Beautiful indeed! Thank you Em! 😘Your tutorials are so easy to follow even for a beginner like me. Please continue helping a lot of people and I cannot wait to see your home sweet hexagon video 😘
This is SUCH a good tutorial. Great, methodical teaching style, easy to follow. I used this join for a back panel of starburst grannies on a hexagon cardigan and it added so much elegance!
Thankyou so much for the good feedback. Im constantly trying to improve my teaching style so it’s good to hear what I’m doing right. I can imagine your cardigan and im sure it looks great 😁
I’m joining my squares now. I love this connecting of granny squares. I searched a lot and I finally found the perfect one for my project. Thank you for the tutorial!😊
This is perfect just conquered doing 3 col spiral needed a pretty but easy join have put 4 together as a trial most pleased. You made the instructions very easy to understand and your movements were slow enough for me to copy and follow. Thank you very much cheers from Upper Hunter Valley NSW Australia
Merci de partage! Les explications sont très claire. Le ton et le son de la voie sont parfait. Je vais l'essayer mais avec un crochet lisse. Génial. Quel bel finition!
Its a very clever video, ive never seen a better one, not using any music either. That is clever in its self! Relaxing and I really want to go do this now😊😊😊😊
This is by far the best joining tutorial I've seen - & I've watched LOTS! You explain it so well & make it really easy to understand & follow. Bloody brilliant, so thank you xxx ETA- now I'm off to binge the rest of ur vids lol
Thankyou for such a wonderful comment. I’m so glad you like my tutorial and your feedback has honestly made my day. Sending you lots of crochet love 🧶💕
Thank you for this simple video I will be trying this method. I am an absolute beginner and my blankets always come apart so I hope this method will work for me. Thank you
Really good explained, fabulous filmed with your fingers away, so we can see everything ❣️Many others have always the fingers over the joining. I will give your link to other beginners. 😍
I subscribed just to learn this tutorial, but I am so glad I did! I have only been crocheting for about 3 years, off and on, but have learned so many things from watching the other videos you have posted. I can't wait to start putting my squares together. Thank you for sharing and teaching this beautiful join as you go!🙏
Thankyou so much for your comment and subscribe. I really appreciate the feedback and I’m glad this was so helpful for you!! Enjoy and happy hooking ❤️❤️
This is wonderful! I needed to add just a bit more onto my granny squares and wasn't sure if the best way to make it look right. This is definitely the way to do it! I looked through your videos and didn't see a tutorial for the solid granny squares. I heard in this video you said you like to start in the corners which would be a great benefit because you can see where I started in each of my granny squares and I don't really like how I am able to see where I started each round... Any advice? Thanks in advance
This is a good looking join! I'll check out my sunflower squares to see if this will work for them! I gave up granny squares years ago because I HATE sewing yarn work! This technique may change my mind! Thanks!
Oooo I hope this gets you back into grannies! I love granny squares but I do understand why joining them would put people off. 🤞 this works out for you
I have a video all about how I made this blanket, including finding the patterns and a link to my list of patterns links. th-cam.com/video/zB3uFthfpPs/w-d-xo.html They aren’t my patterns so I can’t make tutorials from them due to copyright, but hopefully this video will tell you everything you need to know 😊
Yes all the information on how I made the blanket is here th-cam.com/video/zB3uFthfpPs/w-d-xo.html It is not a tutorial on how to make the specific squares but I do give lots of ideas on where to find patterns, how to alter them, and I have made a long list of patterns that’s linked in the description and also some links to some ready made sampler blanket patterns from other designers. It is a great project and good for building skills 😁 hope this helps and happy to answer any questions that crop up
Beautiful tutorial, thank you!! I’ve realised my squares are 22 stitches on each side. Any ideas as to how I can still join like this? One thought I had was maybe using one the stitches from the corner? Thanks for your help! Xx
I dont have tutorials as they are from other designers. I have a sort of tutorial/guide to making a blanket like this one here: th-cam.com/video/zB3uFthfpPs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ml1HUF6NLVkuRXGX
Thank you for sharing this beautiful method. Do you have a video on how to make the adorable charm attached to your scissors. Would love to make for keychain for my girlfriends ❤
I actually don't, I have a free written pattern up on Ravelry but you've just reminded me that I meant to make a tutorial for it. I'll pop it on my To Do list - thankyou!
I am excited to start on using this join technique for my blanket. I am curious about how you 'fudged' the squares with an extra stitch, as I realized that my squares have 18 stitches. Thanks!
I skipped the first stitch when doing the round of sc, this reduce the stitch count by one so it met the multiple of 3+2. So my squares were 33 stitches, then after the sc round I had 34 stitches instead of 35. Hope this helps!!
Hi, unfortunately they aren’t my patterns so I don’t have individual tutorials for them but I do have all information on the patterns used in this video: th-cam.com/video/zB3uFthfpPs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=H8dS_EhX5KP_LQOp
Beautiful! I learned how to crochet a willow granny square then I found your joining technique. My problem is that I only have 22 stitches between the corners (not a multiplier of 3 + 2). Is there anything I can do to make this work?
I'm working on the same thing right now! To make this work, I added four dc on each side to make 26 (instead of 3 dc and 5 dc in the chain spaces on the side, I did 4 and 6 :) )
Yes this is what I would recommend - "fudging" your stitches so adding an extra stitch or taking a stitch out on Round 1 so you have the correct stitch count on Round 2
Yes DK and no border tutorial yet. I’m currently designing my own sampler blanket so the border tutorial will be included in that video tutorial later this year
Can we say that we have to make the "single stitch border" around each of our corners before starting to join them ? I don't know if my question is clear ^^ English is not my first language... Thank you !
Yes I added a border that looked similar to the join to even it out and then a scalloped edging of my own design. It doesn’t lay flat so I’m not ready to do a tutorial for it until I can go back and rework it!
Add or remove however many stitches you need to one of the corners on round 1, you won’t be able to tell and it’s actually what I did in my sampler blanket
My most recent video shows how to use ravelry but if you want to find out how I specifically found the square patterns on ravelry I show it on this video: th-cam.com/play/PLdqx2uaX6beH3uu62j_-HHNd_Q22vxBn1.html&si=Nxg0LXuwpKfcbx9r
It’s lots of different patterns. All the information can be found in this video and in the links in that video’s description th-cam.com/video/zB3uFthfpPs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=3LoQeb-CHBPyFTQP Enjoy, it’s a fab project 🥰
This channel has the most beautiful crotchet and I’d really like to learn how to do those squares. The colours are perfectly put together too. I search for UK tutorials and couldn’t believe my luck when I clicked on this channel that the teacher was English, Brilliant I thought but then for some reason the instructions are given in the American terms. I admit I was very annoyed and didn’t understand why a UK teacher would do this. I know the USA audience is bigger than the UK’s but let THEM have to do the conversions, they have loads of channels anyway! Sadly I’ll have to give this channel a miss.
Sorry to cause frustration and that my channel is not for you. My written patterns are all available in UK terms if there was a particular project you wanted to make. I am not chasing the larger audience - I have always used US terms as that was how I learned, and I have many UK friends who prefer to use US terms. I find them more logical, easier to understand, and a wider range of patterns use them (although I learned to read both terminologies early on in my crochet journey). I teach in the terms that I believe most benefit beginner crocheters. I believe Bella Coco is one of the largest crochet channels and she teaches UK terms so maybe check her out? Best wishes, Em
Pensez-vous pour une personne qui ne comprend pas l’anglais comme ont patoge pour y arriver à réussir?? J’apprécierais beaucoup en français merci de penser à nous 😢
Wonderful, easy to follow and no annoying background music, love that joining technique.
Glad you liked this tutorial. And I agree about background music, it annoys me too!
Also like the plain nails and not crazy long nails.
Meema thank you so much for this tutorial you are a very good teacher makes it so enjoyable i was so worried about join them but you made it painless
What a beautiful join technique
Thank you for your very clear instructions. Great help

It is one of the best instructional tutorials I have seen
This tutorial is fantastic; thank you for sharing! I've started to put together my sunflower afghan using an adaption of 1 DC, 1 CH on the join.
I’m joining my squares now. I love this connecting of granny squares. I searched a lot and I finally found the perfect one for my project. Thank you for the tutorial!😊

Thank you for sharing your join as you go tutorial, it’s a very lovely outcome & it mimics a cable stitch💕🌸😁
I’m so glad you like it. The cable effect is why I love it too 🥰
I can’t wait to try this! You’re a perfect crochet instructor! ❤
Thank you so much! I have been working on my teaching skills so it's good to know the effort has paid off. Happy Hooking :)

Thanks, i like your scissor cussion❣️ Can you show us how you made it please. 🤩
Good idea! The free pattern is on my Instagram and ravelry but I’ll add it to my “to film” list 😊 Thankyou for the suggestion
So helpful Hank you 😇👍
This is a good looking join! I'll check out my sunflower squares to see if this will work for them! I gave up granny squares years ago because I HATE sewing yarn work! This technique may change my mind! Thanks!
Oooo I hope this gets you back into grannies! I love granny squares but I do understand why joining them would put people off. 🤞 this works out for you
This seems good technique of teaching I am trying to follow the tutorial but not quick enough to go round till I get the track of it
You can speed up or slow down the video in the settings if it’s too fast for you
Do you have a tutorial for all the different squares in this blanket they are so pretty I would love to make it
I have a video all about how I made this blanket, including finding the patterns and a link to my list of patterns links. th-cam.com/video/zB3uFthfpPs/w-d-xo.html
They aren’t my patterns so I can’t make tutorials from them due to copyright, but hopefully this video will tell you everything you need to know 😊
Love your join technique! Have you done a separate tutorial for the modified version of this for Granny Squares?
I haven’t but it is on my to do list!
Beautiful 🥰
have you a video on how to make the squares please ❤ I've just subscribed to your channel I'm a newish crocheyer 😁

Just do an increase somewhere on the first round of the border
Just wondering what pattern you used the the scalloped border please
That blanket is beautiful. Do you have tutorials on the squares?
I dont have tutorials as they are from other designers. I have a sort of tutorial/guide to making a blanket like this one here: th-cam.com/video/zB3uFthfpPs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ml1HUF6NLVkuRXGX

Thankyou!
Can we say that we have to make the "single stitch border" around each of our corners before starting to join them ? I don't know if my question is clear ^^ English is not my first language... Thank you !
No you don’t have to as long as you have the right amount of stitches. You can adapt this join in lots of ways 😊
I would LOVE to use this to join mile a minute strips -only inbetween, any advice please?
This should work, you might want to only do the second round though as it might be easier for you when crocheting into the side of your stitches.
@@meemamakes thank you will definitely try!
Would you recommend a border on this to straighten up the edge?
Yes I added a border that looked similar to the join to even it out and then a scalloped edging of my own design. It doesn’t lay flat so I’m not ready to do a tutorial for it until I can go back and rework it!

Do you have a method for joining even # of stitches? The granny square I did has 28 stitches on each side and no open corners 😩
Add or remove however many stitches you need to one of the corners on round 1, you won’t be able to tell and it’s actually what I did in my sampler blanket

Add one square at a time, joining as you go. The same technique works for all your squares
