I found the crappies in the backs of big coves off the narrows in 10-18 ft of water around weeds. Using 1/16oz jighead with 2" keitecs in pearl or sm crappie minnows

Couple weeks ago at the mouth of the American river it was pretty good but they were mostly small males. It has been slow this last week but I think it will get better this week as the females should start to come.
I can graph fish in three feet of water. Have to turn the sensivity down and you can see them. At ten feet the cone angle is about 3 1/2 ft oblong at 20*
There was a lot of small males couple weeks ago and it slowed down hopefully the females will be here in the next week coming as they usually follow later

Right now they are back in big channels or creeks but way in the back. Look around for balls of shad in the backs of coves and use pearl color jigs
