@Viktoria_Thaelin I hated the Cutter initially. I saw it as nothing more than a more boxy Pisces. But now the ship is growing on me. There is something about that flying shoe box that I like, and I can't even tell what exactly what it is. I just like it!
In 3.23 it seems the Titan is possibly the best starter ship. You could literally melt your way into bounties with it, and it is great for PVP too since it seems this patch favors medium fighters. All while having a bed to log out, and cargo space for smuggling, or box delivery. The ship is great for bunker missions too since you can destroy towers with those guns. You can get all that without breaking the bank.
Surprised you didn't include the Reliant series. Also, while I love the Connie in concept, it's unpolished status really killed it for me. The living situation on it is also very clunky so I hope they revisit the Connie sometime and do some remodeling. I swapped out my Taurus for a Starlancer because the SL has the amenities that I wanted my Connie to have.
I agreed with all of your points except for the cutlass black lol. It is not tanky at all and now that the freelancer has an additional size 2 shield (3 total) it way outperforms the cutlass black in almost every metric apart from the turret.
Yeah imma have to push back on that a little. Your right the shield is massive, couldn't believe it honestly but after that it actually loses in every category, manoeuvring and hull primarily. Be good to see a match up though. I get the feeling that you may be right though that shield is going to be very hard to overcome. Cutlass might have met it's match here.
@@Reds_Resort the cutlass does have some manuverability over the freelancer but if you can shoot off one of the main engines, which is arguably very easy. The fight is basically over for the cutlass
Connie needs all the love it can get. Beautiful and lovely ship I wonder how effective it will be flown solo once engineering hits and before blades and AI crew will be a thing. That might hinder it a bit. Lovely list, and I'd say that indeed the Titan is still the best of the best. Or the Aurora if someone is wanting to start from the actual level 1. Tho did not know about the Mustangs little cargo rack, that seems very handy.
I've been playing star citizen for about a week now. I started with the Aurora MR Starter Pack (around $45 USD). It was cool to get started, but last night I upgraded the Aurora MR to the c8R Pisces for around ($35 USD, instead of paying $65). Im still not sure what im doing, but the pisces is the best "starter" ship imo because of the following: You have way more cargo room for beginner small cargo and delivery missions. More room to walk around inside and extra chair for a guide or someone trying to help you learn the game. The ship also seems to be loaded up with free med supplies all the time, which is cool for new players. You also have that medbed in there that you can set your respawn point to. I'm not sure what the heck is going on with Logging Out, if you have to do it in a bed or not. I would like to just start the game off in my ship in the hanger (or where I landed and logged out in the bed at). The pisces also has some ship guns, but as a new player i haven't found myself in too many space battles. Im mostly solo traveling, learning how to warp jump, exploring, getting use to flying, stuff like that. The ship also has two internal storage compartments which is super cool, one public and one private. and it was honestly hard to get stuff in and out of the aurora, having that ramp door is way better. For players who dont even want to be a medic, its still a good ship to start the game with, it helps with the learning curve.
@@HeyoWhatUp This is great. Glad you've found your your little space buddy. I think when it came out the C8R found a place in a lot of people hearts. I don't think you can log out in the bed unfortunately which is just annoying tbh. But you might be able to do a few of the lower level bounties in it. o7 and all the best out there. If you get stuck and have questions hit me up.
Great video Red. For me my starter ship will always be Nomad. It really is the best bang for your buck. However for my two alt accounts, when you just need a good starting point, I have gone for 100i. Cutty also comes very close when it comes to functionality. When it comes to style though - Syulen is the best. Loved the outtakes in the end :)
@@Reds_Resort sure can, nust use a tractor beam on your muktitool instead of driving her in. You can actually drive it into the Gattac Syulen though, you missed that as well.
@@Reds_Resort hellz yes reds, keep up the good work. Also, just a heads up, you can fit the mirai pulse in the Aurora interior as well. And the 100i, though that one seems harder to get back out. There are some "will it fit" videos for the pulse... the answer is yes for any space that could technically fit 2 SCU, and some that dont even (like the Aurora interior). That pulse was a gamechanger man.
Quick little tip that I remember a while although I'm not sure if it still applies in this patch. You can detach the cargo module of the Aurora CL using a tractor beam and put it on any other Aurora ship making that 3 scu go up to 6. And you can just rent the CL just to grab that part off it.
As a newer player, the event starter bundles have so much extra for not that much extra money (if any) and are definitely worth waiting for if you can. Can cost more if you do what I do and melt your starter ship for a better one.
In case you make a 3.24 version of this you really should add the Reliant Kore. Some cargo, 2 S4 and 2 S2 weapons, decent agility. But the most important it is (currently) the cheapest ship in medium size, which means you`ll get a bigger personal hangar

I fly the Pisces a lot as a runabout, but to be more than that it misses a bed to logout/in on the ship. I use that a lot because it saves me time running through spaceports.
Nice video. Just one feedback: I think style shouldn't be part of the scoring. It is so much up to personal taste. So what's the value of it in a tierlist? e.g. I don't like the RSI style as much but I love the MISC style. Whereas for you it seems to be the exact opposite. As this might be used as a sort of "recommendation" video for some people, I think you should leave that factor up to themselves. Specifically as for many people the looks can influence the enjoyment of a ship a lot.
Really good point. I did consider doing something at the end where I ignored those points and the ones for price just to see how things panned out. Completely forgot about it though. Think im going to do a revision in the pinned with some new bits of info I've gained from feedback. Appreciate it dude. o7
My initial hunch before seeing the results was living quarters was worth too much and price not enough. That's kind of where I stopped and didn't over think it too much but I guess it would explain a lot of the top scorers. (Edit: I didn't really notice style was a 10 point category but it wasn't effectively working that way. It's not like anything is getting a zero or a ten. It's more of a 3 to 7 range so it's not like one ship is getting 9 or 10 points more simply on looks.) I think I'm still partial to the penguin though I'm not really sure how much master modes changed all these ships and the Titan does feel dated. And even though I wouldn't recommend someone to buy it as their first ship there's no arguing that the Connie isn't a pretty good all arounder. (If you want one I would still probably lean toward buy a cheaper ship squeezing in a couple CCUs and getting a Taurus for a while. It's both the cheapest ship for its size, holds the most cargo, and has the same guns and shields as the other Connies. It leaves the Corsair, MSR, 400i or any of the others Connies as possible upgrades in the future).
Great content thanks for putting this together. Personally I consider Freelancer a 10 on Style because it's not common as muck like the Cutty and shows that you don't follow the meta. Also completely agree, start cheap as possible and work your way up. Level of marketing spin and ramping by CGI for players to spend anything more is an insult.

Yeah it got pretty tricky tbh. I really didn't want it to scale directly with monetary value, it never used to I believe.
