“Personally, I resent being tagged "glamour girl". It's such an absurd, extravagant label. It implies so much that I'm not.” -Carole Lombard.. Watch THIS video next! “Clark Gable, how can someone so nice also be so disturbing?”

She was so beautiful and funny and sadly she passed away so young. Clark Gable really loved her and was distraught when she died, he's buried next to her.

Everyone in Hollywood LOVED Carol Lombard. She was VERY popular amongst her peers. She was also Lucille Balls best friend and mentor. Kind of a big sister type. Lucy looked up to Carol professionally and personally. Lucy stated many times she wouldn't have had a career if Carol hadn't pushed her to not give up on herself. She was also very devastated by Carols death and stayed close to Gable until his death,
their link being their unconditional eternal love for Carol of course. It's funny Carol was so beloved by all her peers, everyone in town adored her. Lucy was also beloved and adored by the same peerage as well.

Considering where the plane crashed, there is no way to bring it down. Besides, with all of the time that's passed, there probably is no way to salvage the remains and find out what happened. As for why Gable was not allowed up to help retrieve Carole, he was over 40 years old and a chronic smoker and he would not adjust to the altitude and steep terrain. Also, Carole's body had been charred beyond recignition--save for the black dress she was wearing--and she had been decapitated. No spouse, no matter how strong their love is, should have that last image of their spouse. In fact, when told confirmation of Carole's death, Gable was told "Remember her how she was".
I don't believe her plane was shot down because no one knew she was flying home until the last minute. She'd pulled a "Do you know who I am?" to get three servicemen kicked off of the flight so she could rush home to Gable and assuage her fears that he might be diddling his beautiful young co-star Lana Turner. Lana remarked, after years of abuse from Carole's fans accusing her of having a hand in the star's death, "I wasn't having an affair with [Gable]. Carole was rushing home because of fear and jealousy. I didn't put her on the plane; she did that. I didn't cause her death."
Had Gable and Carole not had a HUGE fight the night before she left on the War Bonds Drive, and had Gable swallowed his pride and driven his wife to the train station (he didn't because of wounded pride), and had he taken a few of her phone calls trying to apologize, maybe--just maybe--Carole would have taken the train back to L.A. and lived happily ever after with her beloved "Pa".
P.s. Carole suffered from endometriosis and had at least two operations to help clear up the problem, but the odds were pretty low that she wouldve ever conceived a child.

Karine, thanks for honoring Carole. You used beautiful footage. We are both from Indiana. As a girl I read a book on her and it said she had canary yellow wing back chairs in the home she had with Gable. And as a woman I bought a yellow wing back, remembering and copying Carole's exquisite taste.

I m glad that bc of you they will be both discovered by those unaware of them, and remembered by those who have maybe somewhat forgotten what they were like. One little thing: just because huge stars are female, it doesn’t make them “ starlets “. Starlets are younger women who are up and coming on their journey to becoming full fledged STARS. Thank you for your videos!

She was a great actress and I love many of her films, but people idealising her relationship with Gable need to stop- it's not healthy. Had she not died at 33 the chances that their marriage would have gone the way of the vast majority of Hollywood marriages are extremely high. Excessively romanticising people - especially ones you've never met - is not a great way to think: for us or for them.

Carol Lombard was a great philanthropist who helped women and men girls and boys. She stood up for studio crew mates if they were not treated fairly she fought for their rights and was known to walk off sets if studio mates were bullied and treated badly. She helped out many young women and men starting out in their carrers.
Carol Lombard enjoyed playing tennis and became good friends with Maybele and when Maybele had serious health issue and was diagnosed wrong Carol paid her hospital bills and went to visit her and wrote letters for her.
Carol was kind and never drew attention to her many philanthropic work. Carol Lombard was Bahi member and took her faith very seriously and supported Bahi community.

Seeing Carole Lombard's pictures when she was little, yeah, they look a lot alike. If they ever decided to do a biopic of Lombard, Evan Rachel Wood should be considered. So sad about Lombard's death but even more so if those rumors are correct. To be honest, I wouldn't doubt it. I also wouldn't doubt that the government covered it up though I can't imagine why they haven't admitted to it now. 🤷🏻‍♀

I love Carole I I have a serious collection of her moviesbut I had not seen to be or not to be until recently which sparked me to research whether or not there was an investigation done on her death thinking that it could have been a sabotage deal so that's how I found this video and read the third also been a book published about the incident and everything so I just really think that she is one of our heroes not because she was an actress but because of who she was as a person her personality and being such a bright joyful person and that she also was such a huge supporter of our military that's a big thing with me in a lot of people in our country that you know we are citizens of the United States of America and that's something to be proud of we are a free country and that's not all over the world I think sometimes people think that you know we don't have anything special here but we do and that needs to be recognized and talked about more. Carole contributed big-time to support her country and I will always be a huge fan of hers because of that. I do hope that if there is more to the story of her death that it would come out because that would only be fair to her that the truth be known.

Carole Lombard 's plane crashed because the the pilot took the wrong compass course from Las Vegas which headed the plane directly to Mount Pelosi just a short distance from Las Vegas Airport. The plane was originally supposed to land at Boulder City to refuel but the pilot decided not to because by that time it was dark & the Boulder City Airport had no landing lights. So the pilot flew to Las Vegas, but left Las Vegas using the same compass course from Boulder City to Burbank California, instead of a new course from Las Vegas. So there they were flying straight into Mount Pelosi at night, no safety beacons on Mount Pelosi,& most likely no ability to read their instruments. Hopefully that puts all the sabotage rumours to rest.

In those early days in Hollywood, the makeup was applied so heavily and artificially distorting that in many pics Carole Lombard is indistinguishable from Greta Garbo, in others she's Marlene Dietrich's doppelganger. It seems to me that the powerful Ceo's of the great, original studios, like MGM, Warner Bros, and RKO, didn't like female individuality and personality, instead, they pushed the Goddess' image, which could be (mostly) blond, brunette or ginger but she's always the same entity aloof and, well, not entirely human.

Her eyes remind me of Cameron Diaz. Wait, infections laugh? Maybe Diaz is her doppelgänger. Short hair? Something about Mary, Diaz was so cute with short hair!
