Great inspirational video. I liked the fan! What will you use this for? A shed, a deck, play platform, lots of possible uses! I would recommend placing landscaper's fabric under the platform to prevent weeds from growing and crushed stone to help the drainage and prevent bed smell under the shed. You could have used sand bags to help you level the posts. I know the concrete posts are very have to have to lift them multiple times during construction. This being in the woods it will attract mouse to hide under the platform or even rabbits,so seal the floor boards and future walls and doors well. If this will be used as a shed foundation it would not meet urban codes, but this being in the woods is just perfect.
Me and my wife are looking to buy a shed this weekend, how many boards do I need? What size? How many concrete blocks, and how many plywood?? I know nothing about building a foundation on my own
I roughly followed these plans buildblueprint.com/8-x-10-garden-shed-plans/ for the shed, but the foundation I planned on my own from various online resources
Yes, its meant to prevent moisture from the ground / dew. We have humid and damp soil conditions here. Honestly I'm not sure if its the correct or right thing todo.
That’s probably a better idea, what I did has turned into a major problem. That plastic was holding water, causing the floor to soak in it. I’ve had to replace the floor and removed that plastic barrier. Live and learn.
I eye leveled them, then used a level to compare them all (shown in video), and lowered any high ones. Most only needed minor adjustment, one corner I did put an additional flat concrete block under to lift it up.
Buy a few bags of sand and use it to level the posts to your liking. (Their front left corner post was way off of level creating an off balanced surface)
The boards can rot, so that this does not happen, it was necessary to anoint with bitumen mastic at the point of contact of the boards and the foundation.
I need to make a foundation for a gazebo. This is perfect, my platform/foundation will be 12x12.
Looks good. I look forward to seeing more of this project. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! It's slow going not living onsite, but we will share updates as they happen.

Welcome to the channel, glad to have you.
Why didn't you create any base for the blocks. IN couple of years it will start sinking into the ground.
you have a fan ! lol
Hi , nice vid, is the Plastic for a vapor barrier or pests?
Plastic is meant as a vapor barrier
@@wildwaxretreat @Wild Wax Retreat do you mean to prevent the moisture get into the shed?
Yes, its meant to prevent moisture from the ground / dew. We have humid and damp soil conditions here. Honestly I'm not sure if its the correct or right thing todo.
I thought most people put the vapor barrier on the ground, not between the floor joists and flooring?

Is there an easy way to get those 9 concrete blocks level? At least of you used posts then the posts could always be cut to height.

Absolute joke is the Ventilator. Like a fridge at the northpole. 😜😜😜👎
Mosquito or black fly deterrent maybe?
Probably high humidity on the day of the construction? and like someone said it blows away mosquitos and flies too
90 degrees, high humidity, and long sleeve shirts that hold sweat - fan helps a ton to cool you down.
