Well done mate.Great vid!
Todd, you are fortunate enough to be far enough inland that at most you’ll only get level 1 hurricane winds, maybe. Less than 2 years ago a category 5 hurricane made landing not far from my home in Cape Coral, FL. It was a near 5 when it came through my city and Fort Myers, not to mention ocean surges here at sea level. The area is still trying to recover. Anyway, your entire Capitol region in Lao is outgrowing it’s infrastructure. Added roads, parking lots, and homes will make flooding much worse without good planning. Fast growth in flood prone areas is a disaster, and the City of Bonita Springs in my county is a perfect example. Vientiane may not have the luxury of enough non usable space for water retention areas to reduce flooding every time it rains like we have. You guys have to plan, it’s your Capitol.
Great to see updates through your videos. People like me really enjoyed watching from the comfort of my home. I'm glad your family is doing very well. I felt really bad for those affected by the floods. Hopefully many lives were saved. The land looks so flat no higher grounds. All in all hope everyone was safe. 👍🙏🙏🙏
crazy flooding
26:38 ... although all the stress of the floods pedestrians still waving you ... nice to see !!!
Thanks Todd for the great updates ❤
Some amazing footage there Todd! Never underestimate the power of flood water and the damage that it can cause. The guy in the Fortuner was clearly going too fast and may also have hit a pothole or some debris. Glad that your second house is ok. What about that new hotel and the older one that you stayed at on the river front. The water was pretty high then! Lovely pool that you have found near to Mina's school. ideal for her to relax in after a hard day after school. The dentist looks amazing and so cheap too, no doubt the tooth fairy as already visited Mina. Made me laugh when you didn't get Neenee's joke about the road signs! Stay safe and keep dry, God bless the 3 of you. 😀❤🙏
Thanks for the updates, hope this is it for the big storms it's been a rough rainy season for south east Asia this year
Thanks for the video, I hope everyone is ok 🙏🙏
Sorry for your predicament but your vlog reminded me of the Johnny Cash song five feet high and rising.
Love your videos :D. Always enjoy watching it
My mother in law is in nth Vietnam. She said grocery prices are very high now.
Chiang rai has been hit hard by the flooding
Really enjoyed that update video bro. That is a lot of rain. Well the river has well swollen 🌧️ 👍🏽👍🏽
Top video mate and good to see you give the fortuner a run. 👍
Ol' mate was in a bit of trouble with his fortuner ay
Cheers Pook'
Thank You for a great video
It's great that Mina loves to swim. 👍👍The flooding there is something. Good to hear the house is above water. Stay safe.
Please be careful Todd . Don't get caught on a flooding roadway. I know you will. Hope Neenee is recovering from her spleen a bit. And Mina from her tooth extraction. Keep us posted
Sending you Well Wishes from our current location DC visiting relatives 🙏🙏 Jim and Harriet
And to think 3 years ago, you walked across the Mekong River.
Stay safe guys ❤ from Melbourne
Awesome frontline report
Same floods over the Mekong in Thailand.
Time for the government and good citizens to come together and see how good strategies can end the floods of the years-a-years.
Indeed.
Thanks tod for keeping me informed
💯🔥💙👍
Sabidee I'm here for the first time what's your camera 📸 I'd love to get one for shooting video like you
I think that even adding the cost of air travel, restaurants, et al., that I would end up paying less for dentistry if I travel from California to Vientiane to see your dentist. I even have something they call "dental insurance" in the U.S., but in Los Angeles, it is worth a few pennies more than absolutely nothing. Airfare to Lao would be more valuable dental insurance.
Another fantastically entertaining and informative video Todd - even under circumstances wrought by the seasonal storms. You know you're living a good life when even a typhoon brings another occasion for a fun family outing!
I don't get the opportunity to see many of your videos, so what a happy surprise to see how well Mina is picking up English in such a short period of time. But, not really a surprise. I predicted she'd be a lightning fast learner of English and other subjects she needed to catch up on when she came to live with you and Neenee.
@@kikovazquez7277 Yeah, she puts me to shame! She's all caught up now and in the top of her class. Instead of staying back after school classes to catch up, she's elected to stay back and do extra English classes. The girl just loves to learn! 💚
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. Much appreciated 🙏
Good update 👍 Lemons & limes called the same in Thailand. Easy to grow also- just no one wants them up country. Maybe need a snorkel and outboard motor for the troopy!
Typhoons are devastating to so many people who live in Asia. Good to see Mina getting those pesky choppers out. You all stay safe, Todd.
Omg same in leoi
I recognise that Dentist. 🤤
I thought it was raining in the UK but it's nothing as bad as Vientiane.
🤗🙏🏼!
Thank you for the updates, hope everyone is ok 🙏🏼
Take care.
Better info than the news
Be careful my South East Asian family! Dang,,way too much! Ive experienced flooding,,but nothing on this scale. ❤❤❤ Ttyl,,,Marlon
Udon Thani has flooded as well
Appreciate the updates Todd...no doubt sewerage in that flood water keep safe guys...🙏...hit the like button viewers...👍
Unlikely as every one uses sceptic tanks
@@chrisperkins7331 last time I had a septic tank it's got a vent and outlet...or they different in Laos...? What happens when they under water...?
@@jordiking2481 As they are underground, if the vents are above he water line then all the effluent stays in the tank. However in the west most of the storm water finishes up in the sewer system, which is much worse.
👋🏻🤠❤🙏🏻
light night,,my street flooded...but i am on the 2nd floor...wow
I cannot even drive past the dentists here in the USA for $14.00! Looking forward to the implant videos as I need a few and am looking for a good provider in SE Asia
They have the lemon/lime confusion in Thailand too. Along with the confusion over whisky and rum. ("Thai whiskey" is rum. It even says "rum" on the label, but they still call it whiskey!)
👍
They grow lemons in Thailand 15 baht each in macro , lotus and big c
That area by the night markets looks clearly like a flood zone when there's no water in it.
Maybe old mate might of got the damage from being towed , do you think Todd
67c for an icecream.. Australia Mr Whippy $5.00
Greetings Todd. Cheap dental work there for sure. I just paid a dentist in Perth $1250 for 4x fillings, some xrays and a clean.. 😵💫😵💫😵💫
Remember to get some English reading books for Mina when you go to Australia.
whats wrong with the old string on the door knob?
Today, Mecon is 13.50 meters over the average level, and more remaining on the way, south over in Cambodia and Vietnam, it will be from Wednesday to Friday
Weird....sunny blue skies in vang vieng????
Wife and I where there 2 months ago. Sad to see
Reminiscent of Oz mate. Bushyboy Oz.
If Thong Pong Rd floods, Ive got issues . Keep all of us updated, and please take care of yourselves !
What city are you in Vientiane?
Why would you build a market on the river side of a levee?
The people litter too much garbages on the streets, towns and creeks, so this year is Dragon's year, Dragons do a preasure wash around dragon's territories and better get out of the way..
What happen to aussie market guys
They're still there. I don't see as often now as we don't run our restaurant anymore.
I just saw a video from Naning city China where the river level has risen considerable, the government has taken steps to control the situation, huge pumps at flood gates are reducing the effects places that have become dangerous have been cordoned out police is standing everywhere, people are live streaming from a bridge showing what the situation is,life goes on normally no one is effected the government has steped in to ensure safety of the people, the video I saw was created by an Canadian living in China for 21 years
China and Vietnam have an agreement ,China is helping Vietnam by diverting flood water into China
Real color of Lemon are green... Thats probably why people get confused.
And the last flood from Laos was making the Cambodia flood🇰🇭
Horrible to see. Can‘t imagine the pain for all people, who live there.
How is the status for Vang Vieng and infrastructure?
We planned a trip in 3 weeks. I know from other areas that people welcome tourists, that bring money with their stay, even in situations like this. Is it still possible to support that way or should we rebook to another location? We don‘t want to risk us or anyone else with going in an area with such a damage, for selfish vacation reasons, but still think about if we should go? Any thoughts?
"Come back from Aus" Did that mean you got the visa?
I'll be going back either way, so no, it doesn't mean that
Dirty along Mekong river bank, has a lot of trash,it doesn’t look good.
Is Bebinka gunna get you too.
