  • Traveling the Philippines with over 7,000 islands quite likely will include a ferry ride at some time. Ferries come in many sizes and amenities. A smaller version, the banca boat or outrigger boat is also very common. Mactan Island is where the Cebu Mactan International Airport is located. There are many resorts and condos especially on the west side of Mactan. There are many piers also offering trips to Olango Island and island hopping to other smaller islands. Olango Island is a popular bird refuge and more tourists are finding a trip to Olango Island a rewarding experience also.

      There has been quite a bit of road, ferry terminal, and airport terminal infra improvement on various islands David. Apparently, the DTI, tourism department has some budget for roads also. Politics can get involved though.

    Are U aware that U almost ran over that JAYWALKING dog?😨🐕 8:59 Thats one of my FEARS over there, riding a SCOOTER and hitting a dog, chicken, cow, or MONKEY that darts in the street😫🐒 I hear those two-wheeled ACCIDENTS are high over there🛵🙆

    • @AmazingPhilippines1
      @AmazingPhilippines1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is very common CHICANO. I have been a rider when one was hit and know an expat who "bumped" a child who ran into the street and had to settle up $$ there or go to the police station for a report.

    What was the name of the app? All the ones I tried just showed me charts for where I live in the US. Not very useful in the middle of the country. None of them seemed to know coastal cities in the Philippines. Did it have an upgrade cost or a cost to get PH charts?

    • @AmazingPhilippines1

      Tides by 7th Gear is the Android app Tony. It seems to work well in the PH. Lots of free info but I think you can remove ads with a paid version.

    I envy you Rod, lucky B. LOL. Its so bloody cold here sometimes. We are hoping the isolation restrictions for incoming visitors will be relaxed in 2022 so we can come home and tend to some overdue maintenance on the palace. Our second jab due this coming Saturday and Vax certificates are being initiated currently. Lots of people have lost their jobs for not accepting the vax, school teachers, medical workers, nurses, Doctors, etc. Not good.

    • @AmazingPhilippines1
      @AmazingPhilippines1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LOL! Yes, glad I am "stuck" here Bob.
      The idiot politicians are creating a new crisis with the mandates. Recovering from it and negative tests should work as these vax are not performing as stated. New solutions coming soon I think.

    The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) has approved in principle the entry of tourists who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 from countries under the "green list" pending guidelines, the Department of Tourism said Friday.
    The Tourism Secretary said she believes that it is time for the country to open its borders.
    “Our ASEAN neighbors like Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia also did the same. We believe that it is also time for us to reopen our borders for inbound tourism as a way towards full recovery,” she said.
    It is not open yet but it is coming very soon.
    Unfortunately The US is not on the green list. The US is now on the Yellow list. That may not change soon as the politicians have to keep the covid numbers high until they make millions from the booster shots and line their pockets. The US Congress owns 6% of Pfizer's stock.

    • @AmazingPhilippines1

      I will believe it when I see it James. There are many "spokespersons" or less than top level people making statements for many months, but nothing happens. Hopefully, soon.
