Hi bud, I'm just about to do the same job on my bmw 730d sport only difference is I'm going to include an on/off power switch so the light isn't permanently on. Thanks for the upload I found it really helpful 👍👍👍👍👍
no problem bro
How did you take the negative and positive off the original part ?
Thanks, very informative! How did you manage to run the aux cable from the seat rest housing to the cigarette lighter housing?
Through the plastic cover on the seat and under the center console
@@01wizmiles01 Did you have to dis-assemble the center console? Or is there a hole/path where you can push the cord all the way to the cigarette lighter housing, without having to dis-assemble the center console?
@@resiapelo9915 there are holes to thread the cable so i used a wire to pull the cable through. Abit challenging but you'll get it.
Do you know why the USB port in the center console doesn't charge?
Amps are too low
Hi mate..I tried your way to fit but I'm stuck with additional wire which my cigarette lighter has earth connection..I connected live and neutral and when I turn my headlight on the USB power goes off..I'm stuck any help would be appreciated.. thanks
Hmmmmm thats interesting. Ireally don't know what to say. I wish i could help you. Just try different ways how your wires use to be. Sorry
Thanks for help, i gone do same. Your video its help alot... just tell me its how you say red + and brown negative? Thanks alot
Do exactly and will look good
@@01wizmiles01 but it's that positive red cable and brown cable negative right?
Yes red positive. Brown negative
I'm still waiting on the Lamborghini build
so am i. this is the only way ill make some money by placing more videos so i can finish the lambo.
01wizmiles01 Have you done any major things to it?
ObedTrump BinLaden nothing yet. Its still the same
wait can we use one of those adapters instead of ths in the cigarette lighter?
If you conect it you can use it
Why not just use an adapter that fits in the cigarette lighter seems like that would have been easier but still pretty cool
Looks better this way
What's the part number of the adapter?
Jan Lockhart i have no idea
There's dozens on Amazon. I ordered this one: www.amazon.com/dp/B07SGJ5DN4/
I wanted one with a switch because the USB adapters that plug into the 12V socket are always drawing power and must be unplugged if you don't want to kill your battery on a long shutdown.
The factory USB port in the console is super-weak and can't supply enough power to modern phones much less a tablet. I have a 2014 F30, maybe the newer ones supply more power.
LOL, next time just buy some double USB adapter for 10$ and put it in.
what for im a non smoker and it looks better
The whole point was for a replacement. Not everybody wants a cheap adapter sticking out...
LOL?
😂
I put 2 usb ports because one is for my tablet and the other is for my dash cam
01wizmiles01 you do know you have a 12 v socket under the glove box right?
i didnt know that. yhanks ill check it out tomorrow
i had a look and i dont have a 12V socket under my glove box. thanks anyway
I wouldn't recommend installing it like that
Why not. Its been like this for 2 years and works fine
@@01wizmiles01 The USB adaptor normally comes with a plastic locking nut which secures the adaptor firmly from behind the trim. This is why you have threads around the USB adaptor. I understand it works for you just fine but I would rather have that properly installed to make sure it stays in place and doesn't move about.
@@itsjustash1094 mine have the locknuts, and it’s a cleaner install than just hammering it into place.
