    Purchased: August 2023 - still works GREAT!I th-cam.com/users/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

    I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'm off work getting ready to have surgery on my neck to have 3 vertebrae fused. My heat went out and i certainly did not have cash for a service call. I went out to the unit and followed your video step by step and i now have heat. It ended up being a dirty igniter which was a quick fix thanks to you!!! Again, thank you and i hope you are showered with blessings!!!

    I woke up today on Christmas Eve, it was 12° outside and my heat crapped out during the night. A friend shared this video with me and it saved my ass. Sucked on that pressure switch tube and cleaned the igniter. I don’t know what fixed it but the heat is on! Thank you for making this video.

    For any HVAC techs out there, he isn't wrong about nest Tstats being crap. Word of advice......pull the nest face off the wall before you pull the disconnect outside. There's an issue with the current nest generation that is shorting out the stat when the disconnects are pulled. Save yourself the headache!

    I would just like to say thank you so much for this video. My heat stopped working last night. I watched several videos and saw this one. I have the whirlpool gold version of this machine. I replaced the capacitor in the air conditioning side two years ago but that’s the extent of my air-conditioning heating repairs. Mine was blowing out cool air and running briefly but no heat. I followed your advice my igniter was covered in soot. I cleaned it with sandpaper. After re-energizing the unit and turning heat on it lit perfectly and is working beautifully. I’ll definitely clean the flame sensor when I get a tool that allows me to get it unscrewed. But for now you’ve solved my problem thank you so much! 👊👊👊

    Great videos. One suggestion is I like to use steel wool instead of sanding cloth. The silica residue from sanding cloth can cause some issues if not cleaned off completely. Keep up the great content and clean work.

    Honestly, I'd just clean them as a temporary fix then replace them. Using sand cloth will cause micro scratches that allow more crud build up faster and you'll be back there (or someone else will) in the next month doing the same thing. In my mind, cleaning them is really just a temporary solution when they're that far gone

    • @mikefitzgerald9351
      @mikefitzgerald9351 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also have heard that sand cloth could leave pieces of sand on the igniter and it can turn to glass eventually

    Love the channel, great content as always! I've learned a lot from your videos over the past couple of years, great thorough work!
    Question though, I've always been told to use Emory cloth to clean flame sensors/igniters because if you use sand paper you can get a glass film over the sensor/igniter (Because sand turns to glass when it gets hot). Have you ever heard of such thing? I was skeptical when a senior tech told me this. Once again, huge fan! Keep doing your thing!

    • @georgekolos5255
      @georgekolos5255 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cleaned thousands flame sensor rods thousands of times. Even tried Supcos key chain tool for before (do not waste your money on) Steel wool, stainless steel scouring pad etc.
      I 99.9% of time clean with fine sandpaper trying to make smooth and shiny like this in this vid, then wipe clean with a clean rag or shirt sleeve.
      I still can't believe no spark because of that little dirt on spark assembly!
