguise guy for the alohomora (unlocking spell) sounds so cringe too. He sounds like an Englishman but I swear he's Japanese 😅.
@@philipcsiki8033 For me the biggest con is that you can't interact with the characters outside their quests. And all NPC feel decorative. No one has a line of some sort that they will give you when you interact with them. Makes the world way less emersive. Other con is the non-existent branching. For this sort of games, a more branching story is a must. Your decisions basically do jack. They may result in a bit more coin, but that's it. Really hard on the replayability aspect because of it. But I really love the combat, so just doing one run and going and clearing some enemies is what made me spend few hours more in it.
You don't need a cheat sheet if you look closely, the respective numbers are reflected in the creature pictures ... 😏 (I took one look at it and was like, there has to be a way to figure this out, and there is ... guess I'll sort myself into Ravenclaw now) Demiguise - nothing Unicorn - 1 horn Graphorn - 2 horns Runespoor - 3 heads Fwooper - 4 tails ??? - 5 legs Salamander - 6 "appendages" (legs, head, tail) ??? - body looks like a 7 Spider - 8 legs (duh) Hydra - 9 heads Tadaaa! 😎
I have to disagree a bit about the plant pots, yes you can grow anything in the larger ones but being able to grow 5 of each small item is actually fairly useful if you are brewing a lot of potions. Not to mention that growing items in the larger pots, sadly, does not increase how many you get back. Example: No matter what sized pot you use for Dittany leaves, you will always get back 5 leaves. (6 if you use fertilizer). On the subject of fertilizer, it's better to use it on Mandrakes, Tentaculas, or Chomping Cabbages since they only produce 1 per growth normally. Sadly it's not as useful on other plants since it only adds 1 in return.
The whole point of large pots or any pot is to grow certain plants from. Its not about the quantity. Its about having the ingredients that are needed to be able to then brew the better potions
One of the best tips I can give you regarding killing a character with high HP (like Trolls) with ease, is that to cast Imperio (mind-control curse) on them, they won't attack you back anymore. You can achieve 70+ combo streak with this so feel free to use ancient magic on them too.
@AndyReloads If You Go To The Accessibility Options And Turn On “High Contrast Gameplay”, You Can Have An Easier Time Finding Interactable Things Around The World Especially After Casting Revelio. Red = Enemies Green = Interactive NPCs Yellow = Objects, Items, And Non Harm-able Creatures Blue = Your Character Sky Blue = Objects That Require Spells Or Items To Interact With
Here are my tips which no youtuber seems to be talking about: 1. In settings there is an option to enable audio visualizer, have this on it's extremely helpful when you use revelio the ringing of pages gets a bell symbol that you can follow and get the pages easily and it's handy for other things questing or even while fighting you basically get a prompt that tells you someone teleported behind you for example. 2. Damage buffs: The traits ambush and unforgivable are the highest damage buffers in game but there is a catch for both. Ambush does the most but it needs you to attack from stealth luckily an invisibility potion makes it on always and you can curse an enemy before attacking to do the most damage possible, unforgivable gives you a high damage buff when something is cursed however ambush is better it also applies to plants and well as petrificus totallus and that matters because you only half hp a troll that is petrified but with ambush it gets one shotted. Ambush lets you play like a skyrim sneak archer you spells are one shotting enemies in stealth. Plants like cabbage do 1k+ damage per bite if you threw them while in stealth. 3. Broom quest from weekes shop in hogsmead do this as early as possible your broom will become super fast but it costs a lot of gold luckily capturing animals lets you sell each for 120 gold so getting around 15,000 for the broom is not only east but super worth it since there are places with no nearby fast travel like hen something hideout that has a bunch of quest related to it. Also get all the foo flames by flying around the map so that it's fully colored this also lets you know were are the secondary activities are and the dens of creatures. 4. There are ways to more easily kill enemies and that's abusing stuns if you freeze a target you can walk up to it and petrify it to one shot it. You can't petrify if other enemies see you unless they are also stunned so you can aresto 1 enemy, glacius 1 enemy, transform 1 enemy, imperio 1 enemy, crucio 1 enemy and avada 1 enemy so you basically can clear any room easily by abusing them. Descendo on the transformed enemy one shots it you can magic throw to kill 2 with 1 spell. So because of this if you bombarda the enemies next to each other and one shot them, confrigo and kill other enemies if they spot you, you can use these to kill them off easily. 5. You should have a pair of all 12 animals and you will only have 1 phoenix. You need the animals because what they give you as a drop is used to upgrade your gear and you want to upgrades as early as possible. You should have 4 breeders always pumping out animals because it gives a ton of XP and 4 creatures sold is 600 gold. 6. Unlock all the spells as soon as possible as well as grab all the demiguise to get alohamora rank 3 fast to unlock the third difficulty locks because many legendary chests or rooms filled with loot are behind that and this makes you op. I recommend you attend the class that teaches you how to take care of pets and then you get the sack to start catching pets early on because that's the best money making method in game which lets you buy things from vendors and that lets you finish the assignments faster so you get all the spells faster. 7. READ usually there is a secret that not even revelio lets you know about unless you read whatever note there is and those give you loot! 8. Revelio upgrade is the first thing you should get imo it also gets a longer range when you are on a mount!
If you notice on those doors, the symbols are listed in numerical order of the animals. So if you can’t remember the cheat sheet you can just count digits from the bottom left pictures going up and over the door in order from 0 to 9. The pictures have visual clues as well. One unicorn horn, 8 spider legs, etc etc.
@@f.vlinder4171 yeah, the only reason it took me 20 mins to figure out a door is because i didn't realise they start from 0 :D And then 4 doors later I found the cheat sheet..
I first from all of my friends, solved this, and i just assumed it from 0 to 9 and dont even know about cheatsheat) but im programmer, for me counting for 0 is only available option)
I figured it out immediately without the cheat sheet because most of the creatures correspond quite obviously with a number. Unicorns have 1 horn, spiders have 8 legs, that furry thing has 5 legs, those hydra things have 3 and 9 heads respectively. You can't go wrong if you realize that the creatures are displayed in numerical order. You seriously do not need the cheat sheet for these puzzles.
Definitely figured out the puzzle doors myself. Was fairly intuitive. Things I didn't realize right away are the map icons, how zooming in is crucial to finding them all and that there are side quests on your map that don't show up on your Quest log. Also extended range Revelio is the GOAT
Elden Ring, God war 4 and Ragnarok, Spiderman, Jedi fallen Order, Red Dead Redemption II, Ghost of Tsushima, Resident Evil?? In the last years there have been insane single player games
@@summeracount9986 can someone explain to me what the craze is about elden ring. Sure the combat is fun, but the world is huge, empty and completely dead. In most of the admittedly cool looking castles and cities there are nothing but brainless NPCs that hate you to death and want nothing more than to kill you. After the tutorial there is little to no indication about what to do or barely any story pointers. It's just a big, dead world
Use confringo on the basins with the dragon/wyvern on them highlighted blue when casting revelio. It drops a guide page (use accio if the page is out of reach). Also, I’d suggest continuing to play the main story line until you get the alohamora spell from the caretaker.
on the room of requirements tip. he missed a very important part... hoppers and chopping stations are awesome. they randomly generate resources. so just popping 3 of each down will give you some extra resources. the chopping stations are a nice extra, but I mostly love the hoppers. it's free potions without needing mats. cause even if you lack a certain item, they can still drop the potion. it's mostly useful for non growable materials and at the start of the game though. once you play for a few hours you'll prolly have tons of mats just rotting in your inventory xP
the stealth attack where you got the enemy to attack one of its own reminds me so much of what i used to do in assassins creed (original saga of games not the later ones) by infecting people with the craze dart/arrow and letting them eliminate the remaining guards.. good to see some familiar gameplay style i can carry over
If you climb up on structures or position next to a big hill, you can also use spells like accio to move enemies into position for massive fall damage. That felt a bit like Batman, using stealth to get high ground and then striking from the shadows above a camp of goons. 🤭
Those puzzle with the 2 locks for each door. I simply set one lock on one imagine and then cycle through the other lock checking the door after each switch. If none work, I got to the first lock and change it to the next image and repeat the process on the second light cycling through them. There’s only so many combinations and it’s a pretty quick process.
The images are already in order around the door starting with 0 on the bottom left then following it around to 9 on the bottom right. It's so much faster I swear. 😅
My tip is when you are in the room of requirement and want to use Evanesco, make sure you are also pressing the LT button if you are using an xbox controller it should bring a small circle that lets you get a better aim. It doesn’t help much in combat but when decorating it is invaluable because before using that, the evanesco and switching spell kept aiming at the walls and floor as a whole
On PC it's the Caps lock button. You can hold target on something and switch left and right to go to each object. You can also hold down the right mouse button and it also aims but once you let it go, it goes away.
With the Arithmancy doors, its actually VERY easy to remember. The number each creature is assigned, correlates with soemthing OF that number to that creature. 0 - no horns 1 - 1 horn (Unicorn) 2 - 2 horns (Ram) 3 - 3 heads (Basilisk) 4 - 4 Talons (?) (Owl) 5 - 5 legs ( I dnt even know) 6 - 6 Horns (Salamander) 7 - 7 Legs (Again, WTF even) 8 - 8 legs (Spider) 9 - 9 Heads (Hydra) Once you figure that out, you dont need the cheat sheet.
10:00 You can also use that sprint ability to get through some of the crouching areas quicker. Just the short ones, but it can help if you're trying to speed run.
So far the thing that has taken the longest for me to figure out was changing the appearance of the gear items. I kept looking for a link to a different menu and only recently realized that you have to hover over the individual item type to get the option to change its appearance.
I would love to be able to cast spells on the students and other npcs. It could even be harmless spells like levitating them, summoning them, freezing, etc. We would not even need to be able to hurt or damage them. It would be an easy mechanic to add considering it’s already in use on most animals.
Or if you could kill students and teachers with damaging spells and avacadavera ect, and they have a morality system similar to red dead redemption. That would been kinda cool imo
@@neowolf09 wouldnt really work though because first time yo do it you would be banned from hogwarts and all of the other towns and no npc or anyone would want to go near you so it would massively restrict gameplay
@@joshsmada no not really, it's older hogwarts, in the 1800s and easily they could be more lax about certain things. I mean there are entire families in the game that use the unforgivable curses, and using one in front of a student or teacher in game doesn't get you sent directly to Azkaban. So yea your argument has no foundation unfortunately.
I was level 15 when I saw this video and I can tell you these are all FANTASTIC tips. Every single one. Most of them I didn’t know and completely changed the game for me in the best way. Very well done video. You’ve earned a subscribe 🙌🏻
You don't need a screen shot or cheat sheet for the puzzle doors. The guide is literally pictured around the door, each animal has 0-9 appendages etc. :)
Another odd tip, if you feel like you’re about to be hit by an attack or just don’t feel like dodging it than you can cast any of the unforgivable spells or the ancient magic to completely cut off or dodge the attack entirely.
Petrificus Totalus just randomly unlocked for me and I didn't realize I could cast it until I was looking through my spells. They should have added a class where you learned the spell, I think the game could use more "school" moments to add to the immersion a bit. Seems like a missed opportunity. Still I'm loving the game so much, already at 90% completion and its been a blast!
I bought this game literally on a whim as I had not seen any of the movies yet. I mean I always planned on getting it but I was waiting because I had enough saved for either this or Star Wars and before it got delayed I figured I could just be patient for Star Wars. Well I found out it was delayed and I said screw it I need something to get me through March AND April. Well this game has been a pleasant surprise. I wasn’t sure I was going to like wand combat. I fucking love it. I had almost beat it maybe like 10 hours to go in my playthrough and I stopped myself, watched ALL the Harry Potter movies for the first time in my life. Fell in love with the wizarding world, started watching fantastic beasts and I know this is an unpopular opinion but I loved those movies even more. To me it was fascinating to see the wizarding world outside of Hogwarts. Hell outside of Britain. I loved to see how wizards and witches lived their lives outside of a school. I loved seeing what an auror gets to do. I loved Newt as a character. I loved Johnny Depp as Grinwald. I just loved to see all the extra world building. So I started a new game before finishing with a fresh perspective also while still getting to experience the latter part of the game for the first time. I am enjoying this game way more than I ever anticipated. I hope it wins a lot of awards so we can get a 2nd and a third. And even a fourth where we get to play as our adult selves and maybe get to explore an open world with multiple cities. Like we get to choose our career path while the main narrative is the same for the most part no matter your career choice, but your career choice affects how you interact within that narrative and affects choices you can make and even get separate independent quest lines as well just for your career choice. Like maybe there’s an overarching antagonist and storyline and then your career choice has to do with your reasons why you’re after said person, either because maybe your an auror, or a rival dark wizard, or you’re an unspeakable on a secret mission, or a magizoologist and this antagonist is the leader of some poachers, etc.
Reading your story about discovering the HP world for the first time made me feel really nostalgic. I discovered it in the books when I was around 12 and I grew up with them, read the books and watched the movies several times. As an adult I havent read the books in a long time but got the game as a Christmas present and well, it's not like discovering the HP world for the first time but it's still pretty magical.
This was really good. I realised I’ve spent too much time on side quests & exploring that I’m level 12 and just did my first herbology & potions class haha. Did figure out the door icon in chalk puzzle on my own!
Doing the main story first until things are unlocked is key. I spent a few hours just exploring Hogwarts and doing side stuff and I think I was like level 23 before I even got the room of requirement and the talent tree and I could immediately fill like half the talent tree and didn't even need the RoR at that point. Same with the broom, I had unlocked so many fast travel points by the time I got the broom that I barely even needed it except for the challenges. I wish it made that more clear that doing side stuff can over-level you so fast. I almost wish that they would nerf the amount of EXP you get for exploration stuff. I was level 15 before I even stepped out of Hogwarts just from running around and collecting pages.
I hear you but at the same time I would rather ride the hippogriff or broom to my destination than fast travel. I dont want this game going by too fast
@@fusssel7178 Yeah, I think they want you to play the main story until you get to a locked quest then meet the requirements for that quest and then do it, and repeat that, but that's not really how people play RPGs typically, especially one that every first time player is going to just want to explore the world in. The amount of EXP you get from exploration and side quests needs to be nerfed I think.
Trust me, that isn't over-leveling, that's just the bare minimum needed to do the quest. The only reason I state this is because of the end of year feast for the house cup, needing level 34 to actually partake, plus you need to complete the field guide by the looks of things to actually partake in doing the O.W.L's
That’s pretty much exactly where I was when I unlocked RoR and broom and then realized the same that I should probably do a little more story since I kept running into things I couldn’t do while exploring, like alohamora and some spells needed to explode things lol
I’m still about 90 minutes away from being able to play but your vids have been helping me to Know how to attack this massive game and get the best out of it. Appreciate it, new sub!
Thanks for the good tips. You can also get the magical animals bag. Catch them and sale them in hogsmade and speed up your gallions money collection. Also the dead enemies on cementeries you have to use confringo or incendio first to weak them and kill them faster and collect death stench.
This video was so instructive and interesting! I'm a huge HP fan but am so green on what to expect from the game!! Would definitely love your perspective on where to invest talent upgrades (especially since you say they are not refundable)!
I am older and new to gaming and only because of this game. I don’t understand much of what you are saying and need a real beginners guide. I mean for someone who has not played games, is a huge harry potter fan and is here only to experience hogwarts. HL for dummies so to speak. That would be great. I really enjoy your very good quality content, it is just too advanced for me.
@@mygg15 I'm an "older" gamer myself. Been playing since the early 80s. I can tell you one thing about games like this. Don't try to do to much at first. Stick with the main quest line for about 10 hours or so.. not doing that will put you in an infinite world of wtf am I supposed to be doing now and you'll get frustrated. Esp with an open world game such as this. Watch a few vids of "what I wish I knew before playing" videos from Andy and other content creators on YT. There are tons of creators who will help in a bunch of different ways. Most importantly though, just have fun. Make the game/world what you want! You can always start over or replay it! Don't sweat it.. you're only making a movie for yourself and your enjoyment. Welcome to gaming! Love and peace ✌️
I just started playing this recently and it is so easy to get over powered. If you spam side quests or explore after the broom unlocks and keep on fighting enemies. You will end up way to OP for the story even without the curses. So, if you want to avoid that, just take it slow.
Tip with the arithmancy doors, the symbols are in order going from bottom left over to bottom right (0-9), saves you from constantly opening up the cheat sheet from your inventory if you can't remember them
I figured it was like this when I was first trying to solve it but what I didn’t know was the first one was 0, so I was solving it as the symbols being 1-10 and wondering why it wasn’t working lol
Quick note abt the arithmancy doors, they have the symbols in order from left to right 0-9 around the door so you don’t need to refer to the sheet every time. Most of the symbols also have creatures with the corresponding number of appendages or horns etc.
In truth, I simply figured it out the same way as you did. My only initial misstep was I thought they'd be 1-9 + 0, but once I put the 0 at the beginning rather than the end, I'd opened my 1st door even before Professor Weasley had taken me to the Great Hall. (Have to hurry on the ? selection and looting the chest next to it though because it'll usually take you out of her "follow her" quest range and start the failure countdown timer.)
2:50 it’s actually very easy to guess, I completed the entire game and unlocked every single one of thoes about as quickly as the locked door menu, especially the ones that are near doors are easiest, you don’t even have to move you keep one as a control, walk in the middle of the other and the door and all you have to do is spam f and rotate your camera, worst case scenario you hit the control 7 times best case you get it in less than 20 seconds
Thank you very much for this, I’ve literally just started the game and I have a habit of wanting to explore straight away and get collectibles etc so these tips will help me stay on track and only wander off when I’m ready haha
When I was 11YO I wrote a letter into Official Xbox Magazine saying how cool it would be to have a RPG open world Harry Potter game and can’t believe I am now playing it - well over due but worth the wait!!
You don't need the cheat sheet. The creatures are displayed around the door in numerical order. Bottom left is 0, then clockwise to bottom right which is 9
Great video! Finished the main story at level 31 and still don't have the "green" spells unlocked nor the alohamora level III :)) I have to mention that you missed a couple good tips. First and the most simple is about the black paintings and lumos spell to retrieve a moth back in the painting. Also don't do like I did many times and sell all the extraordinary and legendary gear because later in game you'll need it for upgrade at the enchanted loom in room of requirements. Like & Subscribed
i am eagerly waiting for this game... the reviews have been good so far. not really any bugs or glitches it seems... i got the early access deluxe version. so its some time tonight/ tomorrow.
A couple things I thought of when watching the video you didn’t mention. Under talents I would also recommend getting the improved wiggenweld potions which add more health restoration when using a potion. Also in the room of requirement deek can change the ambiance but you can actually change the room design / colors/ sizes etc with a spell that professor Wesley gives you in that same room requirement quest line.
My sister actually came up with an amazing idea for the arithmancy doors before we even found the cheat sheet. If you look at each symbol you can also see they signify the number they associated to in some way. The unicorn having one horn so it’s 1, goat having two horns so it’s 2, 3 heads for that thing, 8 for the spider cause its legs and so on. The only ones we couldn’t come up with a reason for were 4 and 7 but knowing the rest made it incredibly easy to just know how it goes. Just a nice tip incase you don’t have the paper. ^^
Your hint on d pad to swap map pages also works on potion tables and potting tables. Only reason I actually use the 5x small for growing dittany for potion farming.
The door puzzle, that cheat sheet is not helping me at all, so I just leave one cube on an image and turn the other one and try the door until I get the correct combination! Hey, it’s been working for me! Got most of them open, and it takes me about 5 min to find the correct image at the most!
Man didn't sleep and just gamed and edited for two days straight to release a guide on an unreleased game and likely lessen his own experience. I respect the grind
Don't worry about taking a photo of the arithmancy cheat sheet... The images are in order around the door from 0-9, left to right, starting with the demiguise
This through my off at first as I was trying to start with 1 and going to 10 but it didnt work and I never realized it started with 0 until I got to the arithmancy chalkboard
Question; if you opt not to go down the dark arts route (and hence, not get the 3 unforgiveable curses) are you able to be just as strong? Is there a set of other spells you get access to by not going the dark arts route? I.e. is there a trade-off. Thanks.
To answer this question: No. If you don't go dark arts, you are just missing out on those spells. But I think that's kind of the point, right? It's a temptation. The only thing you really miss out on is the insta-kill of Avada Kedavra (which is big, I'll admit) and the Imperius options.
@@lyndzzz8292 I've been really careful to NOT use those spells where other people can see me, though, so I'm not 100% sure if there's a punishment for learning them. Like, any time there's a character running with me, I just go... >_>; oh no i am a small friendly child with no unforgivable knowledge...
@@Venjamin I can confirm there is no punishment if used outside of hogwarts, the only change is your teachers get disappointed with you verbally if used on school ground, and students start talking about you. There is no consequence to the gameplay however
Arithmancy tip I figured out! Study the sheet. Count the horns on the images, count the legs. Count the heads. 9 heads is the hydra for 9. 8 legs is the spider for 8, etc.
@@omarwright7238 open world action rpg with protagonist getting legendary mysterious powers based on pre established lore from the books... Sounds pretty similar to me
I played through and just finished in story mode! Now I've gone and created a new character and I'm playing in easy mode. There are a lot of changes between the two modes. I also chose a different house this time so I've already actually gotten to do a quest that wasn't available to me last time! But all of your tips are very useful. I will keep them in mind as I play through again. Thanks!
Love the content brother ,stumbled across your channel a couple months back and I have to say I absolutely love it here ,you awesome mate. Keep the grind up 😎💪🏼
i find it funny that I was in lvl 25 or something before unlocking the talent points 🤣 even the room of requirement came soon to me despite the high level I was in.
For the Arithmancy doors, I've found something better than taking a photo. The symbols always line the door in the same order, going from 0-9 when viewed left to right. That is a much easier and quicker way to identify the associated number, and I haven't found a door that was an exception to this rule as of yet.
For the arithmancy doors I didn’t even know that you could find that sheet of paper I figured it out. I first thought it was 1-10 then after trying for like an hour I realized that it was 0-9
Thanks for the tips! Does using the unforgivable curses affect the story? I’d like to use them but don’t really want to get a ‘evil’ route of the story.
Love this game, it’s different to how I expected but I’ve been playing it since the deluxe edition release date and I love it. At first I was a bit on the fence as I wasn’t sure if it was good or not but after playing now for a longish while I love it. Thanks for the info also, those puzzles confused the hell out of me.
Fyi, the Jackdaw quest is house dependent. So it's not always under the school, slyth is in a cave with toast, and gryph is in the kitchen and the pumpkin patch.
Thank you! I spent entire Friday night on just walking around Hogsmead, but I felt tired in the end, and started thinking maybe I shouldn't be exploring so much so early, but focus on the main story in stead.
I'm absolutely LOVING this game. I have an RTX 1650 (4 GB), 16 GB Ram, and SSD. It runs flawlessly at 2560 x 1440 on High settings. Haven't had a single issue with stuttering. I use an XBOX One controller and have found the combat to be very fluid, interesting, and fun. You can change your spell set on a whim, which is super nice. I do agree with your take on the clothing, though. Waaay too much and you do end up spending a lot of time rummaging through what's useless and what increases your stats. Once you unlock the broom, the game opens up immensely. The puzzles are simple but fun, dueling is a blast, summoner's court is a blast. The voice acting is top-notch and the facial expressions on every single character are fantastic. Have put in 24+ hours in just 4 days (and I'm 38, my daughter lives with me, and work a full-time job). I haven't played a video game this much in forever! I strongly recommend this game to any HP fans. It's super immersive and it's very very beautiful to look at. I'd give the game an 8.5/10. Must play.
Thank's a lot! I'm a huge Potterhead, but I have never played games before (I guess watching my husband play Witcher 3 for hours doesn't count, although I enjoyed it a lot!) and it will be the first one for me. This helps😁 I just hope I am not too old to remember all of that 😂

I’ve seen the help with the door puzzles in quite a few videos and everyone says to take a picture of the note on your phone. You don’t need to do that. Going from left to right the pictures are numbered 0 through 9. Hope that helps some people
Hogwarts top tip. Disable the minimap, quest indicator above it, and all indicators over people's heads. You can mark your active marker in the game on the map, then hit the up button on the dpad if you need help to find it. I find the immersiveness of not having the minimap has changed the game for me beyond what I thought it would. I wish I had started the game like that.

So much for "gammers don't want single player games anymore." I'm loving this so much! It's like the good old days again. Back in 2007.
I would argue that traditionally singleplayer oriented games, such as Hogwarts Legacy and even Skyrim, would benefit greatly from the option of co-op.
@@alexanderderivas6189I would argue no. If that happened it would destroy them. There are hames like that and either the multiplayer or single player always suffers in quality, depth, or balance.

Spending one talent point into the Revelio spell upgrade is also a big help. It makes it's range faaar bigger.
I maxed out my Revelio upgrade since i plan on completing 100% later on. For you completionists folk out there, I highly recommend you do the same.
@@serghurt56 It's a huge help but it can also be distracting since it shows things through walls and in Hogwarts it can mean that it will show you some stuff that is faaar beyond your reach.
For me it was the health potions. I maxed that out fast
If there's one thing I'd say 40 hours in is don't bother exploring until you have that revelio skill and your broom. Once you get on your broom when you use upgraded revelio, it reveals loads of markers on the world in game. Much easier navigating whee you want to go. I've a load of merlin trials and ancient magic locations done with this method

i discovered it just now too.
I did it instantly because the constant exclamation points on the main menu bothered the hell out of me xD

I just wanted to write a comment with this, glad to have scrolled down a bit 😂

@@paigeeeeeeful Same, with the 9 headed hydra at the end, 5 legged crab and unicorn (uni being a prefix that means one) being additional giveaways.

Can this game receive major updates? If so it will be a possibility in the future.

Story is good but the side quests feel like a Ubisoft game. It’s alright but the fact that there’s no challenge and every character loves you is wack

This comment needs more likes. I was going to comment the same thing. Those multiple little-plant pots have been a time saver in potion crafting
@AndyReloads
If You Go To The Accessibility Options And Turn On “High Contrast Gameplay”, You Can Have An Easier Time Finding Interactable Things Around The World Especially After Casting Revelio.
Red = Enemies
Green = Interactive NPCs
Yellow = Objects, Items, And Non Harm-able Creatures
Blue = Your Character
Sky Blue = Objects That Require Spells Or Items To Interact With
Here are my tips which no youtuber seems to be talking about:
Solid tips.
If you notice on those doors, the symbols are listed in numerical order of the animals. So if you can’t remember the cheat sheet you can just count digits from the bottom left pictures going up and over the door in order from 0 to 9. The pictures have visual clues as well. One unicorn horn, 8 spider legs, etc etc.
hehe like array indexes in programming + basic math
@@f.vlinder4171 yeah, the only reason it took me 20 mins to figure out a door is because i didn't realise they start from 0 :D And then 4 doors later I found the cheat sheet..
@@Emi-Strange right?! its actually really easy, I dont get it why we need cheat sheet for these...
Hm I was holding myself back in extending the Revelio but I will defo try it next time I play it!
Revelio with extended range sounds like a nightmare inside Hogwarts

Hands down one of the best single player games that came out in a pretty long time imo
Agree but have u played elden ring ?
Elden Ring, God war 4 and Ragnarok, Spiderman, Jedi fallen Order, Red Dead Redemption II, Ghost of Tsushima, Resident Evil?? In the last years there have been insane single player games
You havent played much huh?
This game was a good single player game, but not one of the best. There have been so many better ones recently, most notably GoW and Elden ring
Also, I’d suggest continuing to play the main story line until you get the alohamora spell from the caretaker.
on the room of requirements tip. he missed a very important part... hoppers and chopping stations are awesome.
they randomly generate resources. so just popping 3 of each down will give you some extra resources. the chopping stations are a nice extra, but I mostly love the hoppers.
it's free potions without needing mats. cause even if you lack a certain item, they can still drop the potion.
it's mostly useful for non growable materials and at the start of the game though. once you play for a few hours you'll prolly have tons of mats just rotting in your inventory xP
the stealth attack where you got the enemy to attack one of its own reminds me so much of what i used to do in assassins creed (original saga of games not the later ones) by infecting people with the craze dart/arrow and letting them eliminate the remaining guards.. good to see some familiar gameplay style i can carry over
Think that was Ac Brotherhood, top game
i used to do that too lol, help me clear out enemies
They have this in ghost of tsushima too
I used to do the same thing, it was my go-to for clearing out a large heavily occupied room without getting detected.
simply set one lock on one imagine and then cycle through the other lock checking the door after each switch.
Exactly what i did😂 you got adhd as well?
My tip is when you are in the room of requirement and want to use Evanesco, make sure you are also pressing the LT button if you are using an xbox controller it should bring a small circle that lets you get a better aim. It doesn’t help much in combat but when decorating it is invaluable because before using that, the evanesco and switching spell kept aiming at the walls and floor as a whole
On PC it's the Caps lock button. You can hold target on something and switch left and right to go to each object. You can also hold down the right mouse button and it also aims but once you let it go, it goes away.
@@nae-naelynn2659 on PC you can just plug in an Xbox controller. 10X better than mouse and keyboard imo
With the Arithmancy doors, its actually VERY easy to remember. The number each creature is assigned, correlates with soemthing OF that number to that creature.
0 - no horns
1 - 1 horn (Unicorn)
2 - 2 horns (Ram)
3 - 3 heads (Basilisk)
4 - 4 Talons (?) (Owl)
5 - 5 legs ( I dnt even know)
6 - 6 Horns (Salamander)
7 - 7 Legs (Again, WTF even)
8 - 8 legs (Spider)
9 - 9 Heads (Hydra)
Once you figure that out, you dont need the cheat sheet.
you dont really need any associations. it literally just goes in order 0-9 from left to right.
3:10 you just need to count the figures on the door starting from 0... no legend and screenshot is needed
At lesdt you figured it out by yourself. I only did so when watching this guide.

@@joshsmada no not really, it's older hogwarts, in the 1800s and easily they could be more lax about certain things. Petrificus Totalus just randomly unlocked for me and I didn't realize I could cast it until I was looking through my spells. They should have added a class where you learned the spell, I think the game could use more "school" moments to add to the immersion a bit. Seems like a missed opportunity. It literally tells you that you can use it during one main quest, but I forgot which one it was.
Someone didn’t read as they went along. 😂
You could have watched the first movie in the time it took you to type all that 😂
This was really good. I realised I’ve spent too much time on side quests & exploring that I’m level 12 and just did my first herbology & potions class haha.
Did figure out the door icon in chalk puzzle on my own!
Awesome! I just took the first potions class! This tips are life savers to stop wasting time... As I was doing...
I am Level 17 right now and noticed that I need to do the story line (don't even have talents unlocked yet), soooo :D
I just wanted to say your editing and commentary on this video are phenomenal. I feel like we don't appreciate these things enough sometimes.
I’m still about 90 minutes away from being able to play but your vids have been helping me to Know how to attack this massive game and get the best out of it. Appreciate it, new sub!
The animals in the puzzle doors are literally in order on the door 0-9 also lol. And the ? Is always the even numbers and ?? The odds
This game was absolutely amazing definitely exceeded expectations
First game AAA+ category, if it even exist.
Will have a video on spells/talents soon Hugo! Great to hear you enjoyed the video and I really hope you enjoy the game :)
@@drewrok78 thank you for your kind words!
Been playing this game 7+ hours non stop loving the game for someone whos not a HP Fan. And throughly enjoyed this video. Great stuff
1st channel that actually doesnt spoil the entire story! Thanks!
No worries mate!
The doors are technically algebra but interesting.
@@mattcrawford5215 yeah never occurred to me it would start at 0 at first, so I was so confused when the spider wasn't 8 🤣
@@JonnoS112 but the spider /is/ 8
@@jikoos I know, I said I was confused when the spider wasn't 8 if you start the sequence and 1 rather than 0
O. M. G. The disillusionment charm for the eyeball chests. Big facepalm moment for me. Thanks for saving me on the galleon grind!!
How do you know what the answer is?
2:50 it’s actually very easy to guess, I completed the entire game and unlocked every single one of thoes about as quickly as the locked door menu, especially the ones that are near doors are easiest, you don’t even have to move you keep one as a control, walk in the middle of the other and the door and all you have to do is spam f and rotate your camera, worst case scenario you hit the control 7 times best case you get it in less than 20 seconds
Especially if you play on the graphics I do (high) and the symbols are barely even legible
You’re inspiring me to try to make game guides as well. I want to challenge myself to learn about the games I play and share with others
Thank you SO much for not giving spoilers. Surprisingly, some people just don't care about it, so I thank you a lot for not spoiling!
amazing to hear, thanks mate! Hope you enjoy the game :)
Thank you very much for this, I’ve literally just started the game and I have a habit of wanting to explore straight away and get collectibles etc so these tips will help me stay on track and only wander off when I’m ready haha
That’s been the mistake I’ve made is to go wandering 😂 I’ve played for like 40 hours and only just got to the jackdaw quest!! Don’t be me haha
Great guide, I really appreciate that you don't waist time I've watched a few other videos and all they do is ramble nonsense for 10 minutes
Does learning dark arts spell ruin other quest lines? And does it affect how other view you at hogwarts ?
I learned them all and didn't notice any difference.
doesnt change anything and it sucks honestly lol
On fire mate - thanks for all the quality info
When I was 11YO I wrote a letter into Official Xbox Magazine saying how cool it would be to have a RPG open world Harry Potter game and can’t believe I am now playing it - well over due but worth the wait!!
You don't need the cheat sheet. The creatures are displayed around the door in numerical order. Bottom left is 0, then clockwise to bottom right which is 9
I literally just started playing TODAY. This video is beyond helpful
I’m so excited to play this game!!! Got a day off from work just so I can play it on release day as much as possible
Great video! Finished the main story at level 31 and still don't have the "green" spells unlocked nor the alohamora level III :))
I have to mention that you missed a couple good tips. First and the most simple is about the black paintings and lumos spell to retrieve a moth back in the painting. Also don't do like I did many times and sell all the extraordinary and legendary gear because later in game you'll need it for upgrade at the enchanted loom in room of requirements.

i am eagerly waiting for this game... the reviews have been good so far. not really any bugs or glitches it seems... i got the early access deluxe version. so its some time tonight/ tomorrow.
Same, but due to assignments I have to wait until Friday
@@ked49 hope it all goes smooth for you.
The Chinese biting cabbages are DEFINITELY A MUST HAVE
A couple things I thought of when watching the video you didn’t mention.
Cheers man, hope you enjoyed the vid
I haven't been this awestruck and immersed in a game since... probably Witcher 3. I can't get enough of it.
6:27 this was incredibly helpful. I had no idea how to open these chests. Thanks.
Question; if you opt not to go down the dark arts route (and hence, not get the 3 unforgiveable curses) are you able to be just as strong? Is there a set of other spells you get access to by not going the dark arts route? I.e. is there a trade-off. Thanks.
Wondering the same thing! If there are any cons to being a dark wizard..
There is no consequence to the gameplay however
@@FknWolf TY for the clarity!
i had no idea how to open those eye chest things. THANK YOU SO MUCHHHHHH YOU DONT UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH TIME YOUVE JUST SAVED MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Will some sidemissions disappear if you progress in the main story?
They didn’t seem to disappear for me
@@evermorenika great! ty
Arithmancy tip I figured out! Study the sheet. Count the horns on the images, count the legs. Count the heads. 9 heads is the hydra for 9. 8 legs is the spider for 8, etc.
They should make Lord Of The Rings Legacy. Just like this!
Middle Earth Legacy!
They already did... Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War
@@Asghaad I said like this game. Mordor is nothing like this.
@@omarwright7238 open world action rpg with protagonist getting legendary mysterious powers based on pre established lore from the books... Sounds pretty similar to me

2 million views!!! Super awesome achievement , Andy as well to your co-creator Nika!Lets go!
I played through and just finished in story mode! Now I've gone and created a new character and I'm playing in easy mode. There are a lot of changes between the two modes. I also chose a different house this time so I've already actually gotten to do a quest that wasn't available to me last time! But all of your tips are very useful. Only few more hours for me, im happy that you and Nika got the access codes so these videos are possible now 👍

Nope! Ending of the story is determined at the very end, your actions, dialogue, or house do not matter or count towards it :) So play freely!
@@FknWolf Nice one! Thanks for letting me know
For the wall triangle puzzles I just ended up brute force guessing and I’ve had no problem, takes me about a minute and I don’t gotta use my brain
This helps😁 I just hope I am not too old to remember all of that 😂
🙏🏽❤️🤣
How is the game going for you?
@@Joyful_Traitor it's amazing! I'm not a demanding player - I don't know how the game should work, I don't care about glitches, I am Just happy to be able to explore the world :D it looks and feels beautiful. I play at the Story mode, so there is as Little combat as possible (perfect for me). I love it so far!
@@nediira6138 it's an amazing game imo. With some minor flaws that can be easily overlooked. Especially when distracted with the beauty.
I'm glad you're enjoying it as much as I am 🙃
I’ve seen the help with the door puzzles in quite a few videos and everyone says to take a picture of the note on your phone. You don’t need to do that. Going from left to right the pictures are numbered 0 through 9. Hope that helps some people
Hogwarts top tip. Disable the minimap, quest indicator above it, and all indicators over people's heads. You can mark your active marker in the game on the map, then hit the up button on the dpad if you need help to find it. I find the immersiveness of not having the minimap has changed the game for me beyond what I thought it would. I wish I had started the game like that.
You don't need to disable it. Just don't look at it until you're almost frustrated then take a peak for a tip.
