I've been making this since he brought out the video (fell in love with the recipe) and I've been messing around with the ingredients ever since. Tonight I adapted this into a guacamole-inspired frittata. Substituted the basil for coriander, the bacon for chorizo, cubed tomato instead of capsicum, lime zest into the egg mixture, fresh red onion last minute and a jalapeno for kicks . Then topped it with avocado cubes and cheese before grilling. Just putting it out there for anyone that wants to mix it up. It was heaven in my mouth.
Yep sure does. Makes for delicious eats. And he says 4-5 mins, not 45 mins. Sounds off the first time you watch it. I dont actually have a broiler in my oven. I just put the rack as close to the element as possible. Not ideal, but it works.

Agreed, I think mushrooms, chilis, tomatoes, and maybe sub the basil with some fresh rosemary, thyme and/or sage. Lots of possibilities with this dish and they'll probably all turn out great.
Give the man his due. I've always said Ramsay didn't know how to cook American breakfast eggs, or mashed potatoes. He nailed this dish. Rustic, hearty farmer's table fare. No "foo-foo" crap (like adding milk to eggs or potatoes).

this is actually a pretty healthy breakfast considering it could be a biscuit from a fast food joint. nothing wrong with bacon in moderation, the key to everything is moderation. everything else in this dish is vegetables, minus the eggs (a great source of protein, Vitamin D and B-12, and less that 1g of carbs per egg). The only somewhat unhealthy part is the goat cheese, because it's high in saturated fat, but it's used in such small quantities in the dish it's almost negligible
